November 19, 2022
KIX drummer Jimmy “Chocolate” Chalfant was carried off stage after suffering a suspected heart attack during the band’s concert Friday night. The incident took place at KIX‘s concert at the Tally Ho Theater in Leesburg, Virginia, with one source telling Metal Sludge: “He (Jimmy Chalfant) was carried off and we’re waiting on a final word from paramedics.” The source also added: “It happened right after his drum solo, and the band was about to start ‘Cold Blood‘. It was crazy. The ambulance was there within two minutes.” Some of those who were in attendance shared videos to social media, with one person writing: “Please keep Jimmy from KIX in your thoughts. He just collapsed at the KIX show encore at the Talley Ho. No pulse and lots of CPR etc. Amazing show tonight. I hope it wasn’t his last.” This would not be the first time Chalfant has had cardiac issues. Back in September 2021, the drummer suffered a heart attack at his home and was rushed to the hospital where he underwent immediate lifesaving surgery.
UConn assistant coach Chris Dailey released from hospital after collapsing before game vs. NC State
November 20, 2022
[University of Connecticut] women’s basketball assistant coach Chris Dailey was taken off the court in a stretcher after collapsing before the team’s game with NC State at the XL Center on Sunday. Dailey received medical attention after appearing to vomit and falling to the floor following the national anthem, just before the game was about to start. She was taken off in a stretcher and could be seen waving to the crowd as she left the court. UConn released a statement saying Dailey was conscious and alert before being taken to UConn Health. She was released after an examination. After the game, UConn head coach Geno Auriemma said Dailey was “awake and alert,” and said she’d be able to head home. "First thing, CD’s good. Everything tested out pretty good. Nothing serious, nothing threatening,” Auriemma said. The 63-year-old Dailey has been an assistant on Geno Auriemma’s staff since 1985.

'I'm grateful': Jamal Meeks is back on Ball State's sideline weeks after suffering a heart attack
November 21, 2022
Muncie, Ind. — It's not a day Jamal Meeks likes to remember, but it's a day that will forever be hard to forget. Once in bed, he laid on his left side and said his left arm "felt like a million pounds." So he switched to his right side, then got a sharp pain in his left armpit. He flipped over again and the pain hit him again. He got up and went downstairs, got a glass of water, ate part of a banana and laid on his ottoman. Then, he began sweating profusely and felt nauseous. He woke up his wife and told her he needed to go to the hospital. She immediately knew something was wrong. The two drove to the hospital, less than 10 minutes away from their home, and Meeks received an X-Ray from the emergency room doctors. They called a cardiologist and prepared him for surgery. Turns out, Meeks had a clogged artery, which caused a heart attack. The doctors put a stent in, opening up the artery to get better flow. Once Meeks awoke from surgery, he said the relief was instant. Heart disease runs in his family, but Meeks, like so many others, doesn't always take the proper steps to maintain proper health. Meeks works out regularly, which kept the damage to his heart at a minimum, but he said he also likes to eat "all the stuff that's not good for you."

After surviving stroke, 16-year-old McDowell is truly a Mount Pleasant miracle
November 19, 2022
Mount Pleasant, NC — Tylin McDowell is a miracle — a 6-foot-3, 230-pound miracle. That’s what the Mount Pleasant High School football player’s mother will tell you. That’s the only way, Crystal Rodgers-Butt said, that mere days after a stroke took motor and cognitive skills from her otherwise-healthy 16-year-old son, he’s smiling and communicating and doing so much on his own now. No one expected something like this would happen to Tylin. Not a stroke. Not for a big, strong 10th-grader who tossed iron around in the weight room like it was dirty laundry and then excelled as a defensive lineman on the Tigers’ football team on Friday nights. Strokes — supposedly anyway — happened to older people, folks with underlying health conditions. “I honestly thought it was something from football because he had just played the game the night before,” Crystal said. “I thought, ‘I bet he has another concussion.’ I just immediately thought ‘football.’” “They told us they found a blood clot on his brain,” Tim [his father] continued. “The blood clot comes from a carotiv, a section in the neck. Google says, basically, the artery split in two through trauma.” Tim said that’s when the family began to wonder: Was it indeed football that had them in the emergency room praying for Tylin? “It’s scary. Mount Pleasant just got new helmets before the season, and you try to keep him as safe as you can. But at the end of the day, it’s still football. It was really disbelief. You just don’t hear of anyone his age having a stroke.” Added Tim, “Some of the other surgeons were thinking that maybe he had an underlying health condition that went undetected, but all reports from CMC are leaning toward trauma.” According to Tim and Crystal, neither of them has a history of strokes in their families. Either way, Tylin would require emergency surgery to remove the blood clot.
Two runners had cardiac arrests. A cardiologist was racing behind them.
November 24, 2022
Steven Lome, a cardiologist and distance runner, had never witnessed anybody experience a cardiac arrest during a road race. Nor did he expect to use his professional skills outside work. But while running the Monterey Bay Half Marathon in California on Nov. 13, Lome saw not one, but two runners collapse on the course, and he performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on both. The two runners, men in their 50s and 60s, survived and are expected to make full recoveries, Lome recounted in a Twitter thread.

