He died at the age of 69 on a train, the place where he probably spent most of his time, so much so that for many years he traveled from Milan to Urbino where he taught history of art at the University. Always on the move even when his physique would have needed more peace of mind, especially after the stroke that hit him four years ago and from which he had surprisingly recovered. Marco, however, could not stop, so voracious, crazy, unscrupulous in the infinite desire for knowledge. His were real solitary rides where he went beyond the news, the small news, the daily chat, to go into territories unknown to most.

Disbelief and dismay at the tragedy that struck the family of mathematics teacher Alfredo Floridia, an esteemed 57-year-old engineer who was the victim of a tragic car accident while on a bike with a friend. A 35-year-old diver, originally from Nicosia but residing in Troina, Enna, died during a dive in the stretch of sea between Vulcano and Lipari. The man had left Milazzo in a rubber dinghy, together with two friends. On reaching the Aeolian Islands he had decided to dive for a spearfishing trip, which he often did in the archipelago. Not seeing him re-emerge, the two friends set out in search of the 35-year-old, who was then identified a hundred meters from where he had dived.
With the help of a fisherman, the diver, still alive but in serious condition, was hoisted on board and taken to the port of Vulcano-Levante where the doctor and the Red Cross volunteers tried to revive him. The Carabinieri of the island, at the disposal of the Barcelona Prosecutor Pozzo di Gotto, ordered the transfer of the body to the mortuary of the Lipari cemetery, pending an eventual autopsy. There is one guy who was in politics, (Guido de Martini) and he was let back into his profession this week (Opthalmology). He had a good experience, and was warmly welcomed back by his manager and colleagues. Let us hope that more people start to understand that the jabbed doctors are just as likely to spread (if not more), than the unjabbed. But Italy is a strange place, FULL of hypochoncria.
