Have a dear friend whose Aunt and Uncle have had “The Covid” now 4 times. They cannot understand. They exclaim they’ve had the Vaxxine and 4 boosters. Still, even in the face of Nightly News they can’t figure it out. Sad. They have been injected as well. I keep quiet.
A friend sent another story of men stealing women's trophies in a competitive bicycling event. While this may seem off-topic to the sadness of Professor's Millers historical chronicling of those who died suddenly, I think it is on topic. My friend has always been an athlete, as am I. While we were stronger and faster than many women in our chosen sports, we were never as strong as most men - well back in the 80s and 90s when men were still strong. She was horrified to see the woman on the third place podium smiling while two men took first and second. Yet, this is what happens when you construct the scientific process through a rubric of literary/social justice rhetoric instead of science. Camille Paglia says the Women's departments should have started with biology courses, not literature. It is a profound statement. If this direction had taken place, I believe it would have had beneficial ripples across medical science. It is unlikely that terms such as compassion, equity, etc., would have been co-opted to commit these crimes.
