A hiker in her twenties died on Sunday, May 7 at the Demandolx Pass following a heart attack. This Friday at the end of the afternoon, a 49-year-old man died at the wheel of his car in Bas-en-Basset, on the road between the roundabout and the campsite. The well-known Leiden photographer Niek Bavelaar died unexpectedly on Saturday of a cardiac arrest. He turned 79 years old. For decades, Niek was a welcome sight at numerous events where he was always at the front with his camera at the ready. Due to his merits, he was awarded a royal honor in 2018. Bavelaar took photos for, among others, the 3 October Vereeniging and also for the Historical Association Oud Leiden. For example, he made a major contribution to the calendar of the Historical Association every year. When the Hooglandse Church celebrated its 700th anniversary in 2015, the book 'Seven centuries of the Hooglandse Kerk - the cathedral of light' was published. Thanks to the cooperation of Niek Bavelaar, the book was richly illustrated. He also made numerous photos for the Leids Kerkblad of the Leidse Binnenstadsgemeente. Niek Bavelaar was a well-known appearance in the city because of his activities as a photographer. He took more than a hundred thousand photos of his city Leiden. Niek was everywhere and mainly focused on documentation photography.

It came as a huge shock and completely unexpected, when Morten Ruskjær Friday the 31st. March learned that his father, Torben Strøm Ruskjær, had just died - at the age of just 62 years. Morten Ruskjær had talked to his father an hour earlier. There was nothing unusual. “My father had just measured the tiles at an address on Granvej in Frederiks. He got into the car to calculate the price. The customer looked out the window and could see my father drinking a soda while he was writing down. When he looked out again three or four minutes later, my father lay across the wheel and was dead. It came like lightning from a clear sky”, says Morten Ruskjær. At the beginning of the 90s he belonged to the top of the best triple jumpers in Europe. He was a protégé of coaches: Henryk Olszewski (club) and Andrzej Lasocki (team). He competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, where he finished 12th. A year earlier, he won the European Cup Group B. The representative Polish in interstate matches. His friends remember him not only as an outstanding artist, but also as a good, kind man with a great distance and a sense of humour. Wojtek Jakubek informed about his father's death today on Facebook: "Today at 10:45 an amazing man, a great musician, and above all a great father, husband and grandfather passed away from us. The unequal fight he fought over the past few months took a beloved person with a unique sense of humor, distance to life, able to relieve any awkward or tense situation. The cheerfulness that characterized him always brought a lot of smile, happiness and acceptance to our family. Today, despite its sad beginning, I treat today as the end of some unpleasant time and a well-deserved rest for dad. We will not forget that what he did for our family, bringing so much warmth, support and relaxed atmosphere to it. I hope Dudzik that you are better there ... A dramatic event took place on Tuesday morning on the road leading through the village of Ostrowite in the municipality of Trzemeszno, where a man driving a car fainted. The incident occurred on May 2, around 6:30 a.m. According to trzemeszno24.info, a man driving a Volkswagen car, driving through Ostrowite, suddenly drove to the side of the road and stopped the vehicle there, and after a while he lost consciousness. Karate fighter Josu García de Albéniz dies at Viña Rock

Josu García de Albéniz, a 25-year-old karate fighter from Vitoria, died suddenly on Saturday night at Viña Rock, the festival held last weekend in Villarrobledo (Albacete).
