Sudden mourning today in the world of Italian cinema and theatre: this morning,- as reported by "LaNuovaSardegna.it", the very popular theater and cinema actor, protagonist of many initiatives in Sassari including with children, passed away following a sudden illness. According to what we learn, he himself called 118 and opened the door to the rescuers, but there was nothing that could be done to save him. The actor Carlo Valle lost his life at the age of 62. A multifaceted actor, known above all in the theatrical world, during his long career - as can be read on "Sardegnalive.net" - he had performed in almost two thousand shows in theaters around Italy in more than 30 years of activity, succeeding ranging from comic to dramatic. During his life Carlo Valle was also very involved in social work and - as reported by "Cagliaripad.it" - he collaborated in many legal projects for schools, in addition to the theater dedicated to children and very young people also thanks to his verve in interpreting funny characters or with funny voices.

Realdon lived alone and had a son to whom he was very close. Many years ago he had faced a bad evil and managed to defeat it. The experience of the disease had made him even more grateful and attached to life. On the one hand, the great work with Ulss Euganea and on the other the evenings spent dancing salsa, aperitifs with friends, beach holidays and mountain excursions. A forty-year-old Moroccan man, no stranger to detention and placed in the second section, suddenly woke up with a very strong sense of oppression. He wasn't even able to get off the cot, his condition worsened minute by minute and not even the intervention of the 118 health workers served to save him. The man died of cardiac arrest, therefore of natural causes which the public prosecutor could decide to investigate further with an autopsy. He had a (recent) past of drug addiction and some heart problems and it cannot be ruled out that the investigators, given the critical moment in terms of overcrowding, want to get to the bottom of the death. The day began like this, with one of those events that leave you feeling bitter. And it ended in an even more tragic way: in the late afternoon a thirty-three-year-old Italian took his own life by hanging himself in his cell. Transferred from Varese prison a couple of months ago, he was waiting to find a community to which he could be transferred: arrested for family mistreatment, his troubles had also arisen from drug abuse. It is not clear whether the young man just wanted to make a demonstrative gesture, the knotted sheets hanging from a shelf in the bathroom area still killed him. It was his warden who noticed it and immediately alerted the prison police but there was nothing left that could be done. The public prosecutor Ciro Caramore will decide today whether to subject the body to an autopsy, but this case also seems to be devoid of dark implications. The fact is that, in a penitentiary, two deaths in less than twenty-four hours is a terrible record. And the question is: if the prison in via per Cassano respected the capacity of 250 inmates, would the two emergencies of yesterday have had a different epilogue? If there were the necessary living space, if there were a sufficient number of medical personnel, if Polpen's staff were larger, could we act on health and psychological prevention?

Regarding the request to restore the presence of a doctor in the 118 station of San Vito dei Normanni, put forward by some associations after the death of a man due to sudden illness, it is specified that the serious shortage of doctors does not currently allow the implementation service. The downsizing of staff had already been carried out for a few years due to the reduction of approximately 50% of doctors with 118 eligibility compared to 2020 (pre-Covid period), which does not allow the medicalisation of some ambulance stations, such as that of San Vito . The 118 Service has however been reorganized to always guarantee rapid assistance in emergency cases throughout the provincial territory. In the specific case, which unfortunately concerns the death of a man in San Vito dei Normanni, as stated by the director of the Emergency-urgency Service, Massimo Leone, "the event was managed promptly with the intervention of healthcare personnel advanced: the India ambulance active in the municipality, which has a nurse and two rescuers on board, arrived on site in exactly five minutes from the call received at the Operations Centre, carrying out a cardiac massage and delivering five shocks with the semi-automatic defibrillator supplied to the half. As required by the 118 procedure and the protocols in force, the medical vehicle from Mesagne was added during the medical treatment. Unfortunately, despite the efforts made by all the operators involved, the activities carried out according to the rules established for the case were not enough to save the man's life".
