Michigan running backs coach Mike Hart suffers seizure, to stay in hospital overnight
October 8, 2022
Bloomington, Ind. — Michigan football running backs coach Mike Hart collapsed on the sideline during the first quarter of Michigan's game Saturday against Indiana. With 4:54 left in the quarter — just after Indiana scored a touchdown to tie the game, 7-7, and Michigan's special teams unit was ready to head on the field — Hart suddenly collapsed while standing near midfield. "It's definitely one of those events in life that you sit back and you're in shock," quarterback J.J. McCarthy said. "Especially for coach Hart, because that's someone who was waiting for this game, had this marked on his schedule. Just all prayers go out to him... I'm glad to hear he's okay but it definitely caught us off guard." During halftime of the game telecast, Fox host Rob Stone reported that Hart suffered a seizure. His team gathered around him and everybody on the field, on both sidelines, took a knee.
Medical personnel tended to Hart and made a barricade around him holding towels up to block the view from the sideline. After about 10 minutes, Hart was brought onto a stretcher and placed on a cart that took him off the field. "Mike had a medical emergency during the game, he's in stable condition and he's going to stay overnight here in Bloomington for continued observation," Harbaugh told reporters after the game. "Mike is a strong guy, just an abundance of prayers going his way. It really puts things in perspective.”

Chiefs' Frank Clark describes why illness forced him to leave Raiders game
October 14, 2022
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) - It’s no secret that Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark has had stomach issues in the past.
Since at least 2018, when Clark was with the Seattle Seahawks, he has battled stomach and gastrointestinal issues. In the offseason, the Pro Bowler explained how changing his diet and cutting off liquor helped improve his health.
But in Monday’s game vs. the Las Vegas Raiders, Clark only played about half of the defensive snaps before leaving the game with the same illness. He said it’s his first time having to leave the game because of it.
“It’s a challenge,” he said.
“I can wake up one day and be feeling good for a month straight, then all of a sudden I wake up one morning, I’m throwing up, I can barely move, I can barely drive a car, I’m nauseous, I’m seeing doubles,” Clark said. “I got a lot of doctors, a lot of scientists, a lot of different people on it right now trying to figure out everything.”
A difficult part of trying to cure the illness for Clark is being a professional football player.
NeNe Leakes' 23-year-old son Brentt recovering after stroke, heart failure: 'Very scary'
October 10, 2022
Brentt Leakes, the 23-year-old son of reality star NeNe Leakes, is recovering after suffering congestive heart failure and a stroke, his mother shared Monday on Instagram. In a series of Instagram story videos, NeNe Leakes addressed speculation about her son following a TMZ report about the incident published Monday morning. "This is not the way I wanted it to come out," Leakes said in her video. "We wanted to be able to talk about it ourselves when Brentt was in a better place, (but) I would rather the correct thing be out there than something that's not correct."
The "Real Housewives of Atlanta" alum explained: "Two weeks ago today, Brentt had congestive heart failure and a stroke. He's only 23 so he's really young for something like that to happen to him. … It was very scary. I don't even want to go into details of what happened and how I found out and what condition he was in." Leakes said she FaceTimed with her son that morning and he "is in good spirits" but "struggling with speaking." "I'm just baffled. It's a lot," she added. "So just keep praying and I will speak to you guys whenever I can. Again, he has shown some improvement and we're really happy and blessed for that."
‘Alaskan Bush People’ Star Bird Brown, 27, Daughter of Ami Brown, Faces Tough Hysterectomy Decision After Eight Pound Tumor Is Removed
[no date]
Bird Brown, 27, of Alaskan Bush People, underwent emergency surgery to remove two ovarian cysts and may need a hysterectomy. Because of the high-risk of a cancerous tumor developing, Brown must make the difficult decision to have a full hysterectomy, which would mean the removal of her uterus and ovaries— she could never bear children naturally. Brown suffered from stomach pains for a week and was told by her doctor she had a precancerous tumor in her body that needed to be removed. “A cystic tumor took over her abdomen, with fluid surrounding it. Her doctor told her it was not cancer now, but she has a higher than 50% chance of a cancerous tumor developing,” according to Pop Culture. The episode revealed Brown had two tumors removed, including one that weighed eight pounds. Brown is one of several children to Ami and her late husband Billy Brown.
