California Meteorologist Faints, Falls out of Her Chair During a Live Broadcast
March 19, 2023
A California meteorologist fainted on air Saturday morning just as her segment began, startling her colleagues.
Alissa Carlson Schwartz, a meteorologist at CBS L.A., was preparing to deliver a weather report during the outlet’s 7:00 a.m. broadcast when she tilted her head forward at her desk and then slid out of her chair.
Upon realizing what had happened, the show’s anchors responded with shock before cutting to a commercial break.
“Thanks for all the texts, calls & messages. I’m going to be ok!” Schwartz later wrote in a Facebook post
TMZ noted that Schwartz have previously discussed having a heart condition, which she said she discovered after a 2014 episode in which she vomited during a newscast. It is unclear whether her collapse on Saturday is related to this condition.
In a 2018 segment for KGET, where Schwarz then worked as the chief meteorologist, she said the health scare led to a doctor’s appointment and the discovery that she had a leaky heart valve, which would likely need to be replaced at some point in the future.
Later, nine months after giving birth to her daughter, she said she began to experience chest pains. After seeking medical attention, she learned stem cells from her daughter had caused the valve to “repair itself.”
“The stem cells from my baby had started to heal my heart,” she said tearfully, “I feel like I owe it to people and everybody and to God to give back and to spread this story and to realize that you may have something that you don’t even know you have.”
Schwartz was inspired by her condition to become an advocate for heart health, even serving as chair of the American Heart Association’s Circle of Red Initiative.
KGET reported in 2018 that Carlson had been named Mrs. California and later placed in the top 15 in the Mrs. America Pageant.

KCAL-CBS claims that Schwartz is “resting and recovering”:
Watch: Houston podcast taping interrupted by SUV crash
March 9, 2023
March 8 (UPI) -- A pair of men recording a podcast at a Houston cafe captured video of the moment an SUV smashed into the windows right behind their seats.
Podcast host Nathan Reeves and his guest, friend and photographer Alexsey Reyes, were recording the fifth episode of Reeves' podcast inside the Tout Suite off Commerce Street during the weekend, when their video camera captured the moment the vehicle struck the windows behind them.
"We were just talking to the camera, and the car smashes into our backs. I go into instant shock. I'm not sure what's going on," Reyes told KTRK-TV.
The moment occurred just seconds after Reeves remarked on how quiet it was inside the cafe.
"I was freaking out, I turned to everyone in the cafe, and I'm like, 'I got that all on film.' Everyone got a front-row seat, there was no one at the table with us, and they all saw what happened," Reeves said.
Reeves and Reyes were not injured in the crash. They said the family inside the SUV were also uninjured.
The crash was reported to Houston police.

Moment a truck crashes through bus stop, several lawns during driver's medical episode
March 8, 2023
Dash cam footage captured the terrifying moment that a transport truck veered off the road in Adelaide, South Australia, driving on the sidewalk, crashing into fences and smashing into a bus stop.
In the video, the eighteen-wheeler can be seen drifting off the road and onto the sidewalk, taking out a signpost and then a telephone pole before briefly returning to the road.
The truck speeds through an intersection, narrowly missing another car stopped at a red light, before smashing into a bus shelter and ploughing headlong into a line of hedges, trees, and fences.
Paul Brackley, the driver whose dashcam recorded the incident, told Storyful that he was first on the scene after the truck finally came to a halt.
“I helped the driver out of the cabin; I think he was in shock, but ok and just had some blood on his face; he just said he fainted,” Brackley said. “There was a really terrible noise coming from the truck, and I thought it might even blow up or catch fire; I learned afterwards the truck had hit a gas main.”
Local news reports that the transport company DTL Timbers told 7News Adelaide that the driver had a medical episode behind the wheel. No one other than the driver was harmed in the incident.
