Amanza Smith, an interior designer known for starring on the reality Netflix TV series "Selling Sunset," has opened up about her recent "wake-up call" which has prompted her to urge others to never ignore symptoms. The 46-year-old luxury real estate agent and mental health advocate recently dived into detail on her battle with a potentially life-threatening infection called osteomyelitis, which left her hospitalized over the summer. The "Selling Sunset" star, also a mother of two, recently told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview that she was just "two days away from death" when doctors discovered she had a severe case of osteomyelitis—a realization which followed her recent struggle with back pain. Recounting when she was talking about her health issue to her doctors, Smith said, "I said to them, 'Yeah, you know, this was so severe I've been told that if I would have waited like week or two more I could be dead. TV News Anchor, Greg Warmoth, Discloses Lip Cancer Diagnosis, Encourages Health Awareness
August 23, 2023
Florida - TV news anchor Greg Warmoth announced his squamous cell lip cancer diagnosis during a recent live broadcast. The condition was confirmed through a biopsy, after initially being misunderstood as harmless scar tissue. Warmoth has often engaged in outdoor activities, but it is not explicitly known the factors contributing to his diagnosis. Warmoth shared his experience to raise public awareness about health vigilance. He noticed changes on his lower lip for about six months. According to him, this illustrates why intuitive health attention is important. Warmoth is scheduled for a vermilionectomy, a procedure to remove and rebuild his lower lip. Research shows that lip cancer is common in men aged between 50 and 80. It is usually detected early due to its obvious symptoms. Using his platform, Warmoth aims to encourage proactive health care, especially for men who typically resist health check-ups.
NFL star suffers ‘medical event’ during practice
August 24, 2023
New York Giants tight end Tommy Sweeney experienced an undisclosed “medical event” during practice on Wednesday, resulting in the NFL player being attended to by team doctors and eventually being carted off the practice field. The exact nature of what occurred remains uncertain, as the New York Giants have only labeled it a “medical event.” The incident reportedly took place in the rehab area as Sweeney was working with a trainer. According to eyewitnesses, he suddenly collapsed and remained on the ground. The event drew immediate attention, with Coach Brian Daboll and General Manager Joe Schoen rushing over to check on Sweeney’s condition, according to The New York Post. Although specifics about his recent health have not been released, there were previous indications that Sweeney had been grappling with an undisclosed injury. Shortly after the unsettling episode, Sweeney was observed sitting upright on a cart with his practice jersey removed. The team later released a statement to calm any concerns, writing, “Tommy Sweeney had a medical event and is under the care of medical professionals in the Giants athletic training room. He is stable, alert, and conversant.” Sweeney, a 28-year-old NFL player from Ramsey, New Jersey, is not new to the NFL. This year will mark Sweeney’s fifth NFL season, having played his first four seasons with the Buffalo Bills. Recently, Sweeney made headlines by catching a touchdown pass for the Giants in their preseason game against the Lions on August 11.

Newport Beach, Calif. - New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham had what the team described as a ''medical episode'' Friday night in Southern California, which resulted in him being taken into custody by the local authorities. “Jimmy Graham experienced a medical episode last evening, which resulted in him becoming disoriented. He was taken into custody by local authorities and transported to a local hospital for evaluation for what Dr. John Amoss believes to be a likely seizure and spent the night under medical supervision and testing,'' the Saints' statement read. ''Amoss met Graham at the hospital and is overseeing his care at this time. He was released this morning and is with the team as they continue preparations for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers.'' According to a TMZ Sports report, police responded to a call about a person acting erratically near a resort. Graham was brought in under suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, according to the report. Graham signed a 1-year contract with the Saints last month, returning to the place where his career took a star turn. New Orleans drafted Graham in the third round of the 2010 NFL draft. In his five seasons with the Saints, Graham developed into one of the NFL's most feared pass catchers, hauling in 51 touchdowns in his first 78 games. The 36-year-old spent all of last season away from football.

Student at Fort Novosel goes into cardiac arrest in the cockpit | investigation won’t take place
August 24, 2023
South East Alabama - A student in flight school at Fort Novosel (formerly Fort Rucker) went into cardiac arrest while he was behind the controls in midflight, and the various messages I’m getting from students, instructors and other senior members within the chain of command paint the same picture with different conclusions.
On Friday, August 18, a student pilot was flying NOE (Nap of the earth is a low altitude flight used by military aircraft to avoid enemy detection and attack in a high-threat environment) when he suddenly slumped over the controls. There was a second student pilot who jumped into action and pulled him off of the controls while the IP (Instructor Pilot) took over and was able to safely land on the stage field. The second student immediately began performing CPR on the first student while the IP performed emergency shutdown. The paramedics immediately began life saving measures after he was pulled from his seat. He was medevac’d to the hospital in Dothan with his stick buddy, the second student, riding along with him. They were able to resuscitate him enroute, and yes, they used a defibrillator (this is an important note for later). USAACE (U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence) will NOT be conducting an investigation into the incident.

A Utah father of six who is also a military combat veteran and police officer is battling stage 4 colon cancer. His youngest son, 2, was recently diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. During stage 4 colon cancer, the cancer has spread beyond the colon and onto other parts of the body. The most notable symptom of colon cancer is a change in bowel habits. Although stage 4 cancer is harder to treat, treatment options exist to help manage symptoms. The Utah family impacted by both colon and brain cancer is relying on their faith to help them cope during this difficult time.
