I guess I shouldn't be surprised since I witnessed the cultural decline of Berkeley from the late 90s until a few years ago (lived in or near there for about 15 of those years), but this might be the pinnacle of ideological puritanism trumping common sense that has caused so many "progressives" to become delusional.
Anyone wanting to experience "defund the police" in practice, can visit those areas of the world where there are no police or where the police is just a gang with better gear.
I've seen what that looks like. I sincerely hope that all of those blathering about "systemic racism" gets to experience life without police. Especially if the abolishment of private gun ownership and castle/stand your ground ordinances also gets removed.
There is no greater "social justice" than people having to live the consequences of their opinions made real.

Police are racists.
Police as an institution is racist.
Only white people can be racist.
Non-white people are always victims of racism.
Therefore, anyone wanting to be police becomes white and therefore also racist.
