Russ Meyer 'Ultra-Vixen' Kitten Natividad Dies at 74
September 25, 2022
Kitten Natividad, the busty adult-film actress who became a pop culture icon via her work with director Russ Meyer, reportedly died suddenly over the weekend. She was 74. Her friend, director Cody Jarrett, announced on Twitter, "It is with tremendous sadness we must announce the sudden passing of our dear friend and cast member, the beautiful, unforgettable Kitten Natividad." "We will love and miss you forever, Kitten," he went on, "and may every immeasurable drop of the love, beauty and goodness you bestowed upon others accompany you into the next realm, for all of eternity. God bless you, Kitten."
The Mexican-American exotic dancer was born February 13, 1948, moving from Mexico to the U.S. at age 10. She worked for actress Stella Stevens and at IBM before undergoing breast-implant surgery in 1969. While her new figure made her career, it also made her sick — she later learned industrial-grade silicone, not appropriate for use in the human body, had been used in her surgery. She also eventually underwent a double mastectomy to fight breast cancer. Upon being introduced to director Russ Meyer, Natividad appeared in his cult-classic films "Up!" (1976) and "Beneath the Valley of the Ultra-Vixens" (1979) — which was written by Meyer with film critic Roger Ebert. She went on to become his romantic partner for many years. Along with working in adult films, Natividad was also noted for stripping at Sean Penn's bachelor party in 1985 ahead of his wedding to Madonna, and for a variety of film credits that included "My Tutor" (1983), "Another 48 Hours" (1990).

Another “anything but the Jab” report on myocarditis:
Genetics may explain rare heart inflammation in some young people
September 26, 2022
Gene abnormalities may make some people more susceptible to myocarditis, a rare type of heart inflammation that can affect young people and athletes, a large new study shows. The findings, published Monday in the American Heart Association journal Circulation, could partially answer why otherwise healthy young people sometimes develop a condition that can lead to heart failure and sudden cardiac death, researchers said. In the rare instances when it happens, myocarditis "often affects young patients in the prime of life, and we've never understood why," said senior study author Dr. Sanjay Prasad, a professor of cardiomyopathy at the Imperial College London in the United Kingdom. He also is a consultant cardiologist at Royal Brompton Hospital in London.
The new, population-based study suggests that "it's not just random," he said. "For a subset of people, there's a gene that predisposes them to this, or makes them susceptible."
Myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart, frequently is triggered by a virus. The condition can progress to heart muscle disease that weakens the heart and its ability to pump blood. Myocarditis usually resolves on its own or with treatment, but in some cases it can cause lasting damage. It also can be fatal.

Widow wants answers after Arlington police recruit dies during training
September 27, 2022
Arlington, Texas - A seemingly healthy Arlington police recruit died suddenly while training over the weekend. The 40-year-old's widow is left baffled at what may have caused his death. Marquis Kennedy’s widow believes he was healthy. He had to pass a physical to get into the academy. Right now, they’re trying to figure out what caused his death. "We have and are asking the Arlington Police Department to be transparent with us and to answer the biggest question of them all," she said.
Arlington PD says Marquis had been training to be one of their officers since July 25 and never reported issues until Friday. Marquis was taking part in a real-life training scenario on how to defend against someone attacking them. The department says an instructor was playing the role of attacker. "During the training, Recruit Kennedy indicated that he was not feeling well, and he was told to sit with a member of training staff," White said. "While doing so, he was being monitored. A short time later, he collapsed. Training staff immediately began CPR and continued to do so until EMS arrived and transported him to a local hospital." Arlington PD says Marquis was pronounced dead Sunday morning. A cause of death wasn’t immediately known. The department says all recruits have to pass a medical examination as well as a physical fitness test comprised of rowing to be accepted into the program. Brittney’s widow believes he was in good shape.

"He's somebody who would talk with anybody and he didn't know an enemy...David was known as the car guy, mechanic guy, that liked to tell stories."
One day in January, the lieutenant noticed Greene getting confused, mixing up words and even taking the wrong turn to calls. "Suddenly he just didn't get it." A brain scan told what was going on. "...It came back that he had a mass in his left frontal lobe and it just blew my mind,” Childs said. Greene fought, just as he had while he was on the line. Despite chemotherapy and surgery, the mass kept growing. But, in June, he found out there was nothing else to do.

Alvin firefighter dies in line of duty
September 25, 2022
Alvin, Texas — After a longtime Alvin firefighter helped extinguish an "engulfed" mobile home fire, a check of his vital signs raised no cause for concern, authorities said. Not long after, however, he was found dead at his home, leaving a hole in the volunteer department. Charles D. Krampota's death Friday is classified as being in the line of duty death because he died unexpectedly within 48 hours after participating in a structure fire response, Alvin Fire Department Public Information Officer Scott Salter said. "It's ruled as a line of duty death because of exertion, adrenaline and the physical demands of any fire," Salter said. "It can take a toll. When there is a line of duty death, entities must confirm if the fire was or was not caused by arson. The cause is even more important and is currently being investigated."
Krampota's son, Seth, called EMS shortly before 6 p.m. Friday after finding his father, Alvin Fire Chief Rex Klesel said. "It was unexpected," Klesel said. "Charles was a dedicated member of the fire department, holding the rank of captain for quite a few years. We could always depend on him being on calls." Hours before, at about 10:19 a.m., the fire department responded to an engulfed mobile home off Susie Lane in Alvin. Krampota, 60, performed his normal duties, including going in with an air tank and pumping the fire truck while on the scene, Klesel said.
Afterward, he went to rehab, which is a form of check-in with the EMS at the scene to get his vitals checked, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary, the chief said. "All firefighters go and get their vitals taken at the end of the incident," Salter said. "I don't know what his vitals were, but I know he didn't leave the scene in an ambulance. So to our knowledge, there was no reason to believe there was something going on. After the incident was done, he left and went home as all the firefighters do."
