Cross-country star Victoria Carl explains goal collapse

Completely exhausted at the finish: Victoria Carl.(Photo: IMAGO/Newspix24)
Victoria Carl put in a strong performance at the start of the World Cup for cross-country skiers in Ruka, Finland, but overreached herself at the last entry and collapsed at the finish. She is now doing well again and the 27-year-old explains what exactly happened to her. The start of the new World Cup season was excellent for the German cross-country skiers in Ruka, Finland, but it was also overshadowed by Victoria Carl's collapse. In the 20-kilometer race on Sunday, the athlete collapses after a strong race and 14th place at the finish. After crossing the finish line, Carl was no longer able to stand on her feet, collapsed and had to be picked up and supported by her teammate Katharina Hennig, who after third place over 10 kilometers had finished 13th over double the distance.
With some distance, the 27-year-old is now talking about her collapse. "I ran out of breath on the last hill. I had no strength left," Carl said in an interview with the Norwegian newspaper "Dagbladet": "I can't remember crossing the finish line." Carl lost control of her limbs. "I had no more feeling in my legs," said the 27-year-old: "I didn't get enough oxygen and couldn't stand on my own two feet without help." A completely unfamiliar situation for Carl. "But I know that I can go beyond my limits and that something like that can happen," said the German Olympic heroine from Beijing, where she won gold in the team sprint and silver in the relay: "I'm glad that I could exceed the limit." The collapse had no consequences, as national coach Peter Schlickenrieder explained. "Everything is fine with Victoria. It was a tough competition and she was very tired at the finish, but after five minutes she was fit again," said the 52-year-old. When Carl is in good shape, "she manages to make a real effort and sometimes even pushes the limits, like in this case," added Schlickenrieder.
A choir of (literal) poster boys for “vaccination”:
Wave of illness flattens boy's choir Kreuzchor! Advent tour cancelled
December 2, 2022
The boy's choir Kreuzchor was supposed have performed in Magdeburg on Friday, in Stade on Saturday and in the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg on Sunday. However, all three guest performances by the Dresden choir were canceled at short notice. Reason: 43 of the 69 scheduled young singers are sick! "Of course, no concerts are possible," says Kreuzchor spokeswoman Nina Bewerunge. The Crucians were probably hit by the current rampant wave of respiratory diseases in Germany, from which children in particular suffer. The boys had a cold and fever. But all of them tested negative for the corona virus. "The cancellation of the concert in the Elbphilharmonie is particularly tragic," says Bewerung. Now the boys are on their way back to Dresden. However, the pre-Christmas activities of the choir should not be canceled due to the seasonal wave of illnesses.
VACCINATION ALSO PROTECTS THE CULTURE
Our cultural life also depends on a high vaccination rate. That is why the Dresdner Kreuzchor supports the "Vaccination also protects culture" initiative of the Dresden cultural institutions. Kreuzkantor Roderich Kreile expressly welcomes the initiative of the Dresden cultural institutions. Boys' choirs in particular have been severely affected by the restrictions imposed by the pandemic. "Out of a sense of responsibility for the children and young people entrusted to us, I strongly recommend that you take advantage of appropriate vaccinations," said the choir kantor.

One year ago, her life was turned upside down - now she will live out her dream in the USA
November 28, 2022
The world-renowned Norwegian trumpeter Tine Thing Helseth has traveled the world with the trumpet. But last autumn she fell ill suddenly. A little over a year ago, Tine Thing Helseth found a lump on her neck which caused her to see a doctor. Just a few days later, the doctor called back and said she needed to come in right away. It was in the middle of preparations for last year's Christmas tour. “It turned out to be a lymph node, so I went to the doctor straight away. Then they took some tests, blood tests and it didn't really look that dramatic,” she says and continues: “But after they got the test results, the doctor called and said - in short then: You're going to the emergency room now, and then they're going to take some tests and a CT and then we're going to check that it's not cancer. She goes on to say that she still understood the seriousness. “After that CT, the doctor came in, sat down and said that they had found something, and that it was most likely cancer, she continues. On that day a little over a year ago, she received the message that turned her life upside down. “It was unreal. I actually still think it's a bit unreal that I've had it. It's something other people get.”

