Actor K Ramaraj was known for his role as a police officer from Avan Ivan, directed by Bala, was ill for the past one month and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Madurai. He passed away last night (July 11) at the age of 72. The actor's mortal remains have been brought back to his residence in his native town Mudukulathur, Ramanathapuram district. It is also reported that the last rites of K Ramaraj will be held today (July 12) afternoon after friends and family pay their respects.
Actor K Ramaraj initially worked as a manager in a cooperative bank in Mudukulathur, and later his debut in films he retired from the aforementioned job. He shared the screen space with Vishal and Arya in the 2011 Tamil film, and his scenes with both the actors are quite memorable. Post the success of Avan Ivan, K Ramaraj acted in several other Tamil films and delivered remarkable performances.

Young basketball player's death condoled

Chandigarh - Punjab Basketball Association has mourned the untimely death of its young promising player Sartaj Singh Virk who died suddenly due to brain hemorrhage in Canada. His body arrived here and was cremated at Sunet village. He was only 19 years old. His father Paramveer Singh is a farmer.
While expressing deep grief at his demise Punjab Basketball Association secretary Teja Singh Dhaliwal said that Sartaj was a member of the Punjab team which won gold in Khelo India Games held in Pune in 2019.
He also participated in the 35th Youth National Basketball Championship held at Udaipur in the same year. Sr. Basketball Coach Rajinder Singh has also expressed condolences. Meanwhile, the District Basketball Association treasurer Brij Goyal has also appealed to the Punjab Government to make all efforts that our sporting youth who excel in various sporting events are offered jobs in the State itself so that they are not allured to distant lands.

Toddler found dead in cradle, early probe rules out foul play

Kollam: A two-year-old girl was found dead in the cradle by the mother. It is not known yet whether it was cot death. A police investigation into the death of the child has commenced.
Fathima, daughter of Riyas and Beema, was found dead in the cradle a while after she was laid there. Her mother said that she had laid her in the cradle at noon. Later, when Beema tried to awake the child, she found her dead. The body was in a state of freeze.
The local people had informed the police about the death. According to the Kadakkal police, nothing suspicious has been found in the preliminary investigation. The police will continue with the probe.

Mumbai - A 73-year-old retired official of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) died while swimming at a civic-run swimming pool in suburban Kandivali, police said on Tuesday. Police suspect Bhalchandra Bhoi suffered a heart attack while swimming at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel swimming pool on Sunday. "After completing two rounds of swimming with his brother, Bhoi suddenly became unconscious inside the pool. Lifeguards on duty pulled him out of the water. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead," the official said. Kandivali police station senior police inspector Dinkar Jadhav said the deceased used to regularly come for swimming at the spot. “We suspect that he died of a heart attack. Police have registered a case of accidental death as his family members didn't have a complaint against anyone," he said.

Veteran actress Sharmili Ahmed died on Friday morning while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bangladesh capital Dhaka.
She was 75.
Actors Equity president Ahsan Habib Nasim confirmed the news.
‘Sharmili Ahmed was diagnosed [with[ cancer some days ago. She died at about 9:30am while undergoing treatment at the Evercare Hospital,’ said Ahsan Habib Nasim.

Another man waiting in fuel queue dies after falling ill

A 60-year-old man who was waiting in a fuel queue outside a filling station in Payagala has died after suddenly falling ill at around 2.30 a.m. today (July 07). He was pronounced dead after being rushed to the District General Hospital in Kalutara. The deceased, a three-wheeler driver by occupation, was identified as a residence of Moratuwa area.
No cause of death reported.

Woman killed herself after newlywed husband’s sudden death

Hong Kong - A woman killed herself at home in Tai Po after her husband died of a heart attack during a soccer match the day before. Police received a report at 9 am on Sunday that a 33-year-old woman hanged herself in an apartment at Fortune Plaza in Tai Po. She was certified dead on the scene and a suicide note was found.
It was understood that her husband had a football match with several friends at Wan Tau Kok Playground at about 9 pm on Saturday, but fell into a coma shortly after the game and died after being taken to the hospital. The woman married her 34-year-old husband for only three months and the duo lived together without a child. The incident was found by her family who were worried about her and came for a visit.

Masashi Aoyagi, who was a regular part of Pro Wrestling NOAH in the 2000s and 2010s, has passed away. PWInsider reports that Aoyagi died at the age of 65. No further details on his passing are available at this time.
Aoyagi joined the pro wrestling industry in 1989. A karate fighter, he worked his first match against Atsushi Oneida in a pro wrestling vs. karate bout at World Karate Association’s Korakuen Hall event in July of that year.

A passing boat found his body off the coast of Nago in Okinawa prefecture on the morning of July 6, 2022, and alerted the Japanese Coast Guard. He was wearing snorkeling equipment at the time. His identity was confirmed on July 7, 2022. Police and the Japanese Coast Guard are still investigating the exact circumstances of Takahashi’s death.

Director KN Sasidharan passes away

Malayan film director KN Sasidharan breathed his last on Monday (7-July-2022) morning. He was 72. According to the reports, He was staying in his residence in Edappally, Kochi. Sasidharan’s funeral will be held today evening. He is survived by his wife Veena Sasidharan and two children Rithu Sasidharan and Mukhil Sasidharan.
KN Sasidharan pursued his degree at the Pune film institute and made his directorial debut in Mollywood with the film ‘Akkare’ which was released in the year 1984. The story of the film was based on a novel by the same name which was written by PK Nandhanavarma. KN Sasidharan’s previous directorial film was ‘Nayana’ which was released in the year 2014 and revolved around the story of a seven-year-old artist named ‘Nayana’.
Apart from being a filmmaker, KN Sasidharan is prominently known as an advertisement director who has made several noteworthy Television advertisements including the popular advertisement for a washing soap with the catchphrase ‘Vannallo Vanamala’.

Comedian-director Philip Lazaro dies

The week has started on a sad note for local showbiz with the passing of actor-director and standup comedian Philip Lazaro on Monday. He was 52 years old.
A GMA News report said Lazaro died of multiple organ failure.
His family has yet to release an official statement but his nephew, Chico Lazaro Alinell, told GMA News that he noticed that his uncle had a hard time breathing when he visited him on Sunday.
