Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, trailblazer and champion of liberal priorities, dies at age 90
September 29, 2023
Washington— U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, a centrist Democrat and champion of liberal causes who was elected to the Senate in 1992 and broke gender barriers throughout her long career in local and national politics, has died. She was 90. Feinstein died on Thursday night at her home in Washington, D.C., her office said on Friday. Tributes poured in all day. Opening the Senate floor, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced that “we lost a giant in the Senate.” Her death came after a bout of shingles sidelined her for more than two months earlier this year — an absence that drew frustration from her most liberal critics and launched an unsuccessful attempt by Democrats to temporarily replace her on the Senate Judiciary Committee. When she returned to the Senate in May, she was frail and using a wheelchair, voting only occasionally.
No cause of death reported.
Feinstein “died suddenly”:
Footage Shows Feinstein Waving and Voting Unassisted Hours Before Her Death
Footage of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) casting her final vote around lunchtime on Thursday showed the 90-year-old walking unassisted and waving just hours before she died. Feinstein was voting in favor of a short-term spending bill intended to avert a government shutdown. She was escorted onto the Senate floor but walked on her own power to cast her vote, according to footage captured by CSPAN . She then missed two subsequent votes on Thursday afternoon. Feinstein’s office confirmed Friday morning that she died in D.C. on Thursday night but didn’t share a cause of death. She was hospitalized briefly in August after a fall, and had also been dealing with complications from a serious bout of shingles that kept her away from the Senate for three months earlier this year.
Feinstein was almost certainly “vaccinated”:
Why is US Senator Diane Feinstein hiding her medical history w.r.t. shingles?
March 7, 2023
The article in the San Jose Mercury News said her office wouldn’t comment on her medical history regarding shingles due to privacy concerns. But I’d like to know how keeping her history secret benefits the public. She pushed the vaccines. Over and over. And over. She even wanted to require vaccination or COVID tests for air travel. We all know now how ludicrous such a suggestion was. Not only do we know now that the COVID vaccines make you more likely to get COVID, they also re-activate the varicella zoster virus (VZV) that causes shingles and chickenpox and they cause it to return with a vengeance. I hear these “got vaxxed, got shingles” stories on a regular basis. It’s so common, it’s even in the peer-reviewed scientific literature: Real-world evidence from over one million COVID-19 vaccinations is consistent with reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus. So it seems highly likely that Feinstein was heavily COVID vaccinated and that even a shingles vaccine couldn’t protect her from the COVID vaccine.

Tim Wakefield, a member of two World Series championship teams and one of the longest-tenured and most accomplished players in Red Sox history, died Sunday. He was 57. A master of the confounding knuckleball, Mr. Wakefield had a 19-year career in the major leagues, the last 17 coming with the Red Sox from 1995-2011. He remained with the team as honorary chairman of the Red Sox Foundation, building what amounted to a second career based on charitable endeavors. The news reached the Red Sox a few hours before the team’s game in Baltimore. The Orioles asked fans at Camden Yards to observe a moment of silence in Mr. Wakefield’s memory as Red Sox manager Alex Cora and the players and coaches stood on the field with their heads bowed. Red Sox game planning coach Jason Varitek, who played with Mr. Wakefield from 1997-2011, sobbed as he spoke to reporters.

‘The Golden Bachelor’ Paid Touching Tribute To Ellen Goltzer’s BFF Roberta Zaktzer
September 30, 2023
When Jimmy Kimmel’s hilarious Aunt Chippy appeared during the final scene of The Golden Bachelor premiere, I was sure our tears were finished for the night. But the delightful end credits bit was followed by an unexpected, incredibly touching tribute card that read, “This season is dedicated in loving memory to Roberta Zaktzer.” When Ellen stepped foot out of the limo to meet the man of the hour, the first words out of her mouth were, “Roberta, we made it!” Gerry replied, “Dare I ask who is Roberta?” And Ellen explained Roberta was her longtime best friend of 60 years who had cancer. “It’s been difficult,” Ellen said as photos and video of her and Roberta covered the screen. Ellen also explained that she and Roberta were big fans of the Bachelor franchise, so when The Golden Bachelor was announced Roberta encouraged her to embark on the journey for both of them. Ellen and Roberta’s friendship played a wonderful part in the Golden Bachelor premiere, but sadly the tribute card revealed Roberta passed away in 2023, some time after the episode filmed. Ellen shared a photo of show’s touching closing message on Instagram alongside the caption, “True friendship is forever.”

Greenbrier teen buried in dress gifted to her from Conway dress store after fight with cancer
September 28, 2023
Conway, Ark. – Any girl knows that for every big occasion, you need the perfect outfit. For one young girl with terminal cancer, this sadly meant finding the perfect dress for a completely different occasion, and a local store in Conway handled everything. A 15-year-old girl named Ashley from Greenbrier was diagnosed with cancer just last year. A few months ago, she was window shopping and walked inside a prom dress store just to look around. She quickly fell in love with a particular dress, though, and it later became the dress she would be laid to rest in. Ashley originally hoped the dress could be her prom dress. She knew, however, that she may not make it until prom, and in that case, this would be the dress she would be buried in. Ashley died Saturday, and she was buried in her dress Wednesday night, less than 24 hours before these interviews.

Mark married Miranda Watkins on September 23, 2013, in Cedar Creek, Texas. He was a loving and kind soul that made friends easily. When Mark and I met it was like the stars aligned and when he passed away it was like the universe imploded. Many people are feeling this loss and I want you all to know he loved you. No matter how hard he tried to act antisocial he was quite the opposite. July 30th we all lost something very special. Mark, you always said we lived off borrowed time. I never wanted to believe you. I just want you to know I had the time of my life. I just wish I had more time. I love you bunches. Your loving wife, Miranda.

Nan Elizabeth "Betsi" Selecman Schaefer, 67
August 10, 2023
Wimberly, Texas - Nan Elizabeth Selecman Schaefer, known as “Betsi,” died Monday, August 7th, 2023, after a nearly two-and-a-half-year battle with brain cancer. She passed away in hospice care with her three daughters by her side. Whether it be her children, rescue animals, or real estate clients, Betsi will forever be known as someone who dedicated her life to caring for others. Nothing gave her a bigger smile than feeding her goats and miniature donkey, Willie, with the help of her grandson, or spending an afternoon shopping with her girls in Wimberley, followed of course by happy hour margaritas, chips and salsa, and live music beneath the Cypress trees. Above all, she believed in showing up for others, the sanctity of every life story, and savoring the beauty of Texas. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and joy will live on through the many human and animal lives she touched.

This is fucked up.
Is it just me, or does this seem to be escalating? So many from my home state of Texas! No wonder they want the borders open here…they need to replace all these young people who are dropping like flies. And all the babies in this post - it’s heartbreaking.