Missing Chatsworth woman may have COVID-related psychosis, family says
October 7, 2022
Los Angeles, CA - Friends and family of a 23-year-old Chatsworth woman who went missing last week are spreading the word about her sudden disappearance, which they worry is related to her mental health struggles after a COVID-19 diagnosis. Hadyne Wilson was last seen around 2 p.m. Sept. 29 riding a silver scooter near the Vons grocery store at 20440 Devonshire St. She is described as a 5-foot-8, light-skinned Black woman with braided hair. She was last seen wearing all black — pants, a T-shirt, a hoodie and a jacket — and wearing earbuds, her family says. Her mother, Cyndee Wilson, said Hadyne suffers from COVID-related psychosis, which affects a fraction of those with the coronavirus and “kind of looks like schizophrenia.” Friends and relatives became worried when they hadn’t heard from Hadyne Wilson for a few days last week, and they began plastering the area near her Chatsworth home with posters.
Cyndee Wilson said her daughter had struggled with her mental health for months after getting sick with COVID-19. Recent research has led to better understanding of COVID-19's lingering effects on the brain. As the pandemic spread, some patients began reporting a host of cognitive and psychiatric issues such as memory lapses. A smaller number developed even more severe symptoms, experts say, including paranoia, hallucinations and psychosis. Hadyne Wilson suffered a bout of psychosis in January and went missing, her mother said. When she returned hours later, she acted as though nothing had happened, her mother said. “They start to hear voices, hallucinate, they start to get paranoid about people who care about them,” Cyndee Wilson said. Hadyne Wilson had been on antipsychotic medications such as Haldol but stopped taking them in May, her mother said.

Nebraska Lineworkers Rescue Elderly Driver Trapped in Car for Two Days
September 27, 2022
In a story that could have had a tragic ending, a Nebraska family is thanking a sharp-eyed journeyman lineman and his foreman at a public power district for helping rescue their elderly mother who had been missing for two days after her car crashed into a ditch and had gone undetected by other motorists. Loup Valleys Rural Public Power District’s Bruce Koch and Nick Schaaf were out inspecting lines Sept. 1 in 90-degree heat when Schaaf looked out the passenger window and spotted a vehicle several hundred feet away. Thinking the car was abandoned, he clambered across rough terrain to investigate. “There was no exhaust coming off the car, or heat or steam, so it had been there awhile.” But inside the car, Schaaf found 86-year-old Wanda Erks, conscious and sitting in the passenger seat with a lot of abrasions, dried blood and “a real shiner on her left eye.”
“I opened the door, and she said, ‘I need a drink of water.’ She was very coherent and asked if I could take her somewhere to get cleaned up.” Fresh off a “mayday” training drill with first responders the previous month, both men worked together to get help. Koch radioed the district’s dispatcher, who then called 911, and helped Erks drink water from a jug kept in the truck. He kept her company until the first responders arrived about 10 minutes later. Meanwhile, Schaaf flagged down rescue vehicles. Obscured by trees and tall grass, the wreckage wasn’t visible from the main road and was easy to miss, the men said. “People drove by all day long and never even spotted it,” Koch said. “The car was goldish brown in color and kind of blended in with the grass being brown. It was just in the right spot.”
Erks was transported via medical helicopter to CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, according to Ord Sheriff Casey Hurlburt. She suffered a broken vertebrae and broken wrist but is recovering, her daughter told the Ord-based PPD when she called to thank them. Koch and Schaaf wouldn’t take full credit for the rescue, insisting it was a team effort that included the district office, the volunteer fire department and the helicopter pilot. “It wasn’t just me and Bruce,” Schaaf said. “We couldn’t have done it without the rest of the people; a lot happened during those 45 minutes and it was just like a rehearsal. Everybody did their job and got things done.”
