Brazil’s Lula postpones China trip after catching pneumonia

Brazil’s president, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, has indefinitely postponed his trip to China and key talks with President Xi Jinping so he can recover from pneumonia, the presidential palace said. The left-wing leader, 77, was admitted to a hospital in the capital, Brasilia, with flu-like symptoms and was diagnosed with “bacterial and viral bronchopneumonia due to influenza A”, the palace said in a statement. Lula’s health was reassessed on Saturday, and despite improvement, he was advised to “postpone the trip to China until the cycle of viral transmission ends”, the statement said.

Craig Charles was rushed to hospital after falling ill during his BBC Radio 6 Music show on Wednesday.
The former Red Dwarf actor, 58, shockingly lost the use of his hands due to a mystery ailment, and failing to grasp a pen before also being struck with pain.
Nevertheless Craig, who has hosted the Funk and Soul show since 2002, soldiered on with the broadcast before wife Jackie rushed him to A&E later that night.

Devastated Linda Nolan reveals cancer has spread to her brain

Singer Linda Nolan has shared the sad news that the cancer she has been living with for six years has now spread to her brain.
The Irish star, who rose to fame with her sisters as part of the girl group The Nolans in 1974, was initially diagnosed with cancer in 2005, when she was told she had stage three breast cancer.
She underwent treatment and received the all-clear the following year, but in 2017 Nolan learned she'd developed a form of incurable secondary cancer in her hip.
The cancer later spread to her liver, and she's now confirmed it has spread even further as she offered an update on ITV's Good Morning Britain.
Speaking today (27 March), Nolan acknowledged that fans had been reaching out to ask her for updates, so she wanted to speak out to ensure her answer was coming directly from her.
"Unfortunately, sadly for me, my cancer has now spread to my brain," Nolan said.

Talk Show Host Left Unable to Walk After Gym Injury

Loose Women host Kaye Adams is opening up about a recent fitness class injury. The 60-year-old revealed on a recent episode of her Kaye Adams: How to be 60 podcast that she was left unable to walk after her leg suddenly "stopped working" while walking through London.
According to Adams, she was "in the middle of London... walking from Goodge Street to Bank" when her leg "literally stopped working... My leg just gave up on me." Adams said "it was so embarrassing, sharing that she "couldn't get up the stairs at the tube station. You know when you put one leg up first and then you drag the other up, you look like Frankenstein's Monster. I just couldn't understand what was happening to me. Usually at a tube station I flamboyantly skip up and down the stairs – 'look at me, I'm 60 and I'm skipping!'"

Loose Women presenter Kaye, 58, is one of the many to take precautions, after the reports a new "super-strain" Covid variant called Omicron had been detected in Essex and Nottingham.
The broadcaster told her fans earlier this week she would be getting her third jab and on Saturday night, informed her fans of her reaction to the vaccine dose.
Speaking to her 116,000 followers on Instagram, she reassured people she was feeling "tickety boo" after getting boosted with the lifesaving vaccine.
"So no I have not spend the last 24 hours in this car, but it has been 24 hours since I had my booster, so I thought I would fill you in on the side effect that I have experienced," she teased viewers of her Instagram Stories.
On a second Story, she revealed: "None. Nada. Zilch. Net, Nothing, Rien, I'm tickety boo."
Kaye has been a vocal supporter of the Covid vaccine and urged people to get protected as the pandemic rages on.
Earlier this month, she clashed with her Loose Women co-star Carol McGiffin during a discussion about whether carers who refuse to be vaccinated should be sacked.
Carol, 61, has been passionately sharing her anti-vaxx and opposition to lockdown on social media over the past two years.

Metal Legends Cancel the Rest of Their Tour Over COVID-19 Woes

English heavy metal band Saxon has canceled the remaining shows of the European leg of their Seize the Day World Tour. Saxon had three dates lest of the leg – a March 17 show in Dresden, a March 18 show in Linz, Austria, and a March 19 stop in Ulm, Germany – but announced in a March 17 Facebook post that the shows were being postponed after vocalist Biff Byford tested positive for COVID-19.
"We are very sorry, but due to Biff Byford catching Covid whilst on tour, the remaining European dates in Dresden, Linz and Ulm are cancelled and we are looking to reschedule them as soon as possible," the band announced. "Again we are very sorry for all the inconvenience this causes but is way beyond anyone's control. Keep the faith."

A Spanish third-tier match has been abandoned after a player suddenly collapsed. An ambulance rushed to the pitch after Cordoba ace Dragisa Gudelj fainted during the game against Racing Ferrol at the Estadio Nuevo Arcangel. The incident took place in the 11th minute of the first half in front of a worried crowd. According to Marca, Gudelj suffered a cardiac arrest and was thankfully revived by the medical team. The centre-back left the stadium in the ambulance while conscious and the crowd showed their support with a standing ovation. The 25-year-old appeared to be wanting to carry on despite the worrying incident but he was ultimately taken to Reina Sofia hospital for observation. Cordoba assured the fans on social media that Gudelj is in stable condition. The club also thanked the medical team that acted swiftly to "save" the Serbian. Gudelj is the younger brother of Sevilla ace Nemanja Gudelj, who plays in LaLiga.
