Itta Shedletzky is dead: spinning threads
February 5, 2023
At the beginning of the nineties, a manuscript began to circulate in Germany, which caused lively discussions under the cumbersome title "Discussion of literature and fiction in the Jewish journals in Germany 1837-1918". The author Itta Shedletzky brought to light a world that had previously remained unrecognized behind the big names and their books. For the first time, she made visible the breadth and depth of the emancipation discourses that had been emerging since 1837. Born in Zurich in 1943 and living in Israel since 1962, Shedletzky had attracted attention at that time with a large number of essays and anthologies on German-Jewish literature. Trained by Israel's most important historian Jacob Katz, she came into contact early on with the decisive figure of the so-called "German-Jewish symbiosis": Gershom Scholem. The Kabbalah and mysticism researcher encouraged Shedletzky to do the work and accompanied her until his death in 1982. On Friday evening, Itta Shedletzky died suddenly and completely unexpectedly in the middle of a conversation with friends, a few days before her 80th birthday. Two conferences were planned to pay tribute to her work. Now that she is gone , she will be missed.

There is nothing normal and Ok with a 21yr old fit athlete and a form 3 pupil dying suddenly while doing what they love, which happens to be everyday sports. If these are the "so called" ones that make the news, what about the many that will never. I mean think about that.
Nothing is definitely normal about this in any way shape or form.
Thanks again Mark and team for shining the light on this egregious evil.
