Driver survives after transport truck crashes through house in Nanoose Bay
October 4, 2022
Nanoose Bay, B.C., fire chief Doug Penny said in his 50 years with the department, he’s never seen anything like it. On Monday, Oct. 3, shortly after 2 p.m., a semi-tractor trailer rig was heading northbound along the 2400 block of the Island Highway in Nanoose when the rig ran off the road and smashed through a house, almost exiting the opposite side of the building before the tractor came to rest, trapping the driver in the rig under piles of debris. It took firefighters about three hours to free the driver because of the amount of debris that had to be cleared from around the cab of truck. The spaces were tight, severely limiting the number of people who could work around the vehicle. “I’ve never seen anything like this and I don’t want to see it again, either,” Penny said. “It’s one of those things you wouldn’t even dream of putting a practice scenario together.”
The truck was heavily loaded with large paper pulp mats and the impact of the crash was heard by residents on the other side of Nanoose Bay. The concussion when the truck hit the house blew out the home’s back windows and diesel fuel was spilled throughout the structure, posing a fire hazard, Penny said. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to cut open the truck cab to extricate the driver. “I guess there was a whole bunch of those mats on top of [the truck cab] first, that they had to clear out, just to see the roof of the cab, and then they basically opened it up like a can of soup and they got him out through the hole in the roof,” the fire chief said. Penny said six people lived in the house and none were in the home when the truck tore through it. A dog escaped the wreck and was later found, but two cats had not been accounted for at about 5 p.m.
The driver was on a stretcher and about to be loaded into an ambulance at about 5 p.m. and was conscious and talking with first responders. “From what I understand, the driver was airlifted to Vancouver [General Hospital]. I believe that he’s doing OK, not life-threatening [injuries]. Amazing,” Penny said. “Our crews worked, I guess, for three hours to get him out … They had him on a stretcher in the driveway when I walked on the scene and then, ambulance, I just heard them say, ‘OK, we’ve got him from here and off they went’ … He was conscious and talking to our crews throughout most of the ordeal.”
Cpl. Mike Kane, Oceanside RCMP spokesperson, said the cause of the collision is still under investigation, but initial indications are that a medical event may have been a contributing factor leading to the crash.

October 3, 2022
‘Only for Lily falling on me — she kind of did save my life,” Kim Clack-Whelan says now. Kim and her then two-year-old daughter were playing on her bed in October 2021, when her small child landed on her mother’s left breast with her elbow. The pain was intense, Kim, thirty-six at the time, recalls. Lily, now three, is a twin — sister of JJ. Kim, who is a hairdresser, also has four stepsons: Nathan, Sam, Luke and Max, who range in age from 17 to 10. “It took the life out of me,” she recalls. Several days later, she was checking her breast in the shower, something she regularly did, when she found a lump on her left breast. “I’d always been a regular checker anyway, just while I was in the shower,” she says. “I called my husband Jason and asked him if he thought there was something there. He said there’s definitely something — it felt like a hard grape.” [paywall]

He made fun of non v. Famous 27-year-old Youtuber is in danger of suddenly going blind. Doctors do not know why but they assure them that it is not the v.
October 2, 2022
Ibai Llanos is getting worse and worse. The vision problems of Spain's most famous streamer are not new. A few months ago Ibai Llanos, 27, confessed to his followers that he suffers from 90% blindness in his left eye. And now in a new live he has confirmed that this is the reason why he has had a difficult day and cannot play video games that he does not know: "When I play a new game, I feel very bad," he said. This vision difficulty affects him on a daily basis and the medical results have not been very encouraging. The Basque streamer said doctors cannot assure him that he will not go blind.
Doctors don't know what causes blindness, but recent tests have found that optic nerve cells are also damaged in the right eye. Specialists believe that it may be something of genetic origin, although it is not excluded that it is a degenerative disease and can go blind. The streamer stated that this is not an excuse and that there are no studies for a possible cure.
Doctors have ruled out any link to the vaccine and Ibai, who has always been in favor of vaccines, teased skeptics and those who had doubts about the covid vaccine on 20 December 2020 with a tweet that reported his face distorted, shocked, and a provocative phrase which aimed to make fun of those who did not want the vaccine: “I had the vaccine against covid two days ago, this is how I am now. This Venezuelan Australian Italian Bolivian Community Government obliges you, either yes or yes. Resist you who can. I am shocked”.

Popular ABC presenter Julia Baird is forced off air as she faces another major health battle - years after having basketball-sized tumour removed
October 5, 2022
Popular ABC presenter and author Julia Baird has revealed her recent absence from TV screens has been to prepare for surgery. Seven years ago, The Drum host disclosed that she had a tumour the 'size of a basketball' removed from her stomach, which had grown out of advanced ovarian cancer. And on Tuesday, the 55-year-old journalist and author posted a long and heartfelt message on her Instagram account explaining she had another fight ahead of her - which is why she hasn't appeared on the panel show recently.
'To all of those who have written to ask why I have not been on The Drum in the past few months, thank you,' Baird wrote. 'I am due to go in for more surgery this week, and it will take a good while to recover, so I will not be back on air until next year.' Ms Baird said she would also be 'taking a break' from her regular columns in The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age and her recent appointment as editor-at-large of Harper's Bazaar magazine. She thanked all those who had been wishing her well.
Eye injuries, micro bleeds in the back of the eye, and disturbance of the vitreous humor (the jelly in the middle) of the eye are happening and fast pace, and won't be widely recognized unless the person is famous in some way. People of any age will be told this is normal, even if suddenly appears after a vaccine. I have seen one old at 84 and one in the early 40's. Vision checks are essential to catch some of these early in case any treatment is possible. I wonder if the occasional vaxxident won't be from a poorly understood decrement in vision that happens fairly quickly--in days.
It's hard to believe that Netanyahu was really vaxxed. It is fun though to imagine it was so and that this means there's such thing as karma :)
