Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský (Pirates) said he was finding it difficult to process the news that one of the most talented Czech diplomats, Jakub Dürr, had died. Lipavský emphasizes that Dürr has done a great deal for Czech diplomacy, and not only in Poland. According to the Foreign Minister, Dürr has tirelessly promoted Czech interests in the EU in the past, and he also dealt with EU affairs at the Foreign Ministry. Dürr has held the office of ambassador since December 2021. From 2018 to 2020 he was the permanent representative of the Czech Republic to the EU. Previously he was Secretary of State in the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dürr used to be Prorector of the Palacký University in Olomouc/Olmütz.

Czech medical legend Vladislav Třeška has died at the age of 65. The sad news was announced on social networks by his colleague from the University Hospital in Pilsen, where Třeška was the head of the Surgical Clinic. Last year, he received the Medal of Merit from President Miloš Zeman. A young skier from the Czech Republic who was found dead near a tree on a ski slope in Misurina, in the province of Belluno, died at the age of 20. Tragic news came from Tiraspol. At the age of 51, coach Oleg Bezhenar died. According to unconfirmed information, he had a heart attack. During his career, Bezhenar was a head coach or assistant coach in such clubs as Academia, Zimbru, Dacia, Dynamo-Auto, Armenian Noah and Kazakhstani Akzhayik. In the latter club, he worked until the end of last year.

Toni Vidović (16), basketball player from Rijeka, passed away this morning, two days after he got sick during the game, five minutes after the beginning. He just sat on a bench and fainted. He wasn’t complaining of anything. An ambulance arrived, CPR was done, he was transported to Clinical Hospital Center Rijeka in a coma. An autopsy will be done.

A basketball coach, referee and a mentor, Željko Fijacko Fic (69) suddenly died. In the first half of the 1980s, he joined Cibona and became one of the main coaches in the youth department in the late 1980s/early 90s, training a whole series of future Croatian national team members and a couple of NBA players. He was a Croatian defender from the first day of the war. During 1991-92, he led Cibona cadets/juniors on weekends during breaks from all battlefields.

Beloved country music singer, songwriter, and bass player Roy Sturn has reportedly died. Sturn passed away in Bulgaria on Sunday, Feb. 5, Saving Country Music reported. No further information regarding his passing, including his cause of death, was disclosed. Born Tsetso Vlaikov in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1971, Sturn brought country music not only across borders, but also to the high seas. The musician played bass in numerous bands, including The Nashville Junction, The Delta Roosters, and Medicus. He also fronted a band of his own called Stetson. He released several albums, including Tear River and Catch The Bull's Horn with Stetson, as well as White Hot Sun. Per his SoundCloud, his songs include "Cross the Line," "Lost," "Cold Virginia Night," "Tender Words," and "Table for Two," among many others.

Lolo Dorta, a 48-year-old activist from Tenerife who was the spokesperson for the Dignity Camp, has died today after suffering a collapse while resting at his home, despite the efforts of the health workers, who fought for three quarters of an hour to revive him, but without success. Lolo Dorta was a prominent activist whose popularity jumped to the media and citizens after his prominent role in the Anti-Eviction Platform.
