The Toronto Sun is reporting that Dr. Candace Nayman suddenly died on July 28, 2022. The 27-year-old triathlete was a resident doctor at McMaster Children Hospital in Hamilton. She died Thursday after collapsing during a training swim. Friends kept an around-the-clock prayer vigil for Nayman who would eventually lose her fight.
Doctor Nayman tweeted about the COVID shots in January 2021, mentioning that her twin had lost her hearing to meningitis at 19 months of age. "My twin lost all her hearing to meningitis @ 19 months b/c there was no S. pneumo #vaccine for kids <2y/o in 1996 in CA. Miraculously I was ok. Kids now get the vaccine @ 2 MONTHS of age & meningitis rates have plummeted. #VaccinesWork. PLZ get your #covidvacccine when possible."

Melville Family Physician passed away unexpectedly

The Saskatchewan Health Authority and Emmanuel Health announced the unexpected death of a Melville family physician. Dr Shahriar Jalali Mazlouman had been practicing at the Melville Medical Clinic since July 2021 after completing his Saskatchewan International Physician Practice Assessment placement in Yorkton. Dr Mazlouman also provided ER coverage at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre and provided physician services in Ituna one day per week.

Former NWT cabinet minister Alfred Moses dead at 45

Former cabinet minister and MLA Alfred Moses has died. Sources close to the matter said he was found in his apartment July 26. The Office of the Chief Coroner said the matter is under investigation.
Ken Kyikavichik, Grand Chief of the Gwich'in Tribal Council, went to school with Moses in Inuvik. He learnt of Moses's passing in a phone call from a family member Tuesday afternoon. He said he'd known Moses for as long as he can remember.
"He was always somebody that lit up a room whenever he was around," Kyikavichik said. He last spoke with Moses just a week ago, when Moses called to extend condolences for the loss of a family member. "This is somebody who was always thinking of others," Kyikavichik said.

Family told autopsy results for 14-year-old who died unexpectedly could take up to a year

A Winnipeg family says they've been told they may have to wait as long as a year to find out what caused their 14-year-old daughter's death. Talina Rampersad-Husack died suddenly on July 17 in the intensive care unit at the Children's Hospital, her obituary says.
Details about her illness are unclear, leaving her family to wonder what exactly led to her death. An autopsy was done, but Talina's family says they were told it could take up to a year to get the final results. "No parent should have to wait one year to find out how their healthy, vibrant 14-year-old daughter died," a family spokesperson said in a statement to CBC News.
Longtime family friend Nahanni Fontaine, who's also the MLA for St. John's in Winnipeg, said the teen's family was devastated to not know what ultimately led to her death — and to learn they'd have to wait so long to find out. "The death of a child is something that none of us would wish on anybody. But to add this to that process … it's heartbreaking," said Fontaine. "I think that everybody can agree that it's wholly unacceptable to ask a family to wait for a year to find out how their loved one passed."
Fontaine said Talina died just over two weeks after falling ill on the day of her Grade 8 graduation at the end of June.
Kathryn Braun, director of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Manitoba, said in an email in some cases there are special tests that need to be done as part of an autopsy to provide an accurate cause of death.

P.E.I. harness racing community mourns driver Earl Smith's death

Charlottetown, P.E.I. — Kent Oakes chokes back tears as he talks about the impact Earl Smith had on the P.E.I. harness racing industry. Smith died suddenly July 26 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital of cardiac arrest. He was 73 years old.
“I’ve known Earl my entire life. Our fathers had horses together," Oakes said in an interview with SaltWire Network on July 27, pausing to collect himself. Oakes, who is responsible for harness racing on behalf of the provincial government, said Smith’s love of the industry and his passion for it can’t be expressed in words.
Smith, who lived in Hunter River, was considered one of the top stakes’ drivers and trainers on the East Coast, having won every stakes race in Atlantic Canada on multiple occasions. He was also one of only two horsemen in North America to have wins through seven decades. Smith captured his only Gold Cup and Saucer Race title in 2008 on one of the rare occasions the race took place during the daytime.

CF Montreal [soccer] are grieving the loss of assistant coach Jason Di Tullio, who died Thursday night following a cancer battle. Di Tullio was just 38 at the time of passing. The club announced his death before Montreal president and CEO Gabriel Gervais released a statement.

Quinceañera, faints during dance at her party; she died hours later in a clinic

A minor, identified as Daniela, fainted when she was about to finish her XV-year dance, for which she was transferred to a private clinic in the city of San Pedro, Coahuila, where her death was later reported. This tragic event was recorded early this Sunday, July 31, in the Rosita ejido, municipality of San Pedro, Coahuila. After the news, musical groups, musicians, and a large number of sampetrinos [locals] have sent condolences to the young woman's family, that she fulfilled her most longed-for dream: her fifteen-year-old party.
No further details were given about the cause of death; however, people close to him asked for respect and privacy for the family in a post on Facebook: "We will only add that it was not during a lawsuit [pleito] or an accident," [Google Translate used "lawsuit," but pleito can also be translated as quarrel, brawl or controversy]
In the private clinic where the minor died, the ministerial authorities were notified so that they would be informed of her death. Experts from the Attorney General's Office, Laguna II delegation, took the body to the Semefo of Matamoros, Coahuila, where the legal autopsy would be performed to determine the cause of death, pointing out that it was due to natural causes, since apparently she had a heart disease.

