Daewood Davis went down with an injury during a routine play and did not get up. It did not look like a serious hit but the entire game was called off after he went down. The play looked routine much like Damar Hamlin last year on the Buffalo Bills when he went down with an injury. He lay motionless on the field for several minutes. Update: Dolphins WR Daewood Davis suffered an injury in tonight’s game and has been taken to Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville for further evaluation. He is conscious and has movement in all extremities.

24-Year-Old Marathoner Collapses on Track After Cardiac Arrest: ‘No Definitive Answer About What Happened’
August 23, 2023
Dominic Fusco went to the Austin High School track with five friends in early August to record their mile times. It was a common challenge for the 24-year-old runner and his crew. The night before, Fusco, a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach with 53K Instagram followers, followed his usual prep routine, hydrating with water and electrolytes. He got up early the next day to beat the heat. "It was nothing different than what I would do on a typical Saturday morning," Fusco, who moved to Austin at the end of June, says. "I was up and I was moving and I was feeling good." Despite having run two marathons, an ultra-marathon, crushed plenty of hard track workouts and conquered long runs, the former Dickinson College football player was a bit nervous about trying to run a super fast mile. Fusco crossed the finish line in 5:15. After the run, his friends told him, he walked to the end of the track and started panting. He struggled to bring his heart rate down and take in enough air. His mouth began foaming, his body went purple and he collapsed with no pulse. Luckily a firefighter happened to be at the track. He rushed over and helped one of Fusco’s friends perform CPR while the others called 911. Fusco, co-founder of health and wellness platform Upspace, was rushed to the ICU at Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas, where he was placed on a ventilator. The doctors tried bringing him off the ventilator a few times, but he couldn't breathe on his own. They said he had suffered cardiac arrest. Fusco's mom immediately flew in from his hometown of Exton, Pennsylvania. She later told him that she walked into the hospital room, put her hands on her son and said, “Let me see those beautiful green eyes.” In that moment, Fusco apparently opened his eyes and let out a big sigh after hours of being unconscious. Then, he closed his eyes again and lay still. He came off the ventilator the next day and soon woke up. “It was very blurry when I first came to, but I just remember being so emotional I couldn’t stop crying,” he says. Soon he was able to get up by himself and walk. He says doctors told him that it’s a miracle he didn’t suffer any brain damage. Fusco was then transferred to a hospital that specialized in cardiology and electrophysiology. Over the next few days, specialists searched for answers as to why this cardiac event happened. But test after test, nothing came back abnormal, according to Fusco. “It's frustrating, because they still haven't given me a definitive answer as to why this happened,” he says. “I haven't been given an official diagnosis. They have all these things that it could be. I was in the hospital for over a week, and it was a lot of just waiting around, and just hoping and praying that we get some answers.” Fusco says doctors eventually came to the conclusion that he has a slightly enlarged heart, which might not pump blood as efficiently as it should. Doctors also told him there’s also the possibility he has Long QT syndrome — a heart rhythm disorder that can potentially cause fast, chaotic heartbeats. To prevent something similar from happening again, Fusco had a defibrillator placed in his side. While the decision was difficult, he says the implant will give him and his family peace of mind. But he is still stunned by the overall experience: "I had cardiac arrest," Fusco said with disbelief on his Pure Ambition podcast. "I have no history of heart problems. I like to think of myself as pretty darn healthy. I exercise every freaking day. I’m very particular about what I put into my body and basically I’m trying to optimize my health.”
American Heritage player suddenly collapses after suffering seizure during high school football game
August 20, 2023
Miami, FL - A night that was supposed to be about county bragging rights was suddenly cut short when a South Florida high school football player suddenly collapsed on the sidelines. The scary scene took place Friday night at Traz Powell Stadium on the north campus of Miami-Dade College during a pre-season football game between American Heritage and Booker T. Washington. The game was already underway in the first quarter when referees called a timeout on the field due to a medical emergency. Over the loudspeaker, it was announced that Miami-Dade Fire Rescue was en route to the stadium. American Heritage player Timothy Burroughs-Love was seen on the floor as training staff administered CPR on the sidelines. Training staff from both teams stayed with him as fire rescue made its way to the stadium. As Burroughs-Love was lifted onto the stretcher and taken to the hospital, other players and training staff were visibly upset. Shortly after the incident, it was announced that the game was canceled. After the Friday night football game came to a frightening halt, the teen's family spoke out with an update on his condition. Godmother Danisha Rolle said Burroughs-Love is a great athlete with a brilliant mind. The football star, who has offers from Dartmouth and Yale, has been recovering at Jackson Memorial Hospital after Friday night's game. "He’s in ICU so we just want to give all honor and glory to God because he was able to survive, and now we're taking it day by day," Rolle said. Rolle said Burroughs-Love suffered a seizure on the sidelines of Friday night's game, then suddenly collapsed. She says thankfully, he is now stable.
