B-2 Stealth Bomber Damaged During Emergency Landing

A B-2A Spirit stealth bomber experienced an in-flight emergency, resulting in an emergency landing that sparked a fire and damaged the aircraft. The incident occurred at Whiteman AFB in Missouri, where the fleet of just 20 B-2s in existencee is primarily based.
The War Zone reached out to the 509th Bomb Wing’s public affairs department for comment and they promptly responded with this description of the event:
“ A U.S. Air Force B-2 Spirit experienced an in-flight malfunction during routine operations today and was damaged on the runway at Whiteman Air Force Base after it successfully completed an emergency landing. There were no personnel injuries. There was a fire associated with the aircraft after landing, and the base fire department extinguished the fire. The incident is under investigation. “
Talk of some sort of incident involving a B-2 first emerged on social media . Now we at least have confirmation of the incident and that nobody was hurt.
This mishap follows a somewhat similar event that occurred in September of 2021. The B-2 involved in that incident was left wing down into the dirt after skidding off the runway during an emergency landing. It was patched up and flown to Plant 42 in Palmdale, California, for extensive repairs after a year on the ground at Whiteman AFB.
With such a tiny fleet, and just over half of it being fully operational at any given time, any significant damage to a B-2 is a major event. In the past, the USAF has gone to great lengths to repair the precious bombers when they are badly damaged. Still, the fact that nobody was hurt in this incident is great news.

Multiple injuries reported in head-on crash west of Wausau

Marathon County, Wisconsin - A three-vehicle head-on crash Wednesday in Marathon County sent several people to the hospital with serious injuries, authorities said. The crash was reported at about 3:54 p.m. Dec. 7 on Hwy. 107. One person was reported unconscious and unresponsive. The initial report suggested a vehicle crossed the center line and struck a second vehicle head-on, and a third vehicle was involved in the crash. All lanes were blocked for more than two hours as crews cleared the scene. The crash remains under investigation and no names have been released.

Plane crashes onto Highway 401 median, badly injuring 2 people

The two occupants of a Cessna 150 plane were rushed to hospital Monday evening when their plane crashed into a median along Highway 401 outside the ONroute in Bainsville, Ont., near the Ontario-Quebec border, according to police. One patient was taken to hospital in serious condition while the second was airlifted to hospital in life-threatening condition, said acting Sgt. Erin Cranton, a spokesperson for the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) east region. She said police were called around 8:15 p.m. A spokesperson for the Ornge air ambulance service said it took a man in his 20s to a hospital in Ottawa. The initial investigation suggests the plane may have experienced a "mechanical problem" after it took off from an airstrip in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Que., OPP said in a news release. The plane's intended destination is not yet known. The airplane hit hydro wires in its descent, OPP confirmed. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) said it has deployed a team of investigators to the site. The plane is a single-engine aircraft with two seats. The scene is about 40 kilometres east of Cornwall, 80 kilometres west of Montreal and 125 kilometres southeast of Ottawa.

Driver of a taxi blacked out and crashed into a business

On the morning of this Monday, there was an accident in the Santa Justina neighborhood. It happened at approximately 6:30 a.m., at the intersection of Avenida Angelelli and Chile, where the driver of a taxi blacked out and crashed into a shoe shop. The driver, identified as 50-year-old Daniel Barrionuevo, spoke to radio media, where he stated that "I broke down and I don't remember anything." The man said that they did a breathalyzer test that was negative and that they also did a blood glucose test. Despite the tremendous event, the man was not injured, while the vehicle suffered significant material damage, as well as the roof that was at the entrance to the premises.

A terrible accident was reported very early in the morning. For reasons that are being clarified, a vehicle lost control, hit some parked cars, and ended up overturning on the road. On board was a family who was injured. At about 7:50 a.m., a road accident occurred in the El Milagro neighborhood, near Villa Mitre. A man was transferred to the municipal hospital after finishing above the RN 226 and Circunvalación roundabout, in a fact that is still being investigated. It was reported that the man was traveling to Olavarría aboard a truck and, it is believe blacked out, lost control of the vehicle and ended up at the roundabout. A SAME ambulance arrived at the scene and police personnel preserved the scene.

A woman blacked out and overturned with her vehicle in Goya
December 1, 2022
On the street at the entrance to the Barrio Aeroclub de Goya, the driver of a vehicle reportedly suffered a decompensation yesterday at 7, after which she lost control of the vehicle that overturned and fell into a drainage channel. A 47-year-old man crashed his car into the window of a pharmacy in Bochum-Langendreer on Friday evening. Apparently, a medical emergency was the cause of the accident. At around 5:35 p.m., the 47-year-old from Bochum left the road at the Hauptstraße/Unterstraße intersection with a silver-colored VW Golf and drove into the window of the Adler pharmacy on the market square. According to the police, it is still unclear from which direction the man came.

A4 near Düren open again after an accident
December 2, 2022
As the highway police confirmed, the accident occurred on the A4 between the Langerwehe and Düren exits early on Friday morning. The trigger was an internal emergency involving a 57-year-old driver. He had to be resuscitated on site by emergency services. Further details were not initially known.

Lost consciousness while driving - passenger prevents worse

Thanks to the courageous intervention of a passenger, worse things were apparently prevented in an accident in Walsrode this morning. Around 11 a.m., the 69-year-old driver of a Mercedes lost control in a popular shopping street due to health problems and accelerated his car uncontrollably. The co-driver recognized the situation, grabbed the steering wheel and steered the car to the right against a parked small car. Due to the force of the collision, the Opel slammed into a street lamp, the Mercedes crashed into a house wall. Rescue workers were able to resuscitate the unconscious driver on site. He was taken to a hospital for further treatment. According to initial reports, the passenger was not injured.
"Medical emergency" leads to an accident on the L550 near Sinsheim - traffic moving again

On Wednesday morning there was an accident with a subsequent accident on the L550 near Sinsheim. Medical emergency: 53-year-old from Dortmund drives car into supermarket

Late on Saturday evening, the fire brigade and rescue service were alerted at around 9:45 p.m. to the traffic accident in Dortmund-Aplerbeck. According to the fire brigade, a car had driven straight from Schuuferstraße into the entrance of the supermarket and stopped in the area of the post office, probably due to a medical emergency on the part of the driver. Miraculously, no other people were injured in the still busy supermarket. The Dortmund police have now started investigating the exact cause of the accident. The driver suffered a minor laceration in the accident. The injured driver was treated by the ambulance service and then transported to a hospital. The fire brigade carried out safety measures on the vehicle involved in the accident and on the installations in the shops located in the entrance area. The car was then finally taken outside. According to the police, the BMW broke through a glass door and damaged the facade, walls and shop fittings (counter, shelves). The car came to a stop after about 50 meters against a wall. A supermarket employee and another witness freed the man from the BMW and turned off the engine.
