She joined the Munich Tumor Registry at the Institute for Medical Information Processing, Biometry and Epidemiology (IBE) as a research assistant in 1996. She began her work in cancer epidemiology under the direction of Professor Hölzel with field studies on the quality of life in breast cancer and other cancers. From 1998 to 2000 she completed the postgraduate course in Public Health and Epidemiology at the IBE. In 2006 she habilitated in the field of epidemiology at the LMU. Her research focus was to contribute and evaluate university findings and results of clinical studies in the routine care of cancer patients through questions of health care research in oncology. The management of the Munich Tumour Registry and its expansion into a population-based clinical cancer registry were particularly close to her heart, which is why she committed herself to this with great commitment.

The Viennese director, stage designer and theater director Karl Welunschek is dead. Bent Kvalvik, 63 years old. A good friend and a theatre man is no longer here to delight us with his laughter, singing, theatre skills and knowledge – and his home baking. Bent has written many theater reviews, and primarily for Dag og Tid. He was fearless and open-minded, but also was on trends and fashions and what he called "quasi-originality". As an obituary writer, he had a heart for many of our female actors. Bent always had a quote lurking, and on a cue he could break out into song or a revue number. In gratitude we will remember and miss how he with his knowledge and wit managed Norwegian theater heritage.

A hiker dies of cardiac arrest in Gran Canaria

A 62-year-old female hiker of Swedish origin died yesterday (Tuesday) after suffering a cardiorespiratory arrest and collapsing while walking on a route in Veneguera, in the municipality of Mogán in the south of Gran Canaria [Spain], as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES). They received an alert just after 2:45 pm stating that she needed urgent medical assistance, so immediately dispatched the necessary resources including a GES Helicopter. Proteccion Civil officers and firemen were the first on the scene and gave first aid to the victim, before boarding the helicopter where they administered CPR while on their way to the helipad at the Doctor Negrín University Hospital in Las Palmas. As soon as they landed, medical personnel from the SUC continued with advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation manoeuvres during the transfer of the affected person to the hospital's facilities, where unfortunately her death was confirmed. She will now be officially identified and undergo an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The young athlete was successfully engaged in American football, as well as lacrosse. At the age of 40, Ján Hubáček suddenly went to eternal rest. The successful athlete died on April 8 under as yet unknown circumstances. During his career, he gravitated towards American football and actively played for the clubs Nitra Knights, St. Nicolaus Monarchs, Trnava Bulldogs, as well as for the national team.

Indescribable sadness flooded the Samobor region after the news came that their Martin Filipčić had died during the football match 2NL center for cadets in Dugo Selo. The exemplary and loving 15-year-old suddenly got sick while he fought away with his NK Samobor for the win against NK Dugo Selo. In the 60th minute of the football match, Filipčić complained of weakness. He told the judge he wasn't feeling well so he was referred to the doctors by the bench. Investigation into sudden death of a teenage girl at a juvenile care centre in Valencia

A court in the town of Llíria in Valencia is investigating the sudden death of a 16-year-old Spanish girl in a juvenile care centre in the municipality of l’Eliana. The teenager was reportedly discovered unresponsive yesterday, Friday 1st, by staff. They immediately alerted the health authorities who deployed a medical team to the care centre. Despite their attempts to revive her using cardiopulmonary resuscitation manoeuvres, the girl died before she could be transferred to a hospital. Her body was subsequently moved to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Valencia, where a post-mortem examination will determine the cause of death.
