Note: Because our South America researcher is on hiatus, this week there are just a few items from that region, included at the end.
CANADA
A note from our lead Canada researcher:
As high as it is—higher even than the toll in Italy, although Canada has a much smaller population—the weekly toll that we have been recording in these compilations is much lower than it ought to be, due to the terseness of obituaries from some of Canada’s highly multicultural populations. The death notices from those communities are less detailed than those from the general population.
There is a similar void of information in our northern regions. It is extremely difficult to find death notices of any kind for those communities, whose rate of “sudden deaths” may well be hidden. What all this means, in short, is that the true rate of “sudden deaths” in Canada is probably much higher–perhaps five times higher–than the quite high rate that we’ve recorded here.
A note on suicides:
Suicides by young people are up 22% during the pandemic in Canada and 17 other countries (and it’s why we’re including suicides in our compilations):

August 27, 2023
If you are reading this you’ll know that I made my exit from life on Friday, August 25, 2023. I departed from the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow after a short (but it didn’t seem so short!) bout of cancer. On a day pass from the hospital on August 20, it allowed me to attend my son’s wedding (Justin and Sacha) and have a wonderful waltz with him that meant so very much. The pass also allowed me to meet my new triplet grand daughters (from John and Andrea) for the very first time and it allowed me to mingle with family and friends one final time. What more can a mother and grandmother hope for. I was completed. I had been a patient in Palliative Care for a couple of weeks. I feel at peace and I am ready for my next journey. In my lifetime I held only 2 jobs- 23 years with Westburne Industries followed by 23 years with Harris & Roome/Graybar. I retired in good health in August 2021.

Federico Delgado died: a disruptive prosecutor who escaped formality and investigated an extensive list of corruption cases
August 27, 2023
With an extensive judicial career, he participated in the investigation of the "mega swap", the Tragedy of Eleven, bribery in the Senate, the Panama Papers and the deaths in Time Warp. Federico Delgado -who died this Sunday at the age of 54 - was the head of the prosecutor's office 6 in Comodoro Py. In his office he had an extensive list of corruption cases. Few of them came to trial with a conviction, while others are still waiting for the oral debate to take place. As a representative of the Public Prosecutor's Office, he was a disruptive figure within the Retiro court building: his criticism of the system did not exempt anyone. Always on a bicycle, wearing a black T-shirt and refusing the formalities imposed by the Comodoro Py building, prosecutor Delgado imposed a style inside and outside his prosecutor's office. His people understood his rhythm. Federico Delgado was head of the prosecutor's office located on the fifth floor of the judicial building. He claimed not to have friends in there, publicly criticized the system of which he was a part and gave a name and surname to the malfunction. Federico Delgado (54), Argentine federal prosecutor; lung cancer (b. 1969)
I've been watching THE CULLING here weekly on your site and listening to it hourly with sirens some days it seems nonstop.
We've lived here in Scarborough Ontario CHINADA for 25 years and sirens never stop now.
I'm out still trying to connect with folks daily on beautiful days like today with my bike and my Druthers papers.
This seems like a movie some days.
Hard to believe there are humans still listening to gub'ment mandates.
Wow 😯 that’s a list. My prayers to my northern neighbors. My gosh my heart breaks for Canada 🇨🇦💔 I hope people wake up soon. My own extended family members don’t even know this is happening. When I tell them they look at me like I am insane. My heart breaks for all of us 😔 thank you Canadian team 🙏
