A father, a mother and their 18-year-old daughter, from the Paris region, were on board their boat on Lac des Settons, Wednesday July 27, around 7 p.m., for a water skiing session. Madame leads the boat, while her husband puts on the skis and their 16-year-old daughter films the scene. Only, the man, 46 years old, falls, and does not get up. He is lifeless, in cardio-respiratory arrest.
Seeing this, her daughter immediately dives into the water, removes her skis while her mother calls for help. With the help of paddlists, the young girl manages to bring her father back to the banks, and gives him first aid. While waiting for the firefighters, she performs cardiac massage, and people present on the spot find an emergency defibrillator.
The gendarmes of the Montsauche-les-Settons brigade help the firefighters to get to them, try to resuscitate the victim, while the Smur d'Avallon is on the way, and a doctor from the Dijon University Hospital already in a helicopter to help. Despite this important device, the father of the family was declared dead shortly before 8:30 p.m.
Warned, Paul-Edouard Lallois, magistrate on duty, decided not to order investigations, because the origin of the death is unfortunately not in doubt. Especially with the video of the scene which was filmed and viewed by the gendarmes.

A Dutch tourist dies while wakeboarding

Pisogne, Italy - A 52-year-old Dutch tourist died yesterday in hospital in Brescia after having remained underwater for a long time in the Sebino between Pisogne, Costa Volpino and Lovere. The man, Patrick Van Dijk, yesterday afternoon was practicing wakeboarding, a water sport including water skiing and snowboarding, pulled by a motorboat on which there were his wife and some friends.

University student, 23, dies suddenly on the beach
