Bishop, CA - A French pilot was found dead hiking in California after a two-day search in Mount Whitney, the National Park Service said Friday. Tom Gerbier, 38, reportedly fell 1,000 feet during a hike at California's Sequoia National Park this week, according to a parks service representative. The Air France pilot began his hike early Tuesday morning up the tallest mountain in the continental U.S. He was reported missing Wednesday when he didn't show up for his return flight. Ground teams for the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office began searching for the Fontenay-sous-Bois, France, native Wednesday with no result, the representative said. By Thursday, park and police authorities searched through Whitney's mountaineering route and found clues that the hiker may have fallen off a cliff named "The Notch." The parks service helicopter found a motionless hiker wearing clothing that matched Gerbier's description. His body was transferred to Tulare County Sheriff’s Office via helicopter where authorities confirmed his identity.

Terrible news from our amateur football. Yesterday the news came out that a youth player from KSC Lokeren-Temse suddenly died after a rare form of bacterial meningitis. Yesterday, the first team of the East Flemish team provided a wonderful tribute.
All matches at Lokeren were canceled this weekend (except the first team) after the sudden death of Tuur Ceulemans, a 16-year-old student from the Sint Joris Institute and a talent from the youth academy of the local football club. On Wednesday, the young man suddenly experienced symptoms of illness. “On Wednesday he suddenly became unwell and ended up in hospital that evening. On Thursday we received the message that Tuur had passed away. No one had seen something like this coming. It's really incomprehensible.”

Justice Minister Alma Zadic was shocked in a statement sent to the APA and called him an "extremely technically experienced lawyer who, with his expertise, has made a major contribution to the further development of criminal law." The 60-year-old was suspended in February 2021 due to various allegations. The news of his death also caused consternation in the ongoing criminal trial against ex-Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and his head of cabinet Bernhard Bonelli. One of the best theatre actors ever to come out of Espergærde Youth School's almost legendary musical program, Pernille Petersson, has died after a long illness. She was only 50 years old. The family confirmed this to Helsingør Dagblad on Tuesday evening. Pernille Petersson was suffering from an aggressive breast cancer that had spread to several parts of her body. Since the summer of 2022, she was receiving chemotherapy and, with the help of a fundraiser initiated by her girlfriends, she went on a trip to Germany to undergo special treatment.

Diagnosed in February with high-grade glioma, Lavender wished to be interviewed by Seacoastonline about her story as the community fundraised for her family. However, the girl’s condition rapidly deteriorated. In recent days, after being readmitted to the hospital on Sunday, Oct. 8, she was unable to swallow or speak, her mother said.

I call 112, but there is nothing to do," says Line Kjær Lassen. Anders has died - 35 years old. Father of two young children and Line's husband. A family of four became one to three. At the age of 37, Line has become a widow without any warning. According to an autopsy report, there was nothing wrong with him when he died. His heart simply stopped beating.
