Good for you, Mark. I remember Walter Reuther and how we admired him. There is such an undercurrent washing beneath us, that we all (thoughtful ones at least) feel like we are standing in quick sand. We can appreciate the ones who take risks to bring it all to light, and yet it is all such a hopeless endeavor. In a world ruled by "computer people", we ordinary good intentioned human beings have to rely on the kindness of strangers (strangers who want to do us all in). Does that mean that we suspend our humanity and just stand by while they eviscerate us? You are living proof that we do not do that. The ultimate redemption for us will come from within (the kingdom of God within each of us), not from without. One's greatness as a human being facing such odds is to be true to our own better values while we are still standing, and to await the cherishing arms of some higher entity (which doesn't follow "the science") that will bundle our true essence to its well-deserved and eternal home.