'I thought I was done for': Popular Vancouver radio DJ recovering after heart attack
November 20, 2022
First, it should be said that Drex, the morning show host on Jack 96.9, is recovering in a cardiac ward right now. However, Friday night, Nov. 18, he wasn't sure he'd make it as pain radiated from his chest. He'd been eating dinner and watching the news on TV alone (his husband was at work). He started to feel ill, but wasn't sure what the sensation meant, describing it as feeling like he had to throw up or poop. Within a couple of minutes Drex felt his chest get tight and the pain became more serious. He tried calling his husband, but wasn't able to get a hold of him. He tried calling a friend, who urged him to hang up and call 911 immediately, which he did. Within 10 to 12 minutes he says firefighters arrived, and then EMTs. Those looking for his return to the airwaves, though, will have to wait until earl-2023, he says, as a 4-to-6-week recovery is expected. At the same time, he's had to deal with an international anti-vaccine crowd jumping to conclude his heart attack was due to a vaccine; he's quick to point out his family history, diet and a lack of exercise as the real reason. He's gone on to block hundreds, many not from the area. “The facts are that my family has a history of heart disease. My grand mother and my father have both had triple bypasses.”

November 19, 2022
For a few hours another dramatic video has been circulating on social media. A young journalist who is conducting the news has a sudden illness, he cannot spell words and after a few seconds he freezes and collapses. This is the 28-year-old journalist of "Telemundo" Jeremy Ortiz, struck live by sudden illness Wednesday morning, November 16. The Puerto Rican newspaper "Primera Hora" wrote on Thursday, November 17: "Jeremy Ortiz Portalatín will rest for several days after the sudden illness he suffered yesterday during the broadcast of the program Hoy Día Puerto Rico. The reporter was discharged yesterday and is in stable health after experiencing difficulties live. Doctors linked the incident to an adverse reaction to a drug, Telemundo television network said. In a video published on Thursday afternoon, the young journalist spoke about the tests that were carried out yesterday and reiterated that he was fine. "Yesterday I went to the Pavía Santurce hospital and they treated me very well, I was there all day, they evaluated me for about 8 hours and I had no health problems," he said. "They did a CT scan of my head, a chest X-ray, an echocardiogram to check my heart, took a blood sample, a urine sample, did multiple tests, even tested me for COVID and flu and tested negative; I still have a cough from the weather change I had when I was recently on vacation and the doctor told me that everything went well, there is no sign of head tumor or cerebrovascular accident, nor any brain obstruction or any artery. All the results went well," he said. Historic Telemundo TV host Jorge Rivera Nieves said: "Fortunately it's nothing serious. We were very frightened by witnessing the sudden illness live". Jeremy Ortiz in recent months participated in the television campaign to promote the Covid vaccine and posted on social media a selfie while receiving the vaccine on April 21, 2021 with this message: "Praying that with the end of the pandemic and also the end of indifference and selfishness, which have played a leading role in the spread of Covid-19."

Oscar Garré, world champion with the Argentine national team, suffered a cardiac arrest
November 20, 2022
Within hours of the start of a new World Cup in Qatar, very sensitive news was released for the Argentine fan: Oscar Garré, world champion winger in Mexico in 1986, suffered a cardiac arrest when he was about to travel to the Middle Eastern country along with others former Argentine players who had established themselves. He is currently in intensive care, where he will remain at least until Monday, and his condition is stable, although he had to have two stents placed. In addition to being part of that team that won the country's second World Cup, led by Carlos Bilardo, Garré (65 years old) was also a fundamental part of that historic Ferro team of the 1980s that won the National Tournaments of 1982 and 1984, under the technical direction of Carlos Timoteo Griguol. After his retirement, he was the coach of Lanús and Atlético de Rafaela, as well as the U17 team, when Bilardo was the director of national teams.

A student had a breakdown and the SIEN took more than 40 minutes to reach the school
November 16, 2022
Moments of anguish and despair were experienced at School 140 on Tuesday afternoon. A student in the third cycle of primary school had a breakdown and had to wait more than 40 minutes until the ambulance arrived with medical assistance. The student's fainting occurred while he was participating in the final details of the work that he would present with his classmates in the week of the arts. “A very complex situation arose because a student fainted. He couldn't breathe, they called the ambulance and it didn't come. They called several times”, the general secretary of Aten Capital Angélica Lagunas told LMNeuquén. 20 days ago, the Neuquén Integrated Emergency System (SIEN) denounced that there were a lack of ambulances and that is why they were not going to schools to help emergencies. On Tuesday it was the experience of school 140. Lagunas assured that the student was very ill and the teachers thought that the worst could happen to her. “It was very desperate,” she said. In desperation, the teachers and principals contacted the head of the police station closest to the school, located at Remigio Bosch 1150, who showed up with a cell phone. “The anguish that the school mates went through was very great. Today they need to make public what has to do with the government's direct abandonment of public health and public education," Lagunas emphasized.

During the Industrial revolution they used the phrase ‘canary in the coal mine’ as a signal for danger. Fast forward to the Great Reset, we use the phrase ‘Drummer has a cardiac arrest’ to signify the same thing.
I so wish we could have another weekly post of the people waking up to this carnage. I wonder if anyone attempts to compile those who snap out of it? Would give us something positive to balance it out. Thank you Mark - an important reporting, but surely it's such a drag for you, too.