Pilot disabled after the mandated shots tells his story
August 24, 2023
Tim McAdams, a 59-year-old pilot and health enthusiast loved his work teaching pilots to fly Airbus Helicopters — until Airbus required him to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Three weeks after he got his second Pfizer shot, Tim had two cerebellar strokes — a rare stroke in the cerebellum that accounts for only 1-4% of total strokes. Because Tim was fit, healthy and had no family history of illness, they didn’t think he needed to get the shot, despite repeated urging by Airbus. “But when my employer mandated it, I thought, ‘Well now all of our retirement plans, everything could be in jeopardy if I have to try to find another job,’” Tim said. He didn’t qualify for a medical exemption and had no religious beliefs that would exempt him, so they felt he had no choice. Tim got his first Pfizer shot on Oct. 17, 2021, and the second on Nov. 7, 2021. “I woke up in the middle of the night, dizzy, throwing up and with difficulty moving my legs. My wife took me to an urgent care facility and they diagnosed me with vertigo,” Tim said. The hospital sent him home with drugs for nausea. The next night, he said, it happened again. But the next morning when the symptoms returned, they went by ambulance to the nearest hospital. Doctors there told Tim he had suffered two strokes, one on each side of his brain. In the hospital, the McAdams asked the doctors repeatedly what could have caused this rare event, but “they always shrugged.” It didn’t dawn on them that the vaccine could have caused the strokes until Tim’s doctors began questioning them about recent events. They asked whether Tim had fallen, suffered any injuries or done anything at all they could possibly think of that was outside the norm in the previous three months. “And I told the doctor, ‘Well, the only thing is three weeks prior I got the second shot of the vaccine,’” Tim said. The doctor responded, “‘No, that had nothing to do with it.’ And he walked out.” “The thing that got me,” Tim said, “is they were telling me they had no idea why it happened, but they were really quick to eliminate only one possible cause, the one change that had happened.”
Student Pilot Suffers Cardiac Arrest During Training Flight at Fort Novosel
August 24, 2023
Dale. Co., Alabama - A shocking incident occurred on Friday, August 18, when a student pilot went into cardiac arrest during a training flight at Fort Novosel. Despite the serious nature of the event, military officials have stated that an investigation will not be conducted. Military watchdog site TRMLX reported that a student pilot who was engaged in an NOE (Nap of the earth) flight, a low altitude maneuver used by military aircraft to avoid enemy detection, suffered from cardiac arrest on August 18. During the flight, the pilot suddenly slumped over the controls. A second student pilot quickly reacted, pulling him off the controls, while the IP (Instructor Pilot) safely landed the aircraft. Emergency measures were immediately initiated, with the second student performing CPR and the IP performing an emergency shutdown. Paramedics swiftly took over, and the student was medevacked to the hospital in Dothan, resuscitated en route with a defibrillator. According to the news outlet, the incident will likely not be investigated because “it’s being labeled as a medical event and not a “precautionary landing.”
No age reported.

‘Parent’s worst nightmare’: South Dakota boy battling rare form of cancer
August 27, 2023
Sioux Falls, SD - Charlie Murano is 15 months old and recently was diagnosed with PNET, a rare, aggressive form of cancer that attacks the brain. Now the family is doing what they can to fight for Charlie. Abby and Joel Murano and their son Max, welcomed the newest member of their family, Charlie, in May of last year. "Charlie was always the happiest-go-lucky kid, he, he was the easy baby. He was the baby that slept through the night at two months. And he just always had this like calming and just really enjoyable personality,” Abby told Nexstar’s KELO. But a few weeks ago, the Muranos began to notice Charlie displaying signs of paralysis. After doctors did scans of his brain, they found rapidly progressing tumors attacking his brain and spinal cord. Charlie was diagnosed with PNET, a rare aggressive cancer. “Cancer in Charlie’s age group is very rare in and of itself. And we’re being told that it’s very possible that the type of cancer that Charlie has, he may be the only child diagnosed with that in his age group this year,” said Joel.
