He should have returned to that terrace next August 3, this time to present his book, the last, "Trieste without bora", in which he had chosen to talk about his city from a different perspective: three stories in which the protagonists find themselves immersed in an immobile and milky dimension, almost waiting for something, for an event, for an encounter.

Journalist Amedeo Ricucci died at the age of 63 in Calabria. He was born in Cetrano, in the province of Cosenza, on July 31, 1958. He has been a professional journalist since 1998. During his long career, he has obtained several awards including the Javier Valdez Award (2020), the Carlo Azeglio Ciampi "Straight Back" Award ( 2019), the Acqui Storia Award (2019) for History on TV, the Ilaria Alpi Award (2001), the Journalists of the Mediterranean Award (2012 and 2015).
He has followed the conflicts in Algeria, Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq. In 2002 he witnessed the death in Ramallah of the photo-reporter Raffaele Ciriello, killed under the bullets of the Israeli army during the second Palestinian Intifada. Ricucci was also kidnapped in Syria by the jihadist group Al Nusra, close to Al Qaeda, from 3 to 13 April 2013, in the midst of the first phase of the civil war that erupted after the Arab Springs.

Mourning in Cortemaggiore, a small town in the province of Piacenza in Emilia-Romagna: a 54-year-old carabiniere died after being struck by a sudden illness. This is the second lieutenant of the carabinieri Salvatore Cristiano, who for 16 years had been commander of the Cortemaggiore station, where he still lived despite having just been assigned to the First Carabinieri School Regiment of Florence.
Salvatore, however, was seized by a sudden illness that left him no way out. The carabiniere, 54, would have felt ill all of a sudden and would have collapsed to the ground. A real tragedy that took place yesterday afternoon along the coast of Fondi, in the province of Latina. Here a man felt ill while he was quietly walking on the shore. Many people have seen with their own eyes the tragedy of the elderly man from Santa Domenica Vittoria but who has been living in Catania for some time. It is Giuseppe Sidoti, 72 years old in August, brought to the shoreline where, however, he collapsed. An absurd drama: under shock dozens of bathers on the coast of San Pancrazio, in the stretch of free beach, who witnessed the tragedy helplessly. Drama on the free beach between Giugliano and Villaggio Coppola. This afternoon, Monday 11 July, a 53-year-old man died after drowning at sea. The victim's name was Antonio P., and he was a resident of Castel Volturno. The 51-year-old did not make it: the long resuscitation attempt carried out on Friday afternoon in the pool in Casola where he had spent joyful hours with his daughter and also the helicopter ride to the Ravenna hospital was useless. After struggling between life and death, the man died in the hospital at Santa Maria delle Croci.
Apparently the 51-year-old did not know how to swim sufficiently to float but for this reason he was always careful in the pool and never pushed himself towards the part where the water is higher but remained on the side where you touch. This is why one of the most accredited hypotheses is that of an illness that would have hit him while he was in the water. The man was in fact in the pool with his daughter: at one point the daughter was seen floundering and, once rescued, it was realized that the man was lying unconscious on the bottom of the pool.
The investigations were carried out by the Carabinieri of Casola Valsenio who are trying to clarify the dynamics of the facts.

The man leaves behind his wife Barbara and their three-year-old children Yama and seven-month-old Makthar.
Saliou on 3 July had chosen to spend a beautiful day with his family and some friends in the Adda river, between Medolago and Cornate. It was a sunny day and he decided to dive in. Some swimmers saw him disappear into the river and raised the alarm. Unfortunately that dive was lethal for him, caught by a sudden illness and died during the rush to the hospital in Vimercate. When he arrived in the city hospital, his young heart had already stopped beating.

It is among the saddest tragedies, the tragedy of loneliness. Died alone in the house, her neighbors noticed it only after three weeks, about twenty days. The victim is 55-year-old Helene Kabre, originally from Burkina Faso but an Italian citizen: she lived alone in an apartment among the popular condominiums in Via Martino Franchi in Brescia. It is here that she was found lifeless, lying in her bed: she died of natural causes, found only three weeks after her death.
The alarm was raised Monday afternoon by the neighbors. Apparently it would have been a strong smell that made them suspicious. When the police arrived, no one was able to answer precisely a simple question: "How long have you not seen her?". And so the Fire Brigade broke down the door, the tragic discovery arrived in the bedroom: Helene Kabre lying on the bed, lifeless.
The investigations of the Local Police have ruled out any possible assault, as well as break-ins or attempts at theft and robbery. The house was in order, everything as always: it is not excluded that the 55-year-old went to sleep and she never woke up.