Child arrives dead at hospital from Tobago daycare

Tobago police are in the dark over the sudden death of a three-month-old baby at a daycare centre in Carnbee. Newsday understands the baby was dropped off on Tuesday morning and was doing well. But hours later the child’s mother was alerted to an emergency. The babysitter then took the baby to the Scarborough General Hospital. When the mother arrived doctors were working hard to resuscitate the child, but were unsuccessful.
Recalling the events of that day, she said she left the baby at the daycare and headed to work. The babysitter sent her a picture of the child, as customary, to show she was doing well. Moments after, she got a WhatsApp voice message saying the baby was behaving oddly and was not drinking the formula prepared for her. The mother was asked to come to the daycare centre, but before she could get there, the baby had been taken to the hospital. Soon after the mother arrived there, she was told the child had died. The body was removed to the Scarborough Mortuary. An autopsy is expected to take place soon.
Contacted for more information, Snr Supt Junior Benjamin said he was unaware of the matter. After making several calls to his officers, Benjamin confirmed that no report had been made to the police, so there was no investigation ongoing. He said hospital officials would usually contact the police if they had reason to suspect foul play.
The mother of the child, who asked not to be named, said the child had no pre-existing medical conditions. But she doesn’t believe the babysitter harmed the child or was guilty of negligence.

Miró da Muribeca, one of Brazil's greatest urban poets, dies at 61

The poet and chronicler from Pernambuco Miró da Muribeca died this Sunday at the age of 61. The pseudonym given to João Flávio Cordeiro da Silva won over Brazil with his art and exercise of writing. He was battling prostate cancer and the tumor had metastasized, spreading to other organs. Due to the seriousness of the situation, Miró asked to be taken care of at the Hotel Central, in Recife, where he had been living recently.
The artist was also undergoing treatment for alcoholism and went through a severe case of covid-19 at the end of 2021. Next Saturday (6) he would have his 62nd birthday and friends were preparing a party for him. The announcement of the poet's death was made through his Instagram profile. The cause of death and funeral information have not yet been released.

51-year-old dentist suffers heart attack and dies after soccer match with children

Orthodontist Ricardo Lopes, 51, died after suffering a massive heart attack shortly after playing a football match with a group of friends and family on Wednesday night (27), in Campo Grande. Teams from the Military Fire Department performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers for 45 minutes in Lopes, but he could not resist, and death was confirmed at the scene.
At g1, Frontino Cardoso Lopes, the victim's brother, reported that Ricardo's two sons, aged 16 and 19, were playing soccer with their father at the time of the heart attack. He was also president of the Brazilian Association of Orthodontics of Mato Grosso do Sul (ABOR-MS).
PARAGUAY
Shock in Paraguay: the body of a senator appeared floating in a lake

A Paraguayan senator was found dead this Sunday in the waters of Lake Acaray, in the department of Alto Paraná, in southeastern Paraguay. She was informed by local authorities. This is the legislator Zulma Gómez, 61, a doctor by profession and a member of the Authentic Radical Liberal Party (PLRA).
Prosecutor Cinthia Leiva, quoted by ABC Color, said that everything points to an accidental death. The body shows no injuries and the forensic inspection determined the cause of death to be drowning. The body of the legislator was rescued by firefighters about 20 meters from a dock located on a property of the leader, the prosecutor told the Telefuturo channel.
Firefighters moved to the scene after the senator's husband alerted the authorities about the senator's disappearance. The Public Ministry reported on Twitter, citing the prosecutor, that the autopsy and other investigative steps will be carried out. A coroner who arrived at the farm told Telefuturo that the first evidence points to "mechanical suffocation by submersion." The official said that the waters of the lake have a depth of about seven meters in that area.

The teacher and researcher Federico Schuster, philosopher and former dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), died this Saturday night at the age of 61.
According to Clacso, Schuster was going “in a few days to participate, as a member of its Organizing Committee, in the 1st Postgraduate School of the Network of Contemporary Latin American and Caribbean Social Studies, to be held in Mexico City before the ALAS Congress” .
The governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, wrote on his Twitter account: “With pain and surprise we say goodbye to Federico Schuster. Tremendous loss for the university, science and Argentine politics. A big hug for his family and friends.”
Does it seem to you that there are more deadly odd automobile accidents lately? Cars drifting into oncoming traffic as though a “cardiac event” might have happened prior to the accident? Are thorough enough autopsies really being performed on these poor deceased people?
