Gunter Nezhoda, best known for appearing in “Storage Wars,” has died aged 67 following a battle with cancer. Nezhoda died in his sleep on Tuesday night after being diagnosed with lung cancer just six months ago, his son Rene confirmed to TMZ. Rene said his father was diagnosed in September after being a smoker for over 30 years. He said chemotherapy left holes in his dad’s lungs, prompting him to fly to Utah for emergency surgery. Unfortunately, medics told them there was nothing more they could do.

According to Deadline, he died of cardiac complications after suffering a torn aorta. It's unclear if he died at home or in the hospital. Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Lori Reesor said in a letter to students and employees that the individual died outside of Smith Residence Hall. Reesor noted that there is no foul play suspected, and that the UW–Madison Police Department and Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office are still investigating.

Purdue succumbed to the rare disease Thursday. He was 19. Purdue, who played center for the Panthers and had planned to go to college at IUP, was blue collar and easygoing, mild-mannered and humorous. Purdue was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma last summer and underwent numerous treatments in Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C.

Berkeley, CA - Lillia Bartlow, a multitalented Berkeley High sophomore, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 17, 2023. Bartlow accomplished an incredible amount in her 16 years. She was fluent in three languages (English, French and Arabic) and conversational in another (Berber), was a member of Berkeley High’s cheerleading squad and was enrolled in the academically rigorous International Baccalaureate program. According to the Berkeley Scanner, Bartlow went to school on Friday but came home early because she wasn’t feeling well. She passed away at her Ashby Avenue home later that day.

Jadon had an immense love for Jesus and a passion for serving others. His life was shaped by his upbringing in Honduras, where his parents Matt and Dallita Goins, ’00 PCC graduates, have faithfully served as missionaries since 2002. When not on the mission field, Jadon actively served in the children’s ministry and the greeting team at his sending church, which helped confirm his call to ministry and preparation at PCC. As a student, he was immersed in collegian life, playing several collegian sports for the Vikings. Though we may never fully understand why this happened, we take comfort in knowing that Jadon is now with his Lord and Savior. PCC students, faculty, and staff extend their prayers and love to his parents, as well as his two brothers Joash (PCC sophomore) and Justus and the entire Goins family. A Pembroke [NH] Fire Department lieutenant died suddenly after returning home from a fire last week and succumbing to a severe medical incident, fire officials said. Terrence Judge, 64, of Allenstown, was a 33-year veteran of the department and served as the officer-in-charge on Tower 1, Fire Chief Paul Gagnon said in a news release. Gagnon did not specify if Judge’s cause of death was related to the fire incident. Judge’s obituary stated he died at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston as the result of a sudden illness.

North Syracuse, N.Y. — North Syracuse’s longest serving, active firefighter has died 2 1/2 months after he suffered a heart attack at the scene of a house fire in the village. Firefighter Peter Dromms, a 55-year veteran of the North Syracuse Fire Department, died Saturday. He was 77. Dromms had surgery after his heart attack, was released from the hospital, but quickly returned a day or two later due to complications, North Syracuse Fire Chief Pat Brennan said. Shortly before midnight on Jan. 13, Dromms was helping with exterior operations, staging lights and moving fans, trying to help get fresh air into a house on fire in the 600 block of Chestnut Street, the chief said. Dromms walked over to a fellow firefighter and a former EMT, and said he wasn’t feeling well, the chief said. He appeared pale and sweaty, he said. Firefighters alerted NAVAC ambulance crews who were already on the scene because initially it was thought an elderly person might be inside. Dromms was having a heart attack, Brennan said.

Former Battalion Chief Jeff Pfeiffer suffered a cardiac arrest at the Almonesson Lake Firehouse on Thursday night, according to the Gloucester County Office of Emergency Management. The Deptford Fire Department first announced his passing on Saturday. As the medical emergency happened at the station following a fire response, Pfeiffer's passing has been recognized as a Line of Duty Death. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.

Sergeant Tieman suffered a heart attack at his home in the early evening of March 24 and was quickly responded to by YCSO deputies and Emergency Medical Services. He was then stabilized and transported to the Yavapai Regional Medical Center, where he later passed away. Sergeant Tieman was a dedicated and loyal public servant in Arizona for over 25 years.

