Frederick Waite Jr. Dead at 55: Musical Youth Drummer Played on 'Pass the Dutchie'

Musical Youth drummer Frederick Waite Jr., the '80s music legend behind the hit song "Pass the Dutchie," which recently featured on Stranger Things Season 4, has died. Waite passed away in Birmingham, where Musical Youth were formed in 1979, on July 20, according to a city council notice. His cause of death is not known. Waite was 55.
The famed musician's passing was announced by Musical Youth. In a statement shared to Facebook, the band wrote, "We are sad to announce the passing of Musical Youth's drummer Frederick Waite Jr. Our thoughts go out to him and his family during this sad time." Musical Youth went on to share, "We have lost a musical legend, who inspired many young musicians over the last 40 years. Rest in Eternal Peace."

His wife Antoinette informed his fans and friends of the tragic news. “Rest in Peace, you were too beautiful for this world me, Lover,” she said. “Nothing will ever be the same again, Love Always and ever your Antoinette. Until we meet again…” No cause of death has been announced at this time.
Cradle of Filth frontman Dani Filth led tributes for his band’s former guitarist. Taking to Facebook on Tuesday, August 23, he wrote: “It is with a deeply saddened heart that I have heard of the passing of my former guitarist Stuart Anstis at 48. Stuart -despite our eventual differences - was an amazingly talented guitarist who brought a real sense of magick to everything he wrote in Cradle Of Filth. For a long time he and I were best of friends living in a small village here in Suffolk and despite that relationship eventually changing, it did nothing to diminish the fan’s appreciation of his creative flair and talent right up to the present day.”

Top English footballer and ex-England international David Armstrong has passed away aged 67, his former clubs made the announcement late on Sunday, August 21. The former Southampton player scored 71 times in 272 games and is credited with at least 29 assists during his time at the Saints where he starred from 1981-1987. Prior to that, David “Spike” Armstrong appeared 431 times for Middlesbrough in a 10-year career at Boro. He joined the club in 1971 and made his debut against Blackpool in April 1972. His success at club level led him to his first England call-up in 1980 and he represented his country three times in total. Currently, the English footballer’s cause of death has not been revealed.

Man died from catastrophic brain injury after Astra Zeneca jab, inquest finds

The former rock singer, known simply as Zion, died at the age of 48 in May 2021 shortly after having a first dose of the jab. His fiancée, Vikki Spit, says Zion was a fit and healthy man who worked out regularly, but he began to experience severe headaches in the days after his vaccination. He received an emergency operation to relieve pressure on his brain, but could not be saved.
Vikki said: "They called at 4:30 in the morning and they told me that they had had to remove a massive piece of his skull to relieve the pressure on his brain. The pressure was huge, they didn't think he would ever wake up, and if he did he would be severely disabled and they believed it was the result of the Astra Zeneca vaccine. I woke my landlords up, they drove me to the hospital and I stayed with him until he was declared dead on 19 May."
In the HM Coroners concluding remarks, Karen Dilks said: "There is no evidence that earlier admission would have altered the sad outcome."
Speaking after the inquest, Vikki said she was 'heartened' that the coroner had recognised the link between the Astra Zeneca jab and Zion's death.
Female prisoner, 27, dies while being held in custody awaiting trial for assaulting a police officer

Elizabeth Holmes, 27, from Paisley, was found by prison officers on August 14 at women's prison HMP YOI Cornton Vale while she awaited trial for charges including assaulting a police officer and threatening and abusive manner. The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) have advised Police Scotland on the matter.
Police say her death is not being treated as suspicious but that enquiries are ongoing. 'Elizabeth Holmes, 27, a prisoner from HMP YOI Cornton Vale has died on August 14, 2022,' the statement read. 'She was remanded at Paisley Sheriff Court in 2022. Police Scotland have been advised and the matter reported to the Procurator Fiscal. A Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held in due course.'
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: 'At 3 am on Sunday, August 14, officers were called to HMP Cornton Vale, Stirling, following reports of a sudden death. A 27-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her death is not being treated as suspicious, and inquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.'

A year ten student, Ben Oliver, from Teign school and one of Torquay United’s biggest supporters, died suddenly last weekend. The local community is devastated by the loss, with supporters of Torquay United setting up a GoFundMe page to raise money for a flag and plaque to be made on the football ground in his memory. The original goal was to raise £500, but this has been surpassed with £3660 being raised at the time of publication of this article. Any additional money will be given to the family to help with funeral costs.

Argyll lawyer Ruben Murdanaigum has passed away after collapsing in the street. Originally from Mauritius, where he grew up in poverty, Mr Murdanaigum qualified as a solicitor in Scotland in 1980 and founded his own practice, Rubens Solicitors, in 2000. Prior to establishing his practice, he served as a fiscal depute in Paisley and lectured on human rights law in Turkey. He often travelled to Barbados, where he planned to retire. He collapsed in Lochgilphead, where his office was based, and could not be revived despite the efforts of passers-by and paramedics.

The family of a beloved sportsman and former publican who died suddenly at the age of 72 has paid tribute. Philip John Tye was born on April 14, 1950, in Quidenham, near Attleborough – the first of many Norfolk villages he would go on to call home. As well as being known for playing a variety of sports, he was also a familiar face behind the bar.
Paying tribute to him, his family said: “Everyone who knew Philip will remember him for his hospitality, jokes, and humour. He was a real character and always had time for everyone and loved to banter.”

Tributes paid to Dundalk artist John O’Connor

Tributes have been paid to local artist John O’Connor, 65, Seatown Place, who died suddenly on Wednesday August 17th. Born in 1957, John grew up in Blackrock, Co Dublin, and studied art at Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design, graduating in 1980. A talented painter, he was awarded the Sir Alfred Beit award for painting 1980 and first prize in student section Claremorris Open 1980. He took up a post as art teacher in O’Fiaich College in 1983 and is remembered as a teacher who encouraged students, inspiring many to go on to pursue their own careers as artists.
John was also a keen sportsman. He was a member of Dundalk Tennis Club and is remembered as a skillful player. He also enjoyed playing golf and swimming. In his earlier years, he had ran a number of marathons and was often seen cycling around town or out to Blackrock. His passion for sport saw him travelling to events such as the Wimbledon tennis championships and to the Irish Open.

Derek ‘Mono’ Monaghan - a well-known fan and club volunteer at Bohs - died in the incident close to his native Cabra, Dublin, on Wednesday night. Sources described the crash in the Grangegorman area of the capital as a freak accident. Cops have launched an investigation into Mono’s death, but it is understood it is being treated as a tragic accident.
A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Sun: “Gardai attended the scene of an incident on private property in the Grangegorman area of Dublin 7 at approximately 6.30 pm on Wednesday, 17th August, 2022. “A man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed to Dublin City Mortuary where a post-mortem will be conducted at a later date. A woman in her 70s sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital. Garda enquiries are ongoing.”

Tributes have been paid to a "hardworking" woman who died after collapsing as she took part in a Scots charity hike. Laura Marcelin, from Kilworth in Cork, Ireland, was completing a 13-mile route as part of the Great Wilderness Challenge on Saturday when she tragically passed away. Emergency services, including medical teams, paramedics, Dundonnell Mountain Rescue and the Coastguard all attended after the incident at Inveran in the Highlands.
PDG Helicopters carried out a successful evacuation plan for more than 200 people still out on three routes after the road into Poolewe, Wester Ross, was closed by police. Following the devastating news tributes have flooded in from the 44-year-old's heartbroken family and friends as a fundraiser was launched to help 'bring her home'.
