Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh aide Khanda dies of blood cancer in UK

The UK-based head of Khalistan Liberation Force died at Birmingham City Hospital at around 12:45 am (IST) on Thursday, sources said. Khanda was admitted to hospital in London on Wednesday after being diagnosed with blood cancer, and he was placed on life support. According to reports, Khanda's body was poisoned after a clot ruptured owing to the malignancy. After Deep Sidhu's death, Avtar Singh Khanda trained Amritpal and promoted him as the head of 'Waris Punjab De' in Punjab. He was arrested in the UK for pulling down India’s national flag at the embassy in London. Khanda, accused of training Sikh youths on how to make live bombs and handling of IEDs, was in the early stages of blood cancer. Khanda was reportedly the head of the London unit of the Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) and was the son of KLF terrorist Kulwant Singh Khukhrana.

A 12-year-old boy has died after collapsing on a school playing field. Emergency services went to a Shropshire school around 4 pm on Friday after reports that the young boy had dropped to the ground. This morning the family of Joshua Lloyd posted tributes to their son who died. It is believed onlookers battled to save him while paramedics were on their way to Dawley’s Telford Langley School. Paramedics took Joshua to hospital but he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

Cumbria - A Northumberland man has spoken of his heartache after his fiancée died suddenly from epilepsy. Ewan Duff, 31, was devastated after his partner, Rachel Morgan, died in January this year aged 26 after suffering an epileptic seizure during the night. The primary school teacher, who had not been diagnosed with epilepsy, was taken to hospital and tragically died several days later. Ewan, who is originally from Stocksfield, said: "Rachel was really humble, really selfless, really thoughtful and loved children. She was really dedicated to helping children.” Grieving the loss of Rachel, Ewan is now focused on raising awareness of Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP).

A devastated mum has led tributes to her 21-year-old daughter who was found dead at the bottom of her bed earlier this month. A fundraising appeal has been launched to try to pay for the funeral of Chloe Caton who died in her sleep. The evening before her death, on June 1, Chloe had spent time with her family, eating her favourite roast dinner and watching Britain's Got Talent. Chloe and her mum, Ami, had been staying with Ami's two grandchildren at their Stoke home. Chloe was pronounced dead the following morning.

Northern Ireland - A PSNI (Police Service Northern Ireland) officer has died suddenly in Co Tyrone. Detective Inspector Alanna Moore, a mother-of-one who was from the Dungannon area, was described as a "valued colleague" who possessed "great skill and understanding". Police have said her death on Wednesday is "not being treated as suspicious at this time". In a statement the PSNI confirmed they attended a report of a sudden death in the Ballynakilly Road area of Coalisland.

Husband's desperate warning after wife deteriorates and dies suddenly

A grieving husband is urging people to listen to their bodies after his wife's battle with breast cancer saw her deteriorate in just two weeks and die suddenly. Kirsty Guy, 33, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 while pregnant with her daughter, Hallie. She underwent gruelling treatment, gave birth prematurely and was eventually given the all-clear from her doctors. But two years later, in April 2022, Mrs Guy began to experience a terrible cough. Her GP conducted a series of tests which revealed she had 'patches on her lungs'. Mrs Guy, from Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, was diagnosed with secondary metastatic breast cancer, which had spread to her lungs, and doctors said it was 'treatable but not curable'. The mother-of-two died last month.

Andrea Oliver's devastated family has been left in shock following her death on May 29 which they have described as sudden and unexplained. Originally from Barnsley, mum-of-six Andrea had moved to Rotherham and had a job as a care worker that she loved. She had previously run a pub in Barnsley. Andrea, who was single, died at home. She had an undiagnosed heart condition, said Vicki.

Zoey Williams was diagnosed with the cervical cancer last August and died earlier this month at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. Her dad Paul has led the tributes to barmaid Zoey, who leaves behind 12-year-old son Mason, and urged other women to book their cervical screenings. He said: "She had her appointment and it got cancelled for whatever reason, and she just never got round to rearranging it.”

They were often seen walking their dogs around the Bobblestock area of Hereford, and across many other areas of the city too. Sadly, earlier this week, April died from cancer, following a short illness. Her sister Louise, has created a GoFundMe page to help pay for funeral costs, following her sudden passing at just 51 years old. On the GoFundMe page, Louise pays tribute to her sister April by saying: “Only a few weeks ago April was fit and Healthy! I really cannot believe I’ve lost my best friend and sister so suddenly and out of the blue. She was only 51! Far, far, far too soon!”