Bieszck got the ‘Piss Jug’ nickname because he was not seen without his signature jug of tea that happened to look exactly like piss. “When we travelled he use to bring 3 or 4 gallons of that tea with us and I use to say, Bro, it looks like you drinking piss,” Monroe II wrote.

Tarentum, PA - Ashley Kertes, the 36-year-old wife of Westmoreland County Commissioner Sean Kertes, died unexpectedly Friday morning. Greensburg Mayor Robb Bell said police were called to Kertes’ home shortly before 7:30 a.m., where she was found unresponsive in bed. No foul play is suspected. The cause of her death has not been disclosed, officials said. “It is so profoundly sad. Ashley is one of the most talented and brightest stars in the city,” Bell said. Kertes worked as the associate administrator to the superintendent and community outreach in the Greensburg Salem School District. She previously worked for four years as the executive director of the Greensburg Community Development Corporation and at the courthouse in Westmoreland County’s fiscal department and Controller’s Office. Kertes is the daughter of North Huntingdon District Judge Wayne Gongaware. Her mother works at the courthouse as a court assistant. Word of Ashley Kertes’ death spread quickly Friday. “She was an angel, a beautiful woman. Everybody who met her liked her,” said county Controller Jeffrey Balzer. “She is what you hope your daughter will grow up to be.”

Driver killed in single-vehicle crash in Carbondale

Carbondale, Ill. - First responders were called shortly after 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22 to a single-vehicle crash in Carbondale. According to police, a vehicle crashed into a utility pole and the driver was found unresponsive. Police said officers began life-saving efforts and the driver was taken by ambulance to a Carbondale hospital, but they did not survive. The identity of the drive is not being released at this time. Police said the cause of death is preliminarily being attributed to a medical-related event before the crash.

Caring for her ailing grandmother, who was paralyzed from brain surgery, prompted her to attend Nursing School. Aisha would often say, "I plan on taking care of Grandma until the day when either one of us dies," and that's exactly what she did. She enjoyed fishing, swimming, traveling, dancing, watching football, and spending time with her family, friends, and her four godchildren.

He was often working on multiple DIY projects, gunsmithing, or woodworking. He loved music and documentaries, and was always trying to learn something new. There are not enough words to detail all the love, support, and joy he brought into his home. Bryan was not a religious man, but he always hoped he would be reunited with his many dogs, including Rocky, of whom he always said, "Rocky saved me as much as we rescued him."

Timothy “Tim” Stetser, 52, of Altoona, Pennsylvania, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. On November 9, 1991, he married his high school sweetheart, Linda Norris. Tim enjoyed gardening, working on computers, and especially loved driving and working on his 1976 Mustang. He also enjoyed camping and trains. He worked at Penn State University College of Agriculture for almost 10 years. His family meant everything to him.

He excelled in track and field, softball and basketball as well as surfing. To locals he was known as Surfer Mike or Miller. He was also an excellent golfer, tennis player, skater and snowboarder. Before he passed, Mike dreamed about opening a surf school for people struggling with substance abuse.

Alec had a love for all things Erie including attending downtown events and car shows. He loved the peninsula where he spent time biking with his dad, kayaking, fishing, and boating with friends. Seattle, Washington - Tim Ramage, age 56, passed away very suddenly at his home Saturday, February 25, 2023 from sudden cardiac arrest.

"Tim should have outlived just about everyone in my close circle of friends. His death comes as a shock. He was always so healthy. He died of a split second, sudden heart attack. He had just finished working out, as he loved to do. He said, 'I think I over did it, I'm going to lie down.' He walked into his bedroom and collapsed on the floor. Even with heroic efforts of Tim's wife, Beth and paramedics, his heart never restarted."

He was continually involved in construction, from building birdhouses in his grandfather's shop to "reconstructing" a motorcycle as a high school project, to doing a full remodel of Colonial House in York. He loved his family, friends, dog, and fast toys. He was always quick to provide a sarcastic response, but his heart was huge and his smile was contagious.
