July 29, 2022
A 23-year-old Chinese tourist, residing in London, drowned today in the waters of Cala Corsara, on the island of Spargi, in the archipelago of La Maddalena [Italy]. The alarm was raised by a boat that was sailing in the area and which saw the young woman's body floating on the water. The men aboard the boat immediately contacted the Coast Guard. The military of the Port Authority, led by the commander Renato Signorini, intervened in the area with the help of a patrol boat. The 118 helicopter rescue also arrived on the spot, but the rescues were useless: the young woman was already dead. Investigations have begun to retrace the 23-year-old's last hours and understand if the girl has had an illness or if the causes of her death are other.

The community of Rosscarbery has been left shocked and saddened after the sudden passing of local business man John O’Reilly.
