Nothing to do with Covid or anything but in 2003 my mother's father died when she was on holiday.
This was before the years of 24-hour connectivity so I couldn't tell her and worried for the next 5 days.
When I collected her from the airport she wanted to go to her friends but I insisted she came home.
When I told her about her own father's death I got told "is that all he was old and now I missed out on tonight".
Some people are ice cold, she is one of them, there are so mny more of them out there.
