A 78-year-old man died yesterday in the Piazzetta Augusteo station of the Central Funicular. Help was useless. The 118 health workers could not help but ascertain the death of the elderly person who was a resident of Soccavo. On board the funicular there was a doctor who gave first aid to the man, practicing a heart massage for a few minutes, but this was not enough to save the life of the 78-year-old.

Stefano Russo, the "Spartan" athlete who died at 34 in the Cesenatico obstacle course

"May Stefano rest in peace." Sorrow and condolences of the "Spartan community" for the death of Stefano Russo at 34 years of age, struck by an illness during the Spartan Race in Cesenatico, last Saturday. The athlete collapsed suddenly 1,800 meters after the start of the race. Immediately rescued and transported to the Bufalini hospital in Cesena, he unfortunately died on Monday. The man from Como surrendered after two days of fighting in the hospital.
Stefano Russo, 34, was an athlete from the province of Como, known and appreciated. The news of his sudden death caused pain and bewilderment. The fatal illness struck him less than 2 kilometers after the start of a 5 kilometer course with obstacles, wooden walls, ropes and grids. A competition that he had prepared for and which he had trained. The athlete from Como collapsed suddenly. Rescue is immediate, as the organizers explain in the note.
The 34-year-old struggled for two days in the hospital, then died. “The Spartan community clings to the Russo family and expresses its deepest condolences to Stefano's family and in respect of the pain invites maximum reserve around the immeasurable misfortune”, the message of Spartan Race.

21-year-old Italian athlete Gianmarco Verdi collapses and dies while out at dinner

A young fit and healthy Italian athlete has died suddenly from a suspected heart attack while out at dinner with friends in the Italian town of Torre Maina on Sunday, May 29th.
Gianmarco Verdi was one of the top athletes at the Atletica Frignano sports club, in 2018 he competed in the Cross-Country Student World Championships in Paris.
According to reports, the 21-year-old athlete collapsed on his side and became unconscious. Friends immediately called emergency services whilst a health worker who happened to be at the restaurant at the time, started CPR.
When paramedics arrived they were able to resuscitate Verdi and take him to a hospital in Baggiovara, however, he passed away not long after arriving at the hospital.

Pradamano - World of sport in mourning for the sudden death of the young Giacomo Gorenszach, aged 25. He was originally from San Pietro al Natisone, but for some time he had settled, together with his fiancée, in the hamlet of Bolzano, in the Municipality of San Giovanni al Natisone.
A former pupil of the "Paolino d'Aquileia" Isis Technical Economic Institute in Cividale, Giacomo was one of the flagships of the Serenissima football team of Pradamano, now in shock - like the entire valley community and that of Bolzano - for the tragic loss. He worked in a company operating in the technical sector.
In tears the vice-principal of the "Paolino d'Aquileia", Loredana Faidutti, who had also been a teacher of Gorenszach and who therefore knew him well: "We are shocked. An immense pain", she says.

Skilled and talented in mixing, however, he was also loved for the way he played his role, not just a familiar face beyond the counter but a person able to entertain with irony and cordiality - perhaps speaking of other great passions such as Bruce Springsteen, music and cinema - but also listening, as evidenced by the many messages of affection and condolence that in the last few hours have been published on his Facebook wall where, until two days ago, he kept everyone updated on bottles to try or appointments around for Italy in which to find him talking about what had made him known and appreciated. Like the last participation in the Cocktail Fest in Sarzana, where last Saturday he was immortalized smiling and with some bottles in hand.

Luigi Sosso, 50, died after drinking an iced drink. The tragedy in front of the daughters

A real tragedy that struck the community of Ausonia yesterday afternoon. An iced drink was probably fatal for Luigi Sosso. The man, about fifty years old, who in his life was a driver employed by a company in the area, died suddenly after drinking a cold drink in his home, in the locality of Rotondoli. The misfortune would be consummated in front of his daughters, who desperately tried to help him and immediately requested a doctor's intervention. Uselessly. The attempt to revive him also operated by the 118 doctors, who promptly rushed to the man's house, did not give the desired results and Luigi Sosso died after a few minutes.
Maybe he had a heart attack caused by congestion due to the cold drink. Luigi Sosso was a golden boy, a good man, completely dedicated to family and work: this is how everyone who knew him in Ausonia describes him. Luigi yesterday sought relief from the scorching heat in a cool drink, like everyone else. Maybe too fresh. One of the risks of the sultry days we are experiencing is precisely that of running into congestion which in itself is always caused by the cold, or rather, by the temperature change in the abdominal area: therefore, one of its causes is first of all the iced drink, even more so if drunk quickly. Congestion - in any case - can have serious or very serious consequences as the cardiovascular system could go haywire causing heart failure.
What happens is a vasoconstriction during which blood drains from the gastrointestinal tract. To keep the body temperature constant and balanced, the brain "draws" the blood that the heart has pumped in greater quantities to the abdomen. For this reason, one should not go out immediately after eating, from an environment that is too cold in one with a much higher temperature or vice versa, nor drink an iced drink after a large meal. This afternoon at 5 pm the funeral of the fifty-year-old will be held in the village, then his body will be buried in the municipal cemetery.

