Ukrainian pianist, musicologist and composer Oleksandr Kozarenko died in Ivano-Frankivsk at the age of 59. Director Yevhen Lavrenchuk wrote about the composer's death on his Facebook page. "Today at 5:00 the soul of the brilliant Ukrainian composer Oleksandr Kozarenko passed away. The last time we saw him was before the war, when we were planting trees on the Alley of Artists in Kyiv... Then we laughed, joked, spoke in all languages, he reacted funny when I deliberately called his opera "Pierro the Dead Petliura"... Sleep peacefully, Piero and the last of the Mohicans of the old Ukrainian intelligentsia," wrote Lavrenchuk.
