Olympic ice hockey champion Sergey Yashin has died at the age of 61

Former striker of Moscow "Dynamo" and the USSR national ice hockey team Sergey Yashin suddenly passed away at the age of 61, according to the club's website.
Other details of Yashin's death are not specified.
In 1988, Yashin became an Olympic champion in the USSR national team, after which he was awarded the title of "Honored Master of Sports of the USSR". Yashin is also a two-time world champion (1986, 1989), USSR champion (1990), eight-time medalist of the national championships. In 1989, he was selected by Edmonton with the 141st pick in the NHL Entry Draft, but did not play a single game in the North American League.
In 2014, Yashin was inducted into the National Hockey Hall of Fame.

In Kamchatka, the causes of death of an athlete, 61, who died during the Avacha marathon are being investigated

In Kamchatka, an athlete who arrived at these competitions from Tatarstan died while passing the route of the Avacha Marathon. The man was 61 years old. He arrived in Kamchatka with a medical permit to participate in competitions. According to the organizers, the certificate was issued to him by a doctor of one of the city polyclinics of Naberezhnye Chelny.
"Valid for health reasons, can participate in ski marathons," the document says.
Before the start in Kamchatka on the morning of April 17, the organizers checked the man's documents, which he provided. He didn't complain about feeling unwell.
The athlete passed about 40 km of the Avacha marathon route when he became ill. Other participants called rescuers, who evacuated the man to the sports complex named after him. Fatyanova in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. An intensive care vehicle was on duty there. Doctors at that time were already powerless to help in any way and pronounced him dead.

Omsk pensioner, 75, left home and died

In Omsk, investigators are waiting for the results of an autopsy on the body of a 75-year-old man who was found near one of the houses in the Soviet district.
"On Thursday, April 14, at about 10: 42, a signal was received that near the house on 50 Let Trade Unions Street, local residents came across the body of one of the residents," explained Gorod55 in the Investigative Committee for the Omsk region.
According to eyewitnesses, at that time in the morning Omich left the entrance and suddenly fell to the ground.
According to the preliminary conclusion of forensic experts, no traces of violence were found on the body.

29-year-old convict suddenly died in Novocherkassk penal colony

In Novocherkassk, a 29-year-old man serving a sentence in a penal colony died, reports DonDay. The incident occurred in IK-14, located on Makarenko Street, 60.
According to preliminary data, the man's body was found in his bed on the morning of April 13. The deceased was convicted of possession and sale of drugs. After the guards found the body, they checked the pulse of the convict and called a medic to the cell, who pronounced the young man dead.

Hyberabad - A 14-year-old boy died after he suddenly collapsed while playing volleyball at a ground in Moghalpura on Saturday night. Police said that they do not suspect any foul play.
Around 10 pm on Saturday, when Nawaz was playing with other children, he collapsed. Within some time he started ooze froth and got seizures. Immediately he was hurried to Osmania General Hospital by his parents, where he was declared dead.
"When we enquired, it was found that the boy was fasting. After he broke the fast, he did not eat properly, he just had a date. It looks like he got dehydrated. For the last several days, he was not eating properly is what we came to know from his family members," Moghalpura inspector A Ravi Kumar said.

Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Administrator, Brig Anil Gupta tweeted, “JKCA is shocked to learn of the sad and sudden demise of Pranav Mahajan, ex Ranji player. Our heartfelt condolences with the bereaved family.”

Rajasthan: Mysterious illness claims lives of 7 children in Sirohi

Sirohi (Rajasthan) - A total of seven children have lost their lives due to a mysterious viral infection in the Sirohi district of Rajasthan.
"On the basis of a conversation with the collector, it was observed that 7 children have died after contracting a viral infection," Rajasthan Health Minister Parsadi Lal Meena told ANI on Friday.
Following the death of three minors in the district on Thursday, Sirohi Collector Dr Bhanwar Lal said that a survey is being conducted in the area to identify the cause of sudden death amongst the children.

Colombo: Sri Lankan Reggae, dance hall rap king Shiraz -Rude Bwoy has passed away after collapsing soon after his performance in the early hours of today at the ‘Gota Go Home’ Protest at the Galle Face Green in Colombo.
Shiraz had performed Bob Marley’s ‘Get up, stand up’ to entertain the protesters last night and had collapsed soon after ending the song.
It is reported that Shiraz was pronounced dead while being transported in an ambulance to a nearby hospital.
Shiraz aka Rude Bwoy had reportedly died of a sudden heart attack.

Man dies in emergency department after waiting hours at rural hospital

A man has died after waiting more than three hours for admission into an emergency department at a regional hospital in Victoria, as rural doctors warn they are increasingly treating people in corridors and struggling to find intensive care beds for the most critically ill.
An investigation is under way into the death of the 70-year-old man, who went into cardiac arrest and died about 3.30 pm on Monday after waiting 3½ hours for treatment at the Bairnsdale Regional Health Service in East Gippsland.
The Age has been told the patient was taken to the hospital by ambulance and arrived shortly before midday on Monday. He died after suffering a cardiac arrest in the bathroom of the emergency department at 3.30 pm.
A senior health source, who cannot be identified as they were not authorised to speak publicly, told The Age that the Bairnsdale Regional Health Service was facing an “increasingly desperate situation” amid severe staffing shortages and ambulance ramping outside the hospital “is rife and the worst it ever has been”.

A respected and passionate southern tourism-industry advocate has been remembered as "just a good bloke", who was very good at what he did.
Destination Queenstown and Great South staff are reeling from the news their colleague Graham Budd died suddenly on Friday afternoon while walking on Arrowtown’s Chum Track.
Emergency services said they were called to the two-hour track around 4pm where Mr Budd had been walking with a friend.
Crews were unable revive him.

Teen was 3rd person in NZ whose death linked to Pfizer Covid jab

The Ministry of Health announced the death on Monday night. The ministry said the person had myocarditis when they died.
The heart condition - usually caused by a viral infection, including Covid-19 - is a rare side effect of the Pfizer vaccine, with around 30 cases per million vaccinations in New Zealand, according to Medsafe.
The Director-General of Health said on Tuesday the death was "very sad" and "quite sudden".
Bloomfield said the person hadn't shown any symptoms of the heart condition before they died.
He said the Covid-19 Vaccine Independent Safety Monitoring Board had worked with pathologists, the coroner, and the teen family to come to its conclusion.
The board concluded that the death was "most likely" vaccine related, although it wasn't absolutely certain, Bloomfield said.
"The family were very clear that they didn't want this death … to in any way put people off from being vaccinated or to be used by groups to undermine vaccination efforts in New Zealand."
The Covid-19 Vaccine Independent Safety Monitoring Board said on Monday the teen had received a dose of the Pfizer vaccine in the weeks before their death.
"The Board considers that the development of myocarditis was possibly due to vaccination with the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine."
The Board said the death reported on Monday is "the third death in New Zealand that is considered to be linked to vaccination with the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine".
All three deaths are currently with the coroner to determine the cause of death, the board said.
516 people have died with Covid-19 in New Zealand since the pandemic began.
