BJP leader and actress Sonali Phogat dies of heart attack in Goa

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and actress Sonali Phogat died after suffering a heart attack on Monday night in Goa, a family member said. Phogat had gone to Goa with a few of her staff members. She died at Grand Leoney Resort, Anjuna, where she had gone to attend a function. She was 43.
Phogat was born and brought up in a middle-class family in Bhuthan village in Haryana's Fatehabad. She contested the 2019 assembly election from Haryana from the Adampur constituency on a BJP ticket against Kuldeep Bishnoi, who recently switched over to the BJP from the Congress. After resigning as the Adampur legislator, Bishnoi broke the ice with his arch-rival Sonali Phogat.
The 43-year-old actor made her electoral debut in 2019, when she was locked in a direct contest against Kuldeep Bishnoi – a three-time MLA and son of former two-time chief minister Bhajan Lal – in one of the most keenly watched contests in Haryana. Despite losing the election, Phogat's popularity – primarily as an internet sensation – maintained her following as a politician not just in Adampur but also in other parts of the state.

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala had the equivalent of about $420 to invest when he began his career as a value hunter in the Indian stock market in 1985. Over time, he honed his skills at making long-term investments in well-managed companies, an approach that earned him the unofficial title of India’s Warren Buffett. Forbes magazine recently estimated his net worth at $5.8 billion.
Millions of small investors mimicked his trades. He gave speeches to groups including the Millennium Mams, an organization for housewives eager to learn about business. His office décor included images of Hindu deities as well as sketches of Mr. Buffett and George Soros.
Mr. Jhunjhunwala studied “the people behind the business” rather than basing his investment decisions only on current performance, said Deven Choksey, managing director of KRChoksey Shares & Securities Pvt. Ltd. Among his most successful investments was a stake in Titan, a maker of watches and jewelry.
Mr. Jhunjhunwala died Aug. 14 at the age of 62. A nephew, Vishal Gupta, said the cause of death was cardiac arrest.

Virendrasinh Raghuvanshi, Deputy General Manager (GM) of Indian Isle in Mangalia, Indore, died after exercising in the gym. It is being told that the Deputy GM was returning home after a workout from the gym on Saturday evening, during which he suffered a heart attack and lost his life.
According to Lasudia police station ASI Ram Parmar, 54-year-old Virendrasinh Raghuvanshi, resident of Shalimar Township (Premium Tower-1) located on AB Road, had got a booster dose of Corona on Saturday morning, after which he went to the gym in the evening. He was returning after exercising in the gym at 8:30 pm, during which he felt dizzy and fell. He suffered a minor injury near his eye due to the fall. His son Aman took him to a private hospital, but the doctor declared the deputy GM brought dead. Virendra Singh Raghuvanshi was originally a resident of Ashok Nagar in Madhya Pradesh. He was completely healthy but suddenly died of a heart attack.

Headmaster dies of cardiac arrest while delivering I-Day speech

The headmaster of a private school died after falling sick while delivering a speech on the occasion of Independence Day at Vidyasagar Sishu Niketan in north Bengal’s Alipurduar district on Monday. According to a schoolteacher, speaking at the Independence Day event at the school, Lakshman Das (55) suddenly fell unconscious and was rushed to a local hospital where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. According to doctors, Das died of cardiac arrest.
“The headmaster was feeling unwell in the morning, but he insisted that he would participate in the school event. He participated in a students’ procession, and later, he was delivering a lecture when he fell sick again. We took him to a hospital but he could not be revived,” said schoolteacher Pinki Das.
Shibani Das, the principal’s wife, said her husband had a heart problem and was unwell for some days. “The doctor had advised him to take rest and talk less. But, on Sunday, he spent long hours at the school overseeing preparations for the Independence Day event,” said Shibani.

Gurugram - In a tragic incident, a Class 4 girl student of a private school in Gurugram died under mysterious circumstances on Monday morning, reported news agency IANS quoting officials. The deceased has been identified as Amyra Walia, a resident of Sector 65. A video of the incident has also surfaced on social media in which the 11-year-old girl can be seen stumbling near the stairs inside the school and then falling due to dizziness. The school authority immediately rushed her to the nearest hospital, where doctors declared her dead. “The exact cause behind the death of the student will be known after an autopsy. The parents did not file any complaint against anyone. We have launched a probe into the incident,” Deepak Kumar, SHO of Sector 65 police station, told IANS.

51-year-old Filipino domestic helper found dead by employer in Rose Court in Happy Valley

Hong Kong - At around 12.07 pm today, a resident at Rose Court, 115-117 Wong Nai Chung Road, Happy Valley, reported to police, saying that his 51-year-old Filipino domestic helper had fainted in the room. Paramedics arrived at the scene and certified that she was dead. Police did not seize a suicide note at the scene. The cause of death is to be determined after an autopsy.

Dead man found guarded by dog in Chonburi

Residents of Pornthep Village 7 said they could smell a stench wafting from house number 99/5. Police and rescue workers then broke open the door and tracked the smell into the bedroom to find a human corpse lying face down in a bed. The male body was naked and would have died about a week ago. Heartbreakingly, police officers also found a small dog sitting next to the body, apparently guarding its owner. The dog was protective and barked at rescue teams who eventually managed to get the dog away safely with no injuries to the animal or rescue personnel.
After searching the room, the police found a pillbox named Mr. Somkid Wannasud, 48. However, it was still unclear whether Mr. Somkid was or wasn't. At this time, the body was being cared for by Banglamung Hospital pending an identification process. The dog is safe, according to rescuers, although the exact location was not immediately made clear to the media.

Shannon Sime, a 29-year-old hairdresser from the UK who had been living on the Gold Coast, suffered a stroke on August 5 and sadly lost her life three days later. In a final act of selflessness Ms Sime donated her organs, potentially saving the lives of five people....A close friend of the couple, Daniel O'Hara, said Ms Sime's stroke was 'out of the blue' and she hadn't been ill at the time.

A family friend who launched the fundraiser on behalf of Ben's mother, Kelly Maloney-Penrose, says Ben went to sleep and never woke up. He worked at Fitness First Sylvania and at Cronulla, alongside his mother at the gym. Described as a confident young man who always greeted gym members as they arrived with a smile, Ben studied at Lucas Heights Community School and Heathcote High School.

Ioane ‘John’ King, one of the prominent cast members of the Starz drama Spartacus, has died at age 49 of adenocarcinoma cancer, which spread to his pancreas and other organs. Manu Bennett, who played Crixus in the show, paid tribute to his co-star on Instagram.

I remember John most fondly for his huge grin & sparkle in his eye when he would welcome me & others onto set each day, offering the Gladiatorial forearm handshake & acknowledging in his deep raspy voice, ‘Brother!’” His family said the actor “passed in the company of loving friends and family.”
