I was, without warning, banned for quoting the Declaration of Independence and for reminding people that government has constitutional LIMITS, but that humans have inalienable and certain rights that cannot be 'taken away', but only surrendered.

But to find the degree of corruption we're now experiencing you'd have to go back to the Rennaissance Papacy or read Gaius Seutonius' "Lives of the 12 Caesars" to find anything like a comparison. As for censorship? Stalinist Russia or Nazi Germany don't even come close. Everything you do, everywhere you go is date-stamped and stored on Intelligence Agency server farms -- and, I strongly suspect -- everything you've ever saved to your hard drive. Edward Snowden and Julian Assange are your examples and cautionary tales, people.
I post here and watch some YT and other videos. But 'date-stamped and stored' is one of the reasons I don't really like to even search or stream movies anymore.

It would seem more profitable for people to dump such media and hit them in a way that they understand, namely their income, just as Anheuser Busch recently learned in connection with their "trans" wokeness. If you use the Brave browser (and possibly others), there's an extension (I think that's what it's called) you can install that will immediately transfer you from YouTube to Odysee.com if the same video is available on Odysee. So often people in articles and blogs post the YouTube version and it's great when I click on it and seconds later I'm transported Odysee. Not only do I get to avoid YouTube, but I'm also spared the endless ads.
I always check Rumble first and avoid YouTube. Many people who say they’re on YouTube are also on Rumble even though they don’t say it in their promo materials.

Me too. Crackle is also good for fun stuff on my bad days. (I'm chronically ill.) I prefer non Big Tech if possible. There are also archive places where you can download music and radio plays. It would have been better to have had a bunch of little networks and sites to provide better services (through competition.) But a lot of people automatically gravitate to the Big Boys. And tolerate the bullying.

Me too. Crackle is also good for fun stuff on my bad days. (I'm chronically ill.) I prefer non Big Tech if possible. There are also archive places where you can download music and radio plays. It would have been better to have had a bunch of little networks and sites to provide better services (through competition.) But a lot of people automatically gravitate to the Big Boys. And tolerate the bullying.

I gave up watching TV years ago, for a variety of reasons. When I see clips from most mainstream media these days it looks to me like Bizarro Land. The whole mass culture has skidded sideways into some very dark and evil areas, but they don't realize it. The frog boils slowly.

It’s so easy to be taken in by a big shot pharmaceutical company or physician spouting the virtues of some latest concoction. The youthful among us need to take care to remember that all that glitters is not gold. A young person could be impressed by lofty credentials or a massive share of the market, and mistake that for virtue.
