I worked in the Veterinary field and yes, many of the drugs are the same as for humans and manufactured by the same company at the same facility. I've also used Fish Mox but I think they caught on and took it off the market where anyone could buy it. (Only developed 2 gills! LOL!)

That's what I presume, though I was surprised. Probably got a parasite from the Rio Grande when I lived in Terlingua. Was a river company shuttle driver for a while and also went on many a river trip. Ivermectin is great. I just gave my dogs their monthly 'mectin chew to stave off heartworm.
Unfortunately, it's by Rx: HeartGard. I don't think there's anything else in it except whatever is in the chew, but I'm not risking giving them just the plain paste right now (which they won't really take to anyway), but it is so worth straining to pay for HeartGard if it means saving them from God forbid getting heartworm from mosquito bites. I didn't need to give it to my dogs until we moved to Florida. Mosquitos (and most things and people!) don't easily survive in the high desert, so I used botanical sprays from Only Natural Pet in then-nearby Colorado, oh, and those wacky vibratory tags. Those things are not enough in the tropics/subtropics.
Never gave my Blue Heeler that I had for over 15 years any of that flea/tick/heart worn meds, but good to know to use IVM as a monthly ‘prophylactic’ treatment for the pups!

The horse dewormer is MUCH more affordable, around US $12 on Amazon. I use the Bimectin brand, as the other ones (the white creams--ick!--are truly unpalatable). Dosages are according to the user's/horse's weight. Every notch on the tube represents 50 pounds. I only did a notch or two at a time daily for a month before I noticed the exiting of IBS. Now I take a notch or a little more 3 to 4 days/week. Keep your finger over the end of the tube where the paste comes out in order to help control the plunger better. Otherwise, you might blow half the wad, so to speak (sorry), if you press the plunger too hard. In theory but not in practice one should be able to lock the plunger at the set number of notches. God, I hope that's clear.
