People were better looking, more slender, and more natural back then. Their faces shined from a lack of spike protein exposure, GMOs, manmade EMF and 24/7 social media fixation. The Holy Spirit had better traction with the human body.
Great clip. I had Heard of Derek and the dominoes but I didn’t know Clapton was in it. It is amazing that so many of the other artists who ignored Clapton‘s serious vax injury and joined the “god damn the unvaxxed” cult.
The name Derek came from combining the names of the two legendary guitarists who played on the record. The D was for Duane Allman the founder and genius behind the Allman Brothers Band. And the other of course was for Eric Clapton. Eric pleaded with Duane to join him in the band for live shows and future recordings but that wasn’t going to happen since the brothers Duane and Gregg were already on the road to become rock legends. Plus having lost their father at a young age, Duane was like a father figure to his 13 month younger little brother and wanted to look out for him. And the tragedy of it all occurred a year later when Duane was killed in a motor bike crash in Macon Georgia at the age of 24. But his band stayed together with Gregg leading the way for 45 more years.
I’m a Georgia native and had a chance to see them live more times than I can count. One special occasion I was so lucky to attend was during the Brothers 40 year anniversary run in 2009 at New York’s Beacon Theatre. While many great performers showed up to play with them, the Grand Prix was the two nights that Clapton joined them for 6 songs from Layla. Here’s a treat for you. Enjoy https://youtu.be/pb22MYqdugE
Derek has incredible tone in such magical fingers. And Warren Haynes is a musical giant. I used to go to see them this time every year at the Beacon. Their sound never gets old. Right after the band called it quits, tragedy hit once again. Butch Trucks killed himself and shortly thereafter Gregg Allman died. There will never be a band like them.
So many artists succumbed to the psyop.Neil Young,Joni Mitchell, deceased David Crosby,Graham Nash,Bruce Springsteen,David Grohl etc. should be embarrassed by their tunnel vision and lack of Questioning Authority that Rock music used to have.
I think what we've found out about the rock and roll ethos is that it's all nothing more than follow-the-crowd bullshit. When it was cool to be anti-establishment they all fell in line and followed that crowd. When it became cool to march to the jackboots beat they followed that crowd too.
What an idiot the guy is. When asked about Clapton he says "I have no idea where this comes from"? Really Stingee, you don't know what happened to him after the jabs? What a self-righteous loser.
An aspect of all this is seeing people through different lenses so to speak. My gut reaction is -Yes he's an idiot- but his music is more than that and I don't know what happens to people who take those positions. For example I don't think a dummy can write Secret Marriage...Maybe life becomes some kind of dream when everyone caters to them and they become so insular they don't think conventional thought in the outside world conceals any real dangers. Idk
I think you nailed it Tim. They become insulated and surrounded by sycophants who never challenged their thinking. Disagreement and debate are essential to intellectual growth and at some point celebrity dictates that they no longer experience those things.
I LOVE Eric Clapton. I have been a fan forever and how heartbreaking was it to watch him explain his experience with the clot-shot. May God Bless this man🙏💕
Sad story. Makes me worry about all the young people dealing with mental health issues. No doubt lockdowns, confusing societal values and marijuana abuse don’t help those who might have a genetic predisposition for schizophrenia.
According to Bobby Whitlock, the group had saved an oz. of coke for this gig and they shared it with Mr. Cash and Carl Perkins, who also was on the show. So they were all crankin’. It doesn’t matter though, it was a great performance, especially Clapton’s solo. It was the seventies!
And yet there are people who think this is bland and old fashioned and really not rock. Those are the people who just don’t know quality...substance and talent and all of it can be done without techno light shows and very little clothing...(the video Unholy is one of those disgusting displays of demonic)
Clapton is an amazing musician and person. I recall his little son died in an accident and the beautiful song he wrote about that. He’s honest and humble. One of my favorite stories he told was how intimidated he was by Jimi Hendrix’s guitar playing, when Jimi came to London. And now, of course, he’s been honest about his jab injuries. Can’t help but love that man.
Thx so much for that awesome clip! Loved seeing Johnny Cash too! Eric has the real rock & roll spirit, which is rare these days. They’re all bought now. Van Morrison is another good egg. Maybe a good ol’ video from him too?💗💗💗
Beautiful. Heart and soul. Things were simpler in those days. That took me away to a different time - way beyond all the Convoluted Convid Cabbage Crap. Had to play it three times. I think I'll go for a fourth.
It’s great that you posted something entertaining, cause lord only knows we need some good music & distraction

Bravo, Eric, for speaking out. So many seventies icons have succumbed to become scum.
oooohhh that is very clever Also so sad as I have lost respect for MANY entertainers. I cuss foo fighters now. GROHL GO TO HELL
Oh man, awesome post. Eric Clapton’s music touches the soul.

Thank u Jeff ... Derek Trucks is playing too !! Great 👍🏼

I see Tedeshi Trucks when they are in town along with Warren Haynes . Sad about Butch and Gregg Allman, some interesting lives they had .
That was excellent! Could actually hear the part Duane would have been playing in Layla. Thank you.

Didn’t Eric Clapton and Van Morrison record a song called ‘Where have all the rebels gone’ right around the time they rolled the vax out?
I heard the same about Sting so looked it up. Sadly, some of them will snap out of it someday and repair their dying legacies with a few words instead of being convicted and their property seized. Especially Grohl. https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/music/story/2021-08-25/sting-fall-preview-my-songs-las-vegas

You didn't notice the "A" tatooed on their heads for "asshole", designating them as members of the go along to get along club?
Totally agree with you.
Wow, thank you Professor. Brought a smile and fond memories.

Amen 🙏🏻♥️
RIP to the Dominos’ drummer, the truly dangerous Jim Gordon, who died earlier this week. https://apnews.com/article/drummer-jim-gordon-dies-a3dc54d8c6c5cafd8286d3765bbb29af
Thanx for that article you posted hear. Very interesting and informative. Sad, too.

Holy crap he was in the Wrecking Crew and killed his mom.
And a Johnny Cash intro to boot! Fabulous!

Needed this. Thank you. ❤️
Whooaaa, that gave me goosebumps! Much respect to Eric Clapton for speaking out. Happy St Patrick’s Day to you, and all ☘️
Epic! Where did you find this. Just a few years ago, lol. I actually know drummer Jim Keltner who played with Eric.
