Norton High School athletic trainer saves official timekeeper’s life after football game
November 6, 2022
Norton, MA — The Norton High School football team was ending their first game on their new football field Saturday night when the official timekeeper collapsed from an apparent heart attack. But thanks to the quick actions of the team’s trainer and coach, he is now recovering a nearby hospital. The stands were packed Saturday night and many of them watched the horror unfold. But there was one person people knew to turn to. That was Norton High School’s Athletic Trainer, Kathryn “Kat” Sevigny. The 26-year-old ran over to the man who she said had no pulse and was not breathing. “I just went. Training took over, I guess, because I was just in another world,” Sevigny said. After trying CPR, she called for her AED in a final attempt to bring the man back to consciousness. And it worked. “He went from lifeless to talking,” said Sevigny. “It felt like a million years. But I think it was in a span of five minutes.”

Måneskin: Damiano David interrupts the concert due to the illness of a fan (and saves him)
November 6, 2022
Like it or not, Måneskin are a national pride: their latest single, "The Loneliest", has already earned more than 40 million streams on the Spotify app, as they conclude their American tour, they organize the stops for the Italian one in 2023 and announce the release of the new album, “Rush”. As if that weren't enough, during a live in Mexico City, the 4 very young talents also proved to be able to manage delicate and potentially very dangerous situations, such as the illness of a fan in the audience. In an already viral video on TikTok, the leader of the group, Damiano David, is seen interrupting the concert to incite security to help the fan and invite those present to make space around him. It often happens that singers are "forced" to interrupt a song or music to intervene on dynamics in the audience, either to end an insulting chorus from the audience towards the artist on stage, or to help a girl in the audience harassed by others present. In the case of the interruption of a song by Måneskin in Mexico City, the reason lies in the illness of one of the fans in the front row, who alarmed the band's frontman. Damiano David has never appeared to the general public as an indifferent person, especially for the sensitivity shown to women carried out together with his girlfriend and activist Giorgia Soleri, and also on this occasion he reiterated his concern for his audience.

Faye Fantarrow: Donations pour in for singer with rare tumour
November 8, 2022
A singer diagnosed with cancer for a third time has been "overwhelmed" that donations to a fundraiser for her treatment have exceeded £100,000. Faye Fantarrow, 20, from Sunderland, was twice diagnosed with leukaemia as a child and found out in August she had a rare and aggressive brain tumour. The only treatment available is in California and costs about £450,000. Eurythmics musician Dave Stewart, who has been mentoring Faye, has pledged £50,000 towards the procedure. His former band member Annie Lennox has also donated £10,000 to the fundraiser, which was set up a week ago.
"Things were going well and then my body decided to throw me the curved ball of a glioma brain tumour into the mix, to spice things up a bit, but it's the third time so it's not my first rodeo," she said. Faye was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia when she was eight and underwent two-and-a-half years of chemotherapy. The cancer returned when she was a teenager and she underwent a bone marrow transplant and further chemotherapy. "This time it's a rare one, a bit strange and doctors aren't sure where it came from, 'cos it came quickly which is why I'm having to go for this CAR-T cell treatment in California because it's a rare tumour," she said. She has already undergone radiotherapy to try to shrink the tumour and is waiting to have scans which will determine when she can travel to the City of Hope hospital in Duarte, California.