A punter has died at a town centre bookies. Paramedics and staff battled in vain to save the patient after being alerted to the 'medical emergency' at Betfred. Staffordshire Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service had been called to the Stoke branch - on Campbell Place - at 5.43 pm on Saturday, June 10. Now Betfred has led tributes to its much-loved customer. One of the branch managers, Junior Clemson-Perritt said: “His name was Bernard but he also went by the name of Bernie. I know he worked for the NHS. I know he had children. He was 54, and today would have been his 55th birthday."

Bristol - Police are investigating the sudden death of a man in Bristol city centre. Officers from Avon and Somerset Police were called out to Newgate, near the car park entrance to The Galleries, at around 9.50 am yesterday (June 11). Officers closed off Newgate after being called to the scene. An ambulance also rushed to the area. In a statement issued by the force, it has been confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious. Police are now carrying out enquiries on behalf of the coroner.

Fleetwood - Emergency services were called to the beach near Fleetwood ferry terminal, off the Esplanade, after a man was found unresponsive at around 6.30 am on Sunday (June 11). He was found under the pier – close to the lifeboat station – which was taped off while police investigated and his body was recovered. The death of a man who died outside a Glasgow Aldi store is being treated as 'unexplained'. The 33-year-old passed away outside Aldi's Anniesland store, on Knightscliffe Avenue, on Friday June 16. Emergency services raced to the scene at around 7.10 pm. It's understood he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police Scotland confirmed that an investigation has been launched however there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

Inquest opens into death of man who was found dead in a van in Warrington

An inquest has opened into the death of a man who was found dead in a van in Latchford. Ryan Retford sadly died aged 29 on Whitley Avenue on April 11 this year. On Wednesday, Cheshire Coroner’s Court formally opened an inquest into Mr Retford’s death. Here, it was heard how police were called to reports of a male having a cardiac arrest in a vehicle that was stationary with the engine running. Police and paramedics attended the scene and confirmed the death of Mr Retford. At the time, Cheshire Police said: “The death is not believed to be suspicious.” A postmortem has been carried out since and the cause of death is currently under investigation.

Bray Lions Club mourns death of two ‘outstanding members who made a difference to the lives of so many’

Wicklow - Two key members of Bray Lions Club, who died within 24 hours of each other, have been remembered as “outstanding Lions” who made the difference to so many, by the President of Bray Lions Club Joe Codyre. Danny Bohan, who died on Saturday, June 10, was a former president and leader of many projects, while Michael O’Brien [above], who died suddenly on Saturday, June 11 was a staunch founder member of the club. Mr Codyre described Michael and Danny as “outstanding Lions who espoused the Lions' principle of ‘We Serve’ and who had made a difference to the lives of many individuals and groups, locally, nationally and further afield.” Michael O’Brien was a Founder Member of Bray Lions Club, when it received its Charter in 1987. He played a key role in the early development of the fledgling Club, serving as President in 1996/7.

Tributes have been paid to an inspirational football coach in Galway after he died following a short illness. Dave Daly was described by his club West United FC as 'the most courageous and inspiring man you could ever meet'. Mr Daly even called his clubmates to come and see him at his home where he gave 'life advice' before his death on June 6th. Mr Daly was also a top-class referee taking charge of two FAI Intermediate Cup finals.

Police: Man dead after suffering medical emergency, crashing into Dublin Methodist Hospital

A man who was reportedly suffering a medical emergency is dead after crashing a vehicle into a hospital in Dublin Thursday afternoon. The Dublin Police Department said the man crashed near the emergency entrance of Dublin Methodist Hospital around 12:45 p.m. He was pronounced dead just after 1 p.m., according to police. It’s unclear if the man died from the crash or a medical emergency. Police said there was also a female passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash. She was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital and her condition is unknown. The hospital is still in operation and the damage it sustained was minor, police said.

Dublin - A Tallaght pub has paid tribute to their manager following news of his death. Darren O'Brien, aged 47, passed away last weekend. Darren became general manager of Molloys Bar and Grill back in 2021 after almost 30 years at the bar. He first joined the pub, formerly known as the Foxes Covert, in 1994. Molloys Bar and Grill paid tribute to their former manager on Facebook and described him as an "inspiration" to the team.
People took to the comments section to pay tribute to Darren. People praised his kindness as a manager and described him as a true gentleman. A comment read: "Still can't believe it. He was a pure gentleman and will be greatly missed."
