In memory of those who “died suddenly,” in Canada, November 14-November 21

CANADA
This latest compilation of “sudden deaths” in Canada—343— notes only those from prior weeks, as we are still working through a backlog there. (This week’s reports will be included in next week’s update.)
A note from our lead Canada researcher:
As high as it is—higher even than the toll in Italy, although Canada has a much smaller population—the weekly toll that we have been recording in these compilations is much lower than it ought to be, due to the terseness of obituaries from some la populations.
Specifically, we have had trouble finding data on the “sudden deaths” of Asians, East Indians and Jews throughout the country (three large minorities), and of the Filipinos in Alberta. The death notices from those communities are less detailed than those from the general population.
There is a similar void of information in the Territories—especially about the large indigenous community, whom Trudeau’s police have sought to “vaccinate” by force. It is extremely difficult to find death notices of any kind for that community, whose rate of “sudden deaths” may well be hidden.
What all this means, in short, is that the true rate of “sudden deaths” in Canada is probably much higher than the quite high rate that we’ve recorded here.

November 10, 2022
Unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at the age of 48 in Caledon, Canada. To know Clinton was an exercise in mind expansion, joy creation, and admiration building. To understand Clinton was to bear witness to beautiful contradictions, clear eyed competence, and a cool that came from being curious enough to seek knowledge wherever it was available. To love Clinton was to be lost and found in it, rescued and grounded in it, moved and motivated by it, thrilled and calmed in it. He was too beautiful to imagine, too alive to ever really leave us, and too clever to not have his wisdom and wit be carried forward by all fortunate enough to bear witness to the magic and magnitude of him.

Durham - It is with a heavy heart that we regret to inform you that our dear Nina has passed away. A kind, generous, loving soul, she loved to help wherever she could. She loved to teach and was a professor at Centennial College for the last 36 years where she touched so many students’ and colleagues’ lives. And she loved her tech and gadgets… she was so excited when one of her recent Christmas presents was a dual monitor arm mount. And she had enjoyed rising to the challenge of teaching online. But sadly her time on this Earth couldn’t be infinite and on Tuesday October 25th, Nina was admitted to North York General for a stroke and a heart attack. When we visited the following day she was in good spirits and spoke of future plans. But unfortunately the next couple of days the effects of the stroke slurred her speech and immoblized her left side. On Saturday, October 29, 2022, Nina was taken to ICU after suffering a heart attack and she passed away that afternoon in her 74th year.

Liam Frederick Scott Dee, 26
November 14, 2022
Windsor - Age 26, of Aylesford, passed away peacefully and bravely in Valley Hospice, Kentville, surrounded by family, according to his wishes. After spending nine months exhausting all treatment options for his rare cancer, Liam chose to live his last days bathed in love and comfort with his devoted husband, parents, sister, close friends and relatives by his side. Liam was a go-getter who effortlessly achieved anything he put his mind to including his hobbies and education. He had a robust and varied life resume that included eel fishing, sewing, gardening, furniture refinishing, hunting, farming, volunteering, and traveling (even becoming a Diamond Shellback when he crossed the equator on Mercy Ships in 2017). Liam attended the Maritime College of Forest Technology following his graduation from West Kings District High School in 2014. Upon graduation in 2016, he decided a career in health care was his calling, so he completed the Continuing Care Assistant program at NSCC Middleton Campus in 2017. He then went on to attend St. FX in 2018, graduating with his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in December of 2021. He began working for VON New Minas that same month but his career was cut short in March, following the unexpected diagnosis of a rare liposarcoma. Liam joyfully married the love of his life, best friend and partner in thrifting. Liam was passionate about social justice issues, especially concerning the LGBTQ community, and participated in St. FX Pride and marched in his first Halifax Pride Parade in 2018. Before his passing, Liam acknowledged that though his life was very short, he felt he had achieved all of his life goals and felt at peace. Liam had such a profound impact on the lives of the people around him that he will live on forever in spirit among us. Canadian Cancer Society.
