An autopsy was carried out at the Mercato San Severino hospital on the body of Fabrizio Gaudioso, the 32-year-old from Cava dei Tirreni who died last Friday 3 February at the Santa Maria Incoronata dell'Olmo hospital. The examination was performed by the coroner Giuseppe Consalvo, the technical consultant who was entrusted with the task of carrying out the non-repeatable assessment by the public prosecutor of the Nocera Inferiore prosecutor, Gaetana Amoruso. The hypothesis of the crime is manslaughter, currently against unknown persons. The young Cavese, well known in the city and called by all "the gentle giant" for his imposing size combined with goodness of mind, last January he had suffered an illness at home, vomiting bile and complaining of gastric pains. The mother and sister, with whom he lived, called 118 and the thirty-two year old was transported to the emergency room of the city hospital and hospitalized for a few days for the necessary treatment in the Medicine department and then discharged with the diagnosis of deficiency pancytopenia. But after a few days Gaudioso suffered another collapse in his home, completely losing consciousness, which is why his family members again requested medical intervention and on the evening of January 24 the young patient was taken to the emergency room again by ambulance rescue of Santa Maria Incoronata and from here again hospitalized in general medicine. As reconstructed by family members, the news arrived on February 3 that Fabrizio's clinical picture had suddenly worsened.
