Great sadness for Duangpetch. The 17-year-old known as Dom was found unconscious in his room on Sunday and taken to a hospital, where he died on Tuesday. Relatives report this to the BBC. Dom had been enrolled in a UK football academy since late last year. The cause of death is not yet known, but reports say he suffered a head injury. Dom was captain of the Thai junior soccer team Wild Boars, which was trapped deep in a cave in Chiang Rai province for more than two weeks. His emaciated but smiling face, captured in a diver's light after the boys were found in the cave, was one of the most memorable images of the remarkable rescue operation.

A British woman scuba diver has died off the coast of Tenerife after 'suffering cardiac arrest'. Police on the island confirmed her nationality today as they said an investigation was underway into the 63-year-old’s death. The tragedy occurred around 11 am on Saturday off a beach in the municipality of Fasnia in eastern Tenerife. A spokesman for a government-run regional emergency response centre said: “We received an alert saying a female scuba diver had been brought out of the sea and needed medical assistance after a dive. Another scuba diver that identified himself as a doctor explained she had suffered cardiac arrest and he had begun to perform CPR. Medical responders continue to try to revive her when they arrived but were unable to do so and she was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Veteran rower dies after race

Tributes have been paid to a rower who died after taking part in a race in Henley. Tim Senior, 51, had been competing for Upper Thames Rowing Club at the Henley Fours and Eights Head on Saturday when he collapsed in the boat. He is thought to have suffered a heart attack as the Masters D eight, for those over 50, paddled back to the club’s boathouse. His crewmates tried to resuscitate him and he was taken to the event’s medical tent for treatment and then to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, where he was pronounced dead. The crew had just defeated a composite crew of Taurus Boat Club and Llandaff Rowing Club by about 11 seconds on the 3,000m course. Crewmate Peter Jacobs said: “The crew were paddling back to the Upper Thames clubhouse when he suddenly collapsed without warning. Tim’s crewmates, the event water safety team and medical teams did everything possible but they were unable to revive Tim.”

A Scots RNLI hero has been hailed a ‘true gent’ with an ‘incredible dedication to saving lives at sea’ following his sudden death. Dozens of heartfelt tributes have poured in for operations manager Stan MacRae, who helped establish RNLI Kessock Lifeboat, based near Inverness, more than 25 years ago. His tragic passing was announced by grieving colleagues at the charity on Wednesday, February 15, with flags at the station lowered to half-mast. Writing on social media, they said: “It is with the greatest of sadness that we share the devastating news of the sudden and unexpected passing of one of our founding RNLI members Stan MacRae.”

Zoe Green, from Kettering, suffered a sudden cardiac arrest last Tuesday morning with her unborn son, who she had already decided to name Cobie, also passing away due to a lack of oxygen. The 26-year-old was mum to Lincoln, five, Oakleigh, four, and Ralphie, who was 10 months.

A 'delivery driver' died while dropping off parcels in a Scots town. Emergency crews raced to Hollybush Road in Crieff, Perthshire on Thursday evening. The alarm was raised at around 4.55 pm after cops were made aware of the sudden death of a 52-year-old man. It is understood the man was a delivery driver and died during his shift. A source said: "He got out of the van, made the delivery and got back into his van and dropped dead. He was found by a customer." Police confirm that there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

A man has died following an incident that closed a busy Cambridge road on Friday (February 17). Paramedics were called to Perowne Street after the man suffered a medical episode shortly before 6 pm. Police shut Mill Road around the railway bridge - with traffic diverted as a result. Unfortunately nothing could be done to save the man and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is being treated as non-suspicious.

Shaun Conroy (49) from the Sixmilecross area died suddenly on Tuesday, with his club suspending all activities as a mark of respect. A family notice said he was a loving husband to his wife Caroline and father to Darragh, Caoimhe, Neil and Brian.