He has an illness during the sports demonstration: fear for a man
December 9, 2022
Moments of fear this afternoon at the "La Grangia" Shopping Center in Cisterna di Latina. Here during a martial arts demonstration, a middle-aged man was seized by a sudden illness. The man was lying on the ground unconscious and not breathing. Once on the spot, the rescue services revived him for several minutes, fortunately managing to avoid the worst of the epilogues. Currently his identity is not known but it is likely that he was one of the parents of the students present at the demonstration. There was a lot of fright among those present who, during the rescue operations, were asked to clear the area to facilitate the work of the health workers.
Christmas miracle, one-year-old boy saved by the police: "One more minute and he would have died".
December 8, 2022
For parents it is a Christmas miracle, a fairy tale with a happy ending, a life returned when it seemed lost. For the carabinieri who facilitated his rescue, an exciting experience, also lived as parents. The story is that of a one-year-old boy who turned out last month who suddenly passed out and stopped responding to mom and dad. The parents, then, we are in via Chiaromonte, in East Naples, put him in the car and started a desperate race to the hospital. A march, however, despite the horn, blocked by city traffic. A carabinieri patrol from the Barra station is not far away. He hears the noise and sees the baby in his mother's arms. He makes his way with flashing lights and sirens, standing in front of their car and making a sign to follow them. From the window they shout, stressing that it is an emergency. In a few moments they are in the emergency room of the Villa Betania hospital. They escort the mother and baby inside and entrust him to the doctors. The baby is intubated and undergoes cardiac massage. His heart has stopped beating, he's in cardiac arrest. When all seems lost, here is the miracle. A disruptive cry is the signal of the baby's return to life. For the doctors, "one more minute and he would have died". The baby is fine now.
A mayor five times “vaccinated” is now the hospital, “improving”:
The condition of the mayor Corsaro, hospitalized for an illness, improves
December 2, 2022
The health conditions of the mayor of Vercelli, Andrea Corsaro, are improving, after being caught two days ago by a sudden illness at the end of the City Council. Currently the mayor is hospitalized at the Sant'Andrea hospital in Vercelli, and sources close to the family assure that already from the day of admission to the ward, the Vercelli lawyer had already shown signs of improvement in his state of health. However, the mayor remains under observation and has carried out a series of medical tests since the first hours of his arrival at Sant'Andrea. For days, says those who have been close to him in these last hours, the mayor felt some pain in his leg and back; this did not stop him in normal administrative activity, just as it did not prevent his participation in the ANCI national assembly that took place last week in Bergamo, together with dozens of other fellow mayors from all over Italy. Corsaro took part in the event as president of Anci Piemonte. Two days ago, both at the beginning and at the end of the council assembly, he felt some physical discomfort and was then taken to Sant'Andrea, where he was immediately put under observation by doctors. Although already in the hours immediately following the hospitalization, say the sources close to the family, the lawyer had a more relaxed tone of voice, and also expressed positive comments about the efficiency of the Vercelli hospital system, even going so far as to joke with doctors. He has always been vigilant and at the city hospital he is continuously assisted by his family. As soon as the word spread of the illness that affected the mayor, numerous friends, fellow lawyers and administrators wished the Vercelli native a speedy recovery.
The mayor was "vaccinated" (five times):

Ricky Ponting returns after getting taken to hospital, reveals ‘scary’ details
December 3, 2022
[Former Australian cricket captain] Ricky Ponting has returned to Perth Stadium to resume his commentary role with Channel 7 after suffering a health scare on Friday. Ponting was taken to hospital after suffering a medical episode during day three of the First Test between Australia and the West Indies. He was admitted and remained under observation on Friday night. It was reported on Friday night his former Test teammate Justin Langer helped Ponting seek medical advice in the minutes leading up to the decision for him to be taken to hospital. The former Test skipper also revealed he first began to feel “unwell” while he was live on air early in the day’s play. “I was sitting in the comms box halfway through the stint and got a couple of really short and sharp pains to my chest. I tried to stretch it out and get rid of it, and probably didn’t want to give too much away when I was on air. I had a couple of those incidents, got through the stint and went to walk to the back of the commentary box and got lightheaded and dizzy and grabbed the bench. I mentioned to JL on the way out, who was commentating with me, that I had had these pains in my chest and Chris Jones (Seven Cricket’s executive producer) heard me and just reacted straight away and got me out of there. 10 or 15 minutes later, I was in the hospital getting the best treatment that I possibly could.” Ponting’s heart complaint was not believed to be serious. Scares such as this will hit close to home. This is the first summer without Shane Warne, who died aged 52 after a heart attack in Thailand in March. Warne’s death came just hours after the passing of fellow Aussie cricket legend Rod Marsh.

Never have I heard of so many famous people dropping in mid-performance. Astounding! You'd think that, once it happened to them personally, they would finally speak out. Are they really that stupid, or simply afraid to speak?
