Wonderful - I will get it. And here is my latest - not an uplifting book - it is about mental illness. I ghost wrote it for an older gentleman. “Did I raise a mass murderer?” On Amazon and all book sellers on the planet. It is short and powerful. It could easily be turned into a screen play (I think).
Absolutely a powerful book, Lawrence and it should be made into a film. Agree, not uplifting, but it is a must read, as you say, "this is a story that needs to be told to the world". Highly recommend and much thanks to you, Lawrence, for writing such a difficult story.
Thanks Cathleen. I am happy that it connected with you. And yes, I have a vision of what the film would be like. If done correctly, it would be something that would deeply impact the audience and widen the understanding of the “demons among us”. I now believe that “the truth is much stranger than fiction”. Thanks again - God bless you and yours.
Ha! I Just finished reading Peter Matthiessen’s At Play in the Fields of the Lord where the Native American protagonist’s drinking ahuesca(sp?) serves the plot line.
Agree, Mark, "man shall not live on dread alone". I must admit I've been reading and researching too much these last three years and not doing enough for my mental wellbeing. This post has reminded me to take time to enjoy a good positive read. I ordered it on Kindle (I live abroad) and will read it on my hike tomorrow, where I'll sit and immerse myself in nature and watch the deer graze below, and get some much needed positivity. Kudos to your wife, Mark!
"for man shall not live on dread alone" that's wonderful. Reminds me of a small grocery sign I saw on the island of Corfu, before cell phones so I couldn't get a picture: "VEGETABLES, MILK, EGGS, DREAD"
