Bruce Willis’s Family Shares Major Update on Actor’s Health
February 16, 2023
Bruce Willis’s family announced Thursday that the “Die Hard” actor was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, confirming that his condition “progressed” after he stepped away from acting last year.
In March 2022, his family said Willis, 67, was diagnosed with aphasia and was “stepping away” from acting.
His ex-wife, actress Demi Moore, confirmed the frontotemporal dementia diagnosis in an Instagram post on Thursday. Some health authorities say the condition is an “uncommon type of dementia” that can lead to problems with language and behavior.
“Our family wanted to start by expressing our deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love, support and wonderful stories we have all received since sharing Bruce’s original diagnosis,” Moore, who shares three children with Willis, wrote on behalf of the family. “In the spirit of that, we wanted to give you an update about our beloved husband, father and friend since we now have a deeper understanding of what he is experiencing.”
The statement, accompanied by a photo of Willis, added that “since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD).”

Zohreen Shah gives an update on her Bell's palsy
February 15, 2023
Zohreen Shah was diagnosed with Bell's palsy in January. She's pointing to the side of her face that temporarily could not move
Zohreen Shah is a Los Angeles-based national reporter for ABC News. Below, she shares the story of a medical journey she faced both on and off camera. “At first, I thought I was having a stroke last month. I didn't recognize myself in the mirror. It looked like the left side of my face had gone ‘offline.’ Half my face was totally frozen. I screamed, cried and called 911. EMTs arrived, telling me what a doctor would later confirm: I was actually suffering from Bell's palsy, a rare nerve disability where half the face stays temporarily frozen for weeks -- sometimes months. The onset is often confused for a stroke.” Age 38
Jackson State football player Kaseem Vauls resuscitated after cardiac arrest
February 17, 2023
Kaseem Vauls, a 21-year-old defensive lineman from Jackson State’s football team in 2022, suffered cardiac arrest Wednesday morning, prompting doctors to resuscitate him and put him on a ventilator, according to a series of tweets from his father, William .
William told The Clarion-Ledger that Vauls was in stable condition — “but still critical,” he added — as of Thursday night. Vauls went into the University of Mississippi Medical Center on Tuesday night with stomach pains and suffered cardiac arrest Wednesday morning.
Vauls was placed on a ventilator and underwent surgery later that afternoon. He’s still “heavily sedated.” A cardiologist informed William that Vauls’ heart was only functioning at around 10-15%, he told The Clarion-Ledger.
“What the doctors think happened, that when Kaseem’s heart was failing, that what was giving him the stomach pains,” William told The Clarion-Ledger. “His liver was suffering as fluid built up with toxins in his liver, kidneys and blood. All those toxins built up in his blood stream and his heart could not operate properly and the machine is being used to clean out the blood and toxins.”

Meanwhile, Damar Hamlin (or “Damar Hamlin”) won’t discuss what caused his cardiac arrest:
Damar Hamlin Awkwardly Declines To Say What Doctors Told Him Caused His Cardiac Arrest: “Something I’m Going To Stay Away From”
February 15, 2023
Back in January, the NFL world was shaken to its core when Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest on the field against the Cincinnati Bengals….
[S]ince the cardiac arrest, many have speculated on what exactly caused it, considering Hamlin is only 24 and in peak physical condition.
One of the most popular theories is Commotio Cordis, which is essentially perfectly-timed blunt force trauma to the heart that interrupts the normal rhythm and stops the heart.
A very rare occurrence that is much more common in sports like baseball, softball and hockey where the projectile is smaller than say a shoulder pad or the helmet of Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins.
And another is of course, the Covid-19 vaccine. It’s no secret that there at least seems to be an uptick in heart-related medical problems among athletes since 2020. The CDC even reports that myocarditis and pericarditis are rare, but possible, side-effects of the vaccine, and that they continue to monitor and study the data.
But, if you were looking for some answers, Hamlin is not willing to discuss it.
The Bills safety sat down with Michael Strahan on Good Morning America, and Strahan asked the question:
“You’re 24, in peak physical condition, could run circles around me right now… how did doctors describe what happened to you?”
That’s when Hamlin, after a very long and awkward pause, said:
“Ummm… That’s something I’m going to stay away from.”
Strahan then followed up by saying that NFL players are constantly scanned and checked out, and asked if Hamlin ever had any heart issues prior to the Bengals game:
“I know from my experiences in the NFL, they do more tests than anything. And in the course of you having your physical, did anybody ever come back with any, saying you had a heart issue or anything that was abnormal?”
Hamlin said:
“Honestly no. I’ve always been the young, fit, energetic human being, let alone athlete.
It was something that we’re just still processing, and still talking through with my doctors just to see what everything was.”
Regardless of what it was, it’s easy to see that Hamlin is not ready to have that conversation yet. Visibly uncomfortable, he seemed very hesitant to say anything that would get him fined or in trouble.

Special Forces sends another Olympian home after life-threatening medical scare
February 16, 2023
It probably won’t come as a surprise to fans of Special Forces: World's Toughest Test that the challenges have become increasingly harder and the directing staff agents haven't let up in applying pressure on the celebrity contestants .
While many on the show's cast have shocked viewers with their determination and ability to complete the various tests and obstacle courses, week by week five contestants have stood out: Gus Kenworthy, Carli Lloyd, Hannah Brown, Dwight Howard and Danny Amendola. They've all proven they have the mental and physical toughness to go the distance. Unfortunately, one of them was forced to leave due to a medical emergency in the episode that aired on February 15. That person was Olympic silver medalist, Gus.
The events that led to his departure started after he completed one of the tests for the week, but later realized that he misplaced his training gear (his numbered armband). In the Special Forces world, misplacing gear is a punishable offense and directing staff agent Remi Adeleke was certainly glad to remind Gus of that. Remi ordered the Olympian to get completely wet, cover his body with sand and then do 20 burpees. In comparison to some of the challenges, the task didn't seem incredibly challenging, yet things went terribly wrong.
Shortly after doing the burpees, Gus started to become incredibly ill. He informed Carli that he was experiencing chest pain and then started to violently vomit. The medics on hand immediately assisted Gus, who by then also complained that it felt as if something was in his throat and he was experiencing stomach pains.
As it turns out, Gus suffered from a "life-threatening anaphylactic reaction." Since the medics were unable to pinpoint the cause of the reaction and were fearful of a possible "rebound anaphylaxis," Gus was forced to medically withdraw from the competition.

Thank you for the concise compilation of cases that are becoming all too common.
I don’t think Damar Hamlin is alive, unfortunately. There are death records as well as his “double” doesn’t have a tattoo on his neck nor a beauty mark on his lip, as Damar did. I hope I’m wrong 😑 but this dude is not Damar, IMO
