Morelia - Omar Trujillo, a defender and midfielder who had a long career mostly in Monarcas Morelia, passed away at the age of 45. According to Mediotiempo, Trujillo collapsed and died of a heart attack after playing a pick up soccer game with friends. Trujillo spent most of his career with Morelia, although he had spells with Tigres and Atlas. His main achievement however was being a key part in Morelia’s only Liga MX title in Invierno 2000.

After what happened, the Investigative Agents of the State Attorney General's Office went to the hospital to meet family members and doctors as part of the investigation, however, since it was a natural death, it was not necessary to perform an autopsy.
