MONTREAL — Former NHL defenceman Bryan Marchment died unexpectedly Wednesday in Montreal, his agent said. He was 53.
Longtime agent Rick Curran confirmed Marchment’s death to The Associated Press. Marchment was attending the NHL draft in Montreal as a scout for San Jose Sharks.
A cause of death was not immediately available.

Indigenous family, leaders mourn death of 2-year-old

A First Nations family and Indigenous leaders in Manitoba are mourning and seeking answers after they say a sick two-year-old girl died after being sent home from a clinic without being treated. According to family representatives, two-year-old Santaya Tyo-Greyeyes of Norway House Cree Nation was taken by her mom Angel Tyo to a clinic in Norway House on June 27 because she was dealing with vomiting and a fever, and she was struggling to breathe. The girl was not triaged or treated at the clinic, and her mom was told to take her home and give her Tylenol, and monitor her condition.
The next day, Santaya died, after her family noticed she had stopped breathing during a nap, and they tried to rush her back to the clinic. In a Thursday news release, the same day a funeral for the toddler was held in Winnipeg, Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak Inc. (MKO) offered their condolences to Santaya’s family, while also saying they planned to look into whether or not any actions or inactions of health care workers played any part in her death.

Former Hells Angels crime boss Maurice (Mom) Boucher dies of cancer

The 69-year-old was in prison serving a life sentence for the murders of two prison officers.
But cancer isn’t intimidated by anyone.
The former biker gang member died Sunday inside a federal penitentiary in Ste-Anne-des-Plaines, 40 kilometres north of Montreal. Two sources told the Montreal Gazette he died of cancer. After refusing to be treated for the disease for months [and so was evidently diagnosed within this last year], he was recently transferred from the Special Handling Unit, a super-maximum security facility, to another on the same property that can provide palliative care, both sources said.
“On July 10, 2022, Maurice Boucher, an inmate under medical care at Archambault Institution, died while in our custody of apparent natural causes,” Correctional Service Canada said in a statement issued Sunday afternoon. “At the time of his death, Mr. Boucher had been serving an indeterminate sentence for two counts of first-degree murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, assault with a weapon and carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Man, 71, dies after golf cart goes into pond in Richmond Hill

A 71-year-old Toronto man has died after his golf cart went into a large pond at a Richmond Hill golf course.
The incident happened shortly before noon on Monday at DiamondBack Golf Club at 13300 Leslie St., south of Bloomington Road.
According to York Regional Police, a witness contacted them to report seeing a golf cart being driven into a pond at the local golf course.
Deputy Fire Chief Tom Rayburn confirmed to CP24 Monday afternoon that a golf cart went into the water.
A body was recovered from the pond by the YRP Marine Unit around 4 p.m., York Region Police confirmed Monday evening.
“The Coroner will be attending the scene to confirm the identity of the deceased. The death does not appear to be suspicious,” police said.

Marta Aura, iconic Mexican actress, dies at 83

This Saturday, July 9, the death of actress Marta Aura was reported, at the age of 83, who was known for her participation in soap operas, television series, movies and theater. The confirmation of the death of the Mexican artist was given by the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature through her Twitter account.

Having been hospitalized for what the doctors called “atypical pneumonia,” Aura was intubated after failing to improve. Her son, while blaming her death on “medical negligence,” confirms that she was “fully vaccinated” and boosted:
“A situation happened, a negligence, that's how it is from my point of view. She entered the hospital for suspected pneumonia and I say suspected because the doctors said it seemed to be atypical pneumonia. She had her PCR and antigen tests done and she came back negative. She had all three of her shots,” he explained.

Merida - A person from the State of Mexico who went to buy at the Farmacias Guadalajara branch located on Calle 23 x 22 in the north Emiliano Zapata neighborhood died inside said store. Yesterday an elderly person died inside a Banorte branch, also in Mérida, but in the airport area. Suddenly he felt bad and fell to the floor.
The employees of the place notified the 911 paramedics of the state police, who arrived and confirmed the death. The pharmacy had to close for a couple of hours and the place was cordoned off so that the prosecution could do its investigative work and determine responsibilities. The body was taken by the Semefo since it was said that said person arrived alone and walking and there was no one to deliver the body to.

Waldo Rubén Barrionuevo Ramírez, C.Ss.R., died at 57 years old
He was born in Oruro on 9 September 1967 [sic]. He entered the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer in 1989 and began his formation as a postulant in Cochabamba; he continued his novitiate in Tupiza in 1991 and then studied theology in Cochabamba in 1992. IN BOLIVIA. In 2010, he was sent to the San Alfonso College of the Redemptorists in Rome. As a student, from 2010-2012. On May 31 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Vicar Apostolic of the Vicariate of Reyes.
The website of the Bishops Conference of Bolivia reports that Msgr. Waldo, who was hospitalised in the Arco Iris Hospital in the city of La Paz, died of irreversible brain death. He takes with him the affection of the Bolivian Church and all those who knew him.

Tragedy in Balvanera: a driver vanished, crashed into a bank and died

A 52-year-old man suffered cardiac arrest while driving his truck, for which he lost control of his vehicle and died in the Balvanera neighborhood of Buenos Aires.
The tragic accident occurred after 7:30 on Tuesday when a gray Renault Kangoo van lost control, climbed the sidewalk and ended up hitting the front of a Banco Santander branch located in Callao at 600, almost on the corner of Viamonte. .
His partner, who was traveling as a companion, was unharmed. Immediately, the woman alerted the SAME emergency service.
