Jewlis Eisenberg, a scholar of Jewish diasporic music and frontwoman of carnivalesque rock band Charming Hostess, dead at 49 in March of 2021.

Dong-Hyun Kim, conductor of the Queensboro Symphony Orchestra, dead at 46 right after the initial rollout of the vaxx in December 2020. A magnet for New York classical musicians: he took an obscure outer-borough ensemble and turned them into a force of nature.
