Renowned South African software engineer Professor Barry Dwolatzky has passed away.

His colleague at the University of Witwatersrand’s Joburg Centre of Software Engineering (JCSE), Adrian Schofield, confirmed the news to ITWeb that Dwolatzky passed away today. He was 71 years old, and is survived by his wife, Rina King, and children, Jodie and Leslie. “Professor Emeritus Barry Dwolatzky passed away on the morning of 16 May 2023 after a brief illness,” says Schofield.

Saudi actor Fahad Al-Hayyan passed away on Monday at the age of 52

Riyadh — Saudi actor Fahad Al-Hayyan passed away on Monday at the age of 52. Al-Hayyan was most famous for his roles in various Saudi comedy shows including Tash ma Tash. Al-Hayyan’s notable role in the famous Saudi series Tash ma Tash started in the second season and although he had a secondary role but proved very popular among Saudis. The artist moved to production in 2006, at a time when he felt that he was well-quipped for production. He produced Ghashamsham. He was also the lead star of the show that ran for six seasons. In 2014, he announced his retirement, which shocked his fans. He, however, came out later and apologized saying that he felt he wasn’t being treated fairly in the sector.

The famous Kuban artist Sergei Vorzhev has passed away.

Famous Kuban artist Sergey Vorzhev has died at the age of 73. This was announced by Vice Governor Anna Minkova in her Telegram channel. “One of the most famous creative figures of the Kuban, Honored Artist of Russia, holder of the Order of Peter the Great, I degree, Sergei Dmitrievich Vorzhev, has left us. I was not just familiar with him, he was my good friend and creative mentor,” she wrote on social networks. Sergey Vorzhev is the author of regional, all-Russian and international exhibitions. Most of his work was closely connected with the Kuban.

Deputy minister for science and higher education died on May 20 during a return flight from Cuba

Russia's deputy minister for science and higher education died on May 20 during a return flight from Cuba, where he was participating in meetings as part of a government delegation, RBC reported. Pyotr Kucherenko, 46, became seriously ill on the nearly 12-hour flight back home. The pilot made an emergency landing in southern Russia for medical attention; however, doctors could not save Kucherenko's life. The cause of his death was not immediately known. Kucherenko was traveling with Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Andrei Guskov, the deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s department for Latin America.