A 27-year-old girl, Andrea Nairi, has apparently died following a domestic accident in her apartment in Quartu, Sardinia. The young woman would fall out of the house and hit her head against a metal gate. In Menfi, a 71-year-old pensioner was found dead inside his home. There had been no news for days, and the alarmed neighbors launched the SOS.

Cilento, drama at the sea. Orlando notary caught by illness loses his life

The sad discovery was made by his uncle, Danilo Martignago, alarmed by his parents who were unable to get in touch with him. When the doctor and nurses from Suem di Crespano intervened on the spot, there was nothing more to be done for the 36-year-old. There is nothing left to do but record the death of the 36-year-old.
The man, an employee of an industrial laundry in Montebelluna, was alone at home: his parents were out of town, in Switzerland, for a couple of days (his father is a hauler) and will return only in a few hours. A fantastic person: this is how the community of Verolanuova remembers Antonio Calzi. There are no voices out of the chorus: in the hundreds of messages of condolence entrusted to social networks, the goodness and availability - but also the great irony - of the 66-year-old who everyone in the village calls 'Antoine' is underlined.
He died in recent days, struck down by a heart attack accused within the walls of his home. A sudden death that has thrown into despair not only the beloved sisters and the many, many friends, but the whole community.
Janitor by profession, for decades he had worked at the Pascal-Mazzolari high school in Manerbio, he had always cultivated an immeasurable passion for music. Bass player known locally, since he retired a few years ago, he had devoted most of his time to the cultural association "Fish for you", of which he was a member.
"My heart cries, he was a fantastic person", we read among hundreds of heartbreaking messages entrusted to social networks. "He was a really good person and I remember our chats, his irony and his laughter," adds a friend. And, again: "Hi Antoine, as we all called you: your memory will always be alive in our hearts".
He leaves two sisters and many friends in pain. Dozens of people are expected for the last farewell, which will be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon, at 3 pm, in the Basilica of San Lorenzo in Verolanuova.

Manfredi della Gherardesca, 60, died suddenly in his sleep

Farewell to Count Manfredi della Gherardesca, third son of Guelfo della Gherardesca. Manfredi, who would have turned 61 on 5 August, had just returned from a trip abroad: he died in his sleep in Castello della Gherardesca. A well-known and internationally appreciated art dealer, he was a lover of beauty and a music lover.
His sudden death left an immense void in his family and in all who knew him. Manfredi, married to the Bavarian princess Dora Lowenstein, leaves behind his two children Aliotto and Margherita. “My brother was an artist, a man who put his family name up abroad. He has given impetus to our name, playing the Christian part of the family that I have not been able to make. A good brother, for the physical distance, I in Milan and he around the world, we could not live that much. Now was the time when they could be together, but he is gone,” said Gaddo della Gherardesca.
Since 2000, Manfredi della Gherardesca was managing director at MDG Fine Arts and Interiors. Previously he had directed the Italy section of the Sotheby auction house for years. He loved to travel the world and immortalize all the architectural, pictorial and sculptural beauties but when he could, he always returned home to Tuscany, tied, like his brothers, to the Upper Maremma and to the Castello della Gherardesca.

Sassari - A 39-year-old woman was rescued three days ago on the street in via Zanfarino in Sassari by a person worried about her condition. After being hospitalized and subjected to some investigations, the woman died in hospital on Monday and now the prosecutor is investigating the case.

A 64-year-old man died in Forlì, following a sudden illness that hit him while he was shopping in a well-known shopping center. The 64-year-old suddenly felt ill and those present tried to help him. Unfortunately for him there was nothing to do. And, as has been happening for some time now, the most wary of the Covid vaccine continue to ask themselves only one question: was the man vaccinated? And if the answer is yes, could the serum have something to do with the sudden illness and therefore with his death?
The sudden illness struck the 64-year-old while he was at the well-known "Puntadiferro" shopping center in Forlì, in the Marche region. At that time the building was full of people, especially in the food court. Many were shopping and shopping of various kinds, including the man who later died. In particular, he was in the bathroom area ofthe "square" where there are bars and restaurants. While he was walking quietly he felt ill and collapsed on the ground.
The past immediately tried to give him a hand but there was nothing more to do for him, unfortunately. The man from the Marches, following the sudden illness, died. And if the answer is yes, could the serum be connected with his alleged sudden illness and therefore with his death? Unfortunately, at the moment, all these questions are destined to remain doubtful. In fact, there is no news on the vaccination of the young man. However, given his age, it cannot be ruled out that he was vaccinated against Coronavirus.
Glad one questioned jab status. Since when is a cold drink on a hot day a cause of death?
