As you may know, I posted this one yesterday, before the other one concerning athletes falling gravely ill outside the United States. While that second one has garnered some 35,000 views, this one has, so far, got only (roughly) 15,000; so I don’t think it went out to all subscribers.

Here it is again, for everyone (as I intended):

“The last couple weeks have been a whirlwind for us with this cancer journey that seems to never want to end,” he posted to social media on Friday. “We found out that inside my tumor was (a) very rare and very aggressive type of cancer called angiosarcoma. Along with that discovery, lung nodules have popped up that we aren’t sure what to make of yet.”

Hess, 29, said he will have surgery Tuesday to biopsy the nodules and also undergo upcoming surgery to remove the tumor. He also will have chemotherapy.

“I will fight like hell and do whatever is needed for a cancer free prognosis at some point,” he wrote.

MLB world reacts to vomiting pitcher

Kansas City Royals pitcher Amir Garrett went viral Monday night, but it’s not what you think. Garrett was seen on the mound Monday night, losing his lunch as he was seen vomiting on the rise.

The 31-year-old pitcher was then escorted off the field by trainers.

Garrett was pitching in the seventh inning of Kansas City’s blowout win over the Chicago White Sox at Kauffman Stadium when he suddenly fell ill.

Video captured from the game’s broadcast shows KC trainers raced out to check on the left-hander before he threw up the contents of his stomach all over the field. Witnessing on live TV was not the most pleasant moment, but it couldn’t be helped. Garrett would later say on his social media account that he was” all good” and that it was nothing serious. That’s good news to hear from the Royals, but you hope Garrett is the only one to be sick and that whatever he has won’t be spread to his teammates.

This is the second time in almost a year that Garrett has had some weird moment at the ballpark. Last year he threw a drink at a fan who was heckling him, for which he later apologized and sent the fan an autograph jersey.

Let’s hope this is not serious, as Garrett says. Naturally, fans reacted to the incident. Some fans offered sympathy; others offered jokes.

BLK Jeez opens up about cancer diagnosis, states that he’s feeling positive, mentally strong & his mobility is good

May 14, 2023

Earlier this month, a GoFundMe was set up for Darnell Kittrell, who is known by his ring name BLK Jeez. The 20-year veteran was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, which is a form of cancer that causes bone damage.

Jeez works with the National Wrestling Alliance and was the on-screen manager for NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Tyrus and he kicked off a partnership with National Heavyweight Champion EC3 before having to step away.

Jeez joined Tyrus on “The Wise Men” and opened up about his diagnosis. At the time of the recording, he stated that he was feeling strong and his mobility is good. Jeez explained what exactly his cancer entails and how initially, he thought he was just having back issues. He received his diagnosis on April 1st.

Rory McIlroy confirms illness heading into PGA, battles on back nine to stay afloat

May 18, 2023

Michael Reaves

Many were worried by a “messy” and “erratic” round by Rory McIlroy to start the PGA Championship at Oak Hill. Among those on edge was McIlroy himself.

The four-time major champion came into the year's second major with lofty goals, but his body didn’t cooperate. After an up-and-down opening round, McIlroy revealed he is contending with an illness that has hit him hard.

"I'm fighting something,” McIlroy admitted. “I thought I got a great night's sleep last night, and I look at my Whoop, and I was 22 percent recovery, and my skin temperature was 3.5 degrees higher than what it's been. But I actually feel better today than I felt yesterday, so plenty of water and a bit of rest, I'll be fine."

Although it’s the first time he’s revealed that ailment to the general public, some ESPN mics captured McIlroy telling partner Justin Thomas that he was under the weather during their opening round.

Championship Women's College Basketball Player Faints, Wheeled Out at White House Event

May 26, 2023

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -Medical personnel were rushed into the East Room of the White House on Friday when a member of collegiate championship-winning Louisiana State University women's basketball team fainted at an event to honor the team.

U.S. President Joe Biden called for year-round support for women's sports when the player, who was standing in the risers behind the podium, slunk downward and was helped off the stage.

"It’s a lot of standing. I apologize," Biden said. "It’s okay. It’s happened lots of times."

Coach Kim Mulkey said that the player, freshman Sa’Myah Smith, was okay as personnel wheeled her out.

"As you can see, we leave our mark where we go. Sa'myah planned that," Mulkey said.

"No, Sa'myah is fine, for those of you who are concerned. Sa'myah is fine; I'll assure you of that... She doesn't want to leave. She wants to stand with us but she needs to be checked out."

Terrible news but thank you so much for keeping us up to date. This has hit our own family as yesterday we lost my son in law to an aggressive brain cancer. The explosion of new cancers, blood clots, heart disease and all in our midst is a huge concern and so blithely being ignored by the mainstreamers.

It is sad when you read about these folks who have cancer and they have “a positive attitude” and “I’m going to beat this” coming out of their mouths. Under (normal) circumstances I would agree with this and encourage them. But these are not normal circumstances and these are not normal cancers. Even if they are successful in initially beating back the cancer, their damaged immune systems almost guarantees that the cancer WILL return and kill them. Once that poison has damaged your immune system, a cancer diagnosis is a death sentence. They have almost no hope of recovery.
