Rick “Shecky” Scheckman, who for more than 30 years came up with oddball footage for David Letterman’s late-night programs while also finding his way on camera for wacky comedy bits, has died. He was 67. Scheckman had “multiple health issues” and died early Friday morning at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, his friend Leonard Maltin told The Hollywood Reporter.

Austin Majors, a former child actor best known for his role on “NYPD Blue,” has died, according to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s office. He was 27. He died February 11, 2023. The cause of death is still under investigation, according to medical examiner records. His family called Majors “an artistic, brilliant, and kind human being, who loved camping and fishing, graduated from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and had a passion for directing and music producing. Austin was the kind of son, brother, grandson, and nephew that made us proud and we will miss him deeply forever."

Mamaleek’s Eric Alan Livingston Dies at 38

Eric Alan Livingston, a member of the experimental metal group Mamaleek, has died, the band wrote on social media yesterday. The multi-instrumentalist had played with the group since 2015 and joined as a full-time member in 2019. The musician’s cause of death has not been announced. Livingston was 38 years old. Mamaleek emerged as a duo in 2008 and released a pair of albums in quick succession, one self-titled, the other called Fever Dream. Mamaleek acknowledged links to Beirut and San Francisco’s Bay Area and were said to be brothers.

Mr. Beef, the no-frills sandwich joint in Chicago's River North, has been a neighborhood staple for decades. But it became a national sensation after it was portrayed by the gritty, fast-paced show released in June 2022. Zucchero died unexpectedly on March 1 at Rush Medical Center while undergoing treatment for cancer, said his son, Christopher Zucchero, who is a co-owner of the restaurant. Duluth, MN — Duluth judge Sally Tarnowski, known for her mental health advocacy, died suddenly on Monday while vacationing in Florida, according to a news release from the Minnesota Judicial Branch. Tarnowski, who was appointed by Gov. Tim Pawlenty in 2007, was Chief Judge of the Sixth Judicial District from 2016-2020 and actively serving as a St. Louis County judge. She was first elected in 2008 and her most recent term ran through 2027. "All of us within the Minnesota courts community are devastated by the loss of Judge Tarnowski," said Supreme Court Chief Justice Lorie Gildea. "Beyond her exemplary service to Minnesota, Judge Tarnowski was a vibrant person whose commitment to justice shined through in everything she did." About 9:25 a.m. Saturday, Gatsos was headed east on US 12, approaching Grand Mound. A 64-year-old woman is dead following a tragic hiking accident in Big Bend National Park, Texas. The unnamed hiker was walking along the Hot Springs Canyon Trail on Monday when she "collapsed and was unresponsive," park authorities shared in a release. It added that the park's Communications Center received a call for emergency assistance at around 2:45 p.m. and that a team of Park Rangers and a U.S. Border Patrol Agent found the hiker at 3:30 p.m. and immediately administered CPR. A U.S. Border Patrol helicopter was also called in to provide emergency transport of the patient but all attempts to revive the hiker were sadly unsuccessful, the release added.

First and foremost, Chris loved his family more than life itself. His love for his wife and children showed through in everything he did. Airen’s travels took her to destinations nearby and half a world away, from Romania to a Texas Animal Ranch and Refuge, to the beach (many times), and on the trip of a lifetime, to Thailand, where she spent three days immersed in an elephant sanctuary.
